@statjr The Murciélago does not have a dual-clutch transmission, it is a single clutch robotized manual. However, I am quite certain that the crackling noise when changing is under flat-shifts, the car on full power -
The gas that was supposed to go into the engine, driving the wheels, is interrupted by the gearchange, and is therefore thrown into the exhaust instead. In the exhaust, it explodes, leading to the little crackling-sound. You understand? :)
@LP640ROADSTERdk I understand thanks man. My friend has a Gallardo & he said between E-Gear cutting the power to shift & exhaust vavles opening & closing it makes that noise. The vavles close under NO power so when the engine cuts the power the valves close as well as there is temporarily no power out the wheels then the car shifts, reapply's power and the valves open back up. So between engine cut time (while shifting) & the valves opening & closing due to a cut in power it sputters.
@LP640ROADSTERdk Well, partly. My friend was saying that the vavles are a part of the sound you're hearing. They blip from open to close back to open. As well as the cut in power and the car shifting. All three of three of those mechanisms he said contributes to that sound....
I love it when the E-Gear shifts and it makes that cackling/sputtering noise!!! 1:56
Anybody know what that is?? It does that on most cars with a dual-clutch paddle shift transmission....
