i have kno3 and sulfur and 425 mesh powder when i mix it 7/3 or even 1:1 the mixture doesnt want to light and when it does it " melts " and gets syrupy i got my kno3 from stump remover. does anyone know what the problem is? if you can message me back please
i used to make tons of flashpowder, then i almost died. Imagine that that amount (maybe more) was cooking in a frying pan and explodes. I survived because i recahed down for some more potassium perchlorate to mix in when my frying pan and stove obliterated themselves. Don't mess with that stuff and if you do, dont cook more than 20 grams at a time.

I guess a flame licked out and, well you know the rest. also, a little heat helps to mix the chemicals together. I'm just lucky i had my KClO4 on the floor (due to the fact i used to make my powder outside on a stove a couple meters from the cabin; nothing to put it on) Wouldn't be here otherwise. Although i have to admit, still damn entertaining to use.
