  • This car is 30 yrs old and still bad ass

  • One of the best movie about the factory , great job !

  • im from near dunmurry in northern ireland

its pretty cool yet pretty sad that the original delorean factory was justa few miles away from where the Titanic and her sister ships were built. i really wish theyd open again in dunmurry-id totally go work in a time machine factory! :P

  • Saw them outrun one of these on The Car Show with a Toyota Camry. Also outran a Ferrari 308 gtb with a Toyota mini van.HAHA theses 80's pieces of crap were turtles 193 horse what a joke.

  • "You've done it. You crazy son of a bitch you've done it!"

  • Jurassic Park! The song I least expected.

  • @hiei734

Oh don't be so ignorant,Anyway without the"FREAKING DRUNK IRISH"the factory would have never been built.oh F.Y.I the ss panels were made in Carlow in Ireland

  • @gortec1985 suck my irish cock bish

  • OMFG - It`s a DINASAUR!!! HOLYT SH*T WADDUUUFUUUUKKK???

  • ok who let the t rex out.

  • 0.0? Jurassic Park Theme Song?...lol

  • I have never had a car and it's story make me emotional except for this one

  • now why can't modern car commerical be like this

  • @jmm1233 cus this isnt a commercial

  • @OldestManInCanada well it should be

  • @jmm1233 ya it should if they still manufactured it which they don't :{

  • What a great car?? It was designed, then redesigned! The panels never fitted inline, the doors never raised properly because of the gas struts, the engine was underpowered as well as the alternator, if the battery went dead you were locked in, the plastic was cheap, the aerial was insufficiant for the radio. What a great car!!! (I won't mention the brakes)

  • @Jamie10004

    hi

do you know anything about the cars?, i do i owned one. mine was an early vin.

Panel fit was fine, door struts (plus torsion bar in door) worked perfectly, engine was as quicl as many 80's cars then, plus JD had 'developed' the twin turbo, mine original alternator worked fine, yes you could get locked in with battery or door solenoid failure, plastic was fine, and aerial was ok....the radio was not built by Delorean (original was Craig)

    Brakes were fine 4 discs/6calipers,

  • I love the this John Williams theme - and i absolutly LOVE Deloreans - however I think putting the two together was a bad choice as they've nothing to do with each other. why not have choosen a nice peice of music by Alan Silvestri from the Back to the Future series. - probs not as good as Johnny Williams but at last theres a link! :)

  • @kenergy909 no link whatsoever! The music was good - the car wasn't

  • @kenergy909 I think the core concept is kind of similar though. In Jurassic Park you have a guy who gathers all this money to to turn his dream into a reality only to have it completely collapse. Seems similar when you think of it that way I think.

  • Or starts doing coke.

  • according to the book of John Z Delorean, a rectification centre had to be set up in the USA to practicaly rebuild new cars as they came off the boat, so poorly were they put together. quality control issues and a price tag more than a porsche, Mercedes SL or Corvette (bearing in mind it wasn't really that quick with that emissions strangled Renault V6) doomed it to failure. I'd still love one though, it looks like nothing else

  • @mrspivvy

first few cars had some rebuild...workforce had never built cars!.

emissions strangled V6, by stupid american regulations, as was ride height

doomed as well by pathetic UK government (and i am from UK!) who would rather put people out of work, as they also do today.

  • fuck fbi and cia for all that they done to mr best car builder in the world ever john z, delorean

  • probably the only vehicle in the world that deserves the title: Car. It is and still is a dream and an icon in the world of the 80s.

  • Unfortunate and sad incident, but still an iconic Vehicle none the less.

  • He was a genius period.

  • This is almost tear-jerking. The story of the DMC is like a Greek Tragedy, when you tie together the car, the man who envisioned it, and the people of Dunmurry who built it, and all the emotions that were involved. This video is a perfect tribute to that saga. Bravo!

  • So a Delorean is actually a dinosaur?

  • Hammergeiles Video es lebe der Delorean für immer. Eines Tages werde ich einen besitzen.

  • Theme From Jurassic Park?

Shouldn't it be Back To The Future or something?

  • The music seem appropriate given that an underlying theme of Jurassic Park is reviving the past. DMC exists anew in Houston Texas and seem to be doing rather well.

  • i so love this kind of videos!!! thumbs up man!!! =)

  • A wonderful video.

  • hi this is jphn

  • wunderbares video! der traum lebt weiter!

  • Jurassic DeLorean

  • what was the performance stats of an out the factory delorean anybody?

  • 130hp, 120mph top speed. 0-60mph in about 10.5 seconds. Not too much to really brag about. They were good cars on paper but the U.S. emissions standards and bumper height requirements blindsided Delorean and as a result the car was crippled performance and handling wise. The European D's however had about 170hp. Still not the fastest thing in the world. I learned to drive a stick on an '81 and it wasn't much faster than my '86 Fiero GT I had at the time. It handled GREAT though.

  • The factory production was fine. I knw three people that worked there - good people and good workers.

I was by a guy who was an investor at the time that e wouldn't touch DMC with ten foot barge pole and that was in '81 when the company was doing well. The management weren't investing in the company it was a gravy train that the British government weren't going to waste more money on.

  • Te autko już podczas budowy ma swój wdzięk !!!

  • You can still get your hands on one In Houston I think, With never been used, 20 year old parts. A 20 year old, new Car :) around 40K though :(

  • Great video.

  • finish like Jurassic Park

  • I hope maggie rots in hell for destroying such a great endeavor. That's right, the british government killed the company to spite the Irish. The cocaine ordeal was entrapment. JZD was fully acquitted.

  • nice soundtrack .i'd like to have a delorean my self.but who wouldn't right?

  • damn straight deloreans rule

  • At 51 seconds, what type of fenders are those on the wall? Those are not Delorean parts, the headlight cutout gives that away...

  • your right

  • Jurassic Park score? Why? lol

    What a car though.

  • Makes me cry. Its really great though that the Delorean is being built again in Texas. Lets hope that the Texas Delorean Motor company never goes out of buisnes.

  • i heard they making them till they run out of parts

  • They have plenty of parts. And they keep making new ones everyday. Delorean planned on making 20 to 30,000 cars a year.

  • @diekfamily DMC didn't officially go out of buisiness. John Z DeLorean couldn't manage the company anymore, because being a CEO is quite difficult when you're in prison. :P After he was found innocent on his cocaine trials, his reputation had already tarnished the DeLorean name and demand decreased to the extent that the DMC-12 ceased production.

And the new DMC management from 2008 isn't making compeltely new cars. They're just taking in old models and updating them.

  • can someone help me

i need to know where i can find a delorean

i really dont care if its used but i've wanted one since i was like five

  • save up and get a refurbished one in Houston for 25 grand. or keep an eye on ebay motors. they're always on there. but I'm going for a refurbished DMC in Houston.

  • this same thing is still going on today..... just in Texas and not in Dunmurry, it's hard to believe that only 9000 were built, you'd think they'd built more by the looks of its factory

  • You have to keep in mind that JZD had a goal in mind of 20 - 30,000 cars produced per year.

  • thats true, and that is a total error to think to sell all this exclusive and expensive cars ins such numbers.

  • Cool upload! Great to see how they were made :-)

  • I went to Ireland my self to see that factory, I drove my friend's DeLorean there it was so big and cool. It is sad thinking that just $5,000,000 killed the car's original birth place.

  • check out google earth to see the factory and the test track. 54 32'50.96"N, 6 00'59.23"W copy and paste this into the search bar.

  • It's so sad, that the plant closed. What a great car & great workers. Who thought the dream would always be there, that the car would go on. What a great car.

  • Very interesting. The carts on which the cars were made catched my eye; were they motorized, or just wheeled?

  • Battery Powered Tellius Carriers

  • DeLorean's story reminds me of Tucker, and Bricklin, and Avro Arrow and my dad!

  • great quality film

  • beautiful.

  • excellent, had not seen this vid before
