  • Hollywood sign head hands feet found : } QC

  • makes me cry so much, brings back great memories!!

  • Soo good!!

  • Is this mimed? I really can't decide. Something just doesn't seem right about Albert's solo. Still really awesome though! :L

  • @Amplei14 This, I believe is from the Old Grey Whistle Test in 71. By that time, miming/lipsynching wasn't allowed. It's a40 year old video so probably just a little off kilter. Beautiful song.

  • @Amplei14 Not mimed. Light travels faster than sound, so it's just one of those sience stuff things. 40 year old visual is not in sync with an 40 year old sound wave.

  • Haunting!!!

  • this is a great song, great band that never got anywhere, sad to say. I bought the Island sampler it was on when it came out El Pea, strange vinyl double sleeve and still play it often.

I wonder if their failure to make it had anything to do with Albert Lee's live playing - not a patch on what he could really do. He certainly went on to be a great session player and released a number of good country-based solo albums with lightning fast playing. Interesting

  • @davens929 Ive still got El Pea!!! Ray Smith will reply to any messages you send him . If ya want his details let me know. Really great to chat to him. Did you notice Chas from Chas and Dave in this band?

  • @davens929

He's actually a really good live player both then and now. Check out all the Emmylou Harris videos to see as well as his more recent stuff with his own band. I think the problem was they didn't fit into any category. Rock'n'roll? Rock? Country rock? Ballads? They did it all, but didn't appeal to any one segment. But that first double album was and is the pride of my record collection.

  • One of my favorites of all time, one of the greatsest guitar solos, virtually unknown. I lost my original album years ago but have since found another, put it on cd. Thanks for upload

  • HHF . when musicians played

  • haunting guitar solo heard similar in other places too

  • Hi @wherethemusicgoes. Thanks for your help. I've actually got the old vinyl El Pea, but don't have either a deck or way of converting it!!! I'll try to get it digitally.

  • @hastymusic a new version (Studio Version has been posted), not by me ..sorry First heard the track on a sampler album called El Pea, Island records, In the States the same double album is called Strangely Strange But Oddly Normal and can be purchased through I Tunes, single tracks or complete album, the version I have is from the album Heads Hands and Feet - Heads Hands and Feet - 1971 (only @128 though) a mutual friend let me d/l from him after searching for months also ... hope this helps.

  • Albert Lee at 20 years . Dude!

  • Thanks @wherethemusicgoes do you remember where you got it, or is it off the original vinyl?

  • Brilliant band. The AL solo on the recorded version is one of the classics of all time.

  • Has anyone got the studio track they can post on YouTube? It is brilliant!

  • @hastymusic I have the studio track on mp3 ... but have no idea how to post it ???

  • Love this video, such a fabulous band .. thanks to trevmm for posting it!!!

  • yes, this is beautifulest

  • Anyone else wonder if Roger Waters had been listening to that, just before he wrote Shine On You Crazy Diamond?

  • One of the Best 70's songs....Wonderful....Thanks for posting..............

  • Saw HH&F open for The James Gang , the first music venue held at Pine Knob nw of Detroit. Show started 2 hours late due to the massive traffic jam that had not been expected. Their music instantly grabbed the attention of the now rowdy impatient, however really baked crowd. It was a great show and imo they out shone Joe Walsh and the James Gang. Have had all their albums from release and am glad more people are discussing them .

  • Many thanks to TREVMM - great taste! I saw the original HH&F lineup live in Europe in the 70's where they were opening for Procol Harum. I wrecked several vinyls due to overplaying but while in Japan in the 80s I found a local issue of their debut CD. Their catalogue is short, only 3CDs and 1 live bootleg, but its timeless music. To get the depth and quality of Tony Colton's voice and work, try to locate the songs "Make Me Feel Much Better" and "Look at the world it's changing" - pure magic.

  • Great its back one of my favourite songs of all time.

I just love Tony Coltons voice on this one.

Anyone know what inspired the song?

  • My guess is it was a song about a small amount of marital strife.

    Who knows?

    It's a great song though.

  • This thrills me to every extremity,

  • anyone got warming up the band from this same session..it was up but taken off...pleeeeeeeeeaaaaassseeee....great song

  • Thank god (and Trevmm) for putting this back up from. A heavenly guitar solo - totally original and ahead of its time by eons. Interesting to compare it with the album version which is definitely better and easy to find in the "related videos), but just goes to show how well Albert makes it up as he goes along. What a genius!
