This was the stock distortion on the Vox AD30VT modelling amp. I believe the amp model I used on this one was the Numetal setting or something like that. I've recently upgraded to the newer VT50 model and hopefully will make something using that in the near future. Sounds loads better.
there's a free audio recording program call Audacity. I highly recommend it. very easy to use and easy to edit with.
I use it to record different things and then i use Cubase to set eqs on the separate tracks and effects.
The mic sounds great. I've been throwing around the idea of getting one myself. Also the position of the mic and the speaker of your amp can effect the sound. i recomend just playing around with different positions til you find what you like.
Sorry for the VERY delayed response. Been real busy with school. I have Audacity and have used it quite frequently, however, it doesn't record videos and I'm left with whatever Quickplay picks up. That is unless Audacity can edit the sound in a video and I was unaware this whole time.
Hey man, cool video, I was just checking out how the Blue Snowball could handle a distorted guitar, sounds like it'll work great for what I have in mind. Btw, sick guitar, and i like the ph at 1:06. :P
What are you talking about you are not getting decent tone with that Blue Snowball??? Your tone is F^&*Y(&ing GREAT!!!! You just made me decide on getting that Blue Snowball mic. I was using an M-Audio Fastrack with a Shure 57 and I can't get the tone you are getting. Great Playing BTW!!!
That used to happen to me as well. I'm sorry but I've forgotten exactly what I did to fix it. :(
Some things you may want to try are reinstalling Quickplay or reinstalling the drivers for the camera. I think the latter may have worked for me. I'm not very computer savvy so I apologize.
i was considering the snowball for recording my guitar/violin/singing and i was questioning how well it would record distortion. this sounds great though! thanks a million
You play really well and the guitar sounds amazing. Did you mic your amp for this recording?

@GauravTMusic Thanks a lot! Yup. the mic was placed to the edge of the speaker I think in this recording.

audacity is legit, you get better results than garageband and can edit easier.

Use cool edit to record sounds with the snowball mic, i have a video of my friend rapping and singing and w/e with the snowball, and cool edit.
look around for free downloads or torrent it, if you can't afford it.
IF you can. Buy it.

is the mic infront of the amp?
if so put a sheet over it =]
it makes it sounds MUCH better xD
AdamAKAspoon 2 years ago
Hmm interesting. What kind of sheet? Like a bed sheet? A shirt? And yes the mic is pretty much in front of the amp. It's towards the corner of it.
rob062388 2 years ago
any... just one big anough to go over the amp and the microphone =]
