  • Other than the song "CARS", I don't think any of Gary's works have been used in commercials. That's too bad. He can come up with some good jingles, like he did with a try at a 7-UP ad.

  • lol @ Numan doing an ad at the height of his popularity...no wonder his star dropped like a rock!

  • @leonakita actually this was recorded before he found fame, you DICKHEAD. dropped like a rock? over 30 years and still going strong

  • @chunkymonkey1966 regardless, commercials never helped anyones career and if it wasnt for diehard Numanoids, that are dying off daily btw, he'd long be an after thought in some syntthesizer joke punchline

  • actually i think that this song, while def a GN song, is vocalised by John Du Cann from Atomic Rooster

  • Awesome thought I might see this here!

  • It makes me wonder. I saw this back in 1979 and thanks to the Miracle of 'You Tube' I can find things lost in my deep memory. Now what if? Gary Numan released a full length version of the song coupled with a video along the advert lines but with a little addition-the Autons from Dr Who. Yes it would have copyright issues but the scope is enormous and a blistering combination is perfectly possible.

  • whats wrong with the audio quality sounds good to me Cheers for the upload

  • Wow, I remember this ad like it was yesterday. You made my day with this. I could not afford Lois, so used to wear Lee Cooper

  • Can you still buy those jeans?

  • @TheGodParticle I looked it up on the internet. It looks like Lee Cooper jeans are only sold on the continent in Europe. I doubt they were ever in the US although I could be wrong, and it looks like they quit the UK a long time ago now.

  • Great music/advert. This is the version of the advert as originally broadcast and can be compared with the revised advertisement uploaded elsewhere on youtube.

  • Ace!

  • The truth about this advert is that for the Untited Kingdom this was tuly one of the first modern looking adverts.

1979: this was post-punk,but the style is very intuned with punk 1976-1977.

I also remember at the time an advert for Foster grant sunglasses (tasty tarts).

Does anyone know where you can see this advert?

  • U made me sit through 14 seconds of introduction crap and than gave me bad audio.

  • @JarrodCook93

And you would know all about BAD AUDIO Uploading all that Ade Fenton Crap !!

  • @JarrodCook93 fuck you. go listen to The Plan at the end if you're going to whine about this nice upload.

  • Bloody hell....................
