The "twin towers" photo is actually of the Marina City Towers in Chicago, which were designed by Bertrand Goldberg, who studied at the Bauhaus and briefly worked for Mies in Germany, but in contrast to Mies, was known to juxtapose rectangular and circular forms. Incidentally, the IBM Building directly across the street from Marina City Towers was designed by Mies, however, I believe that you were referring to the 860-880 Lake Shore Drive Apartments as being the “twin towers” completed in 1951?
Sorry, man, but mies never worked nor for Karl Friedrich Schinkel, neither for Frank Lloyd Wright. First, because schinkel died in 1841, and second, mies went to america in 1938, adn already was the director of the department of architecture at the Armour institute, now IIT
yes but almost nothing in Nature is "straight" it is mostly circular--wavy--cool thoughts here on design but very cold too- missing a lot to me
thanks for sharing
