I actually just followed a woman who had said something about "taking from the rich and giving to the poor" and it lead me to this group of 3. I thought she might have lead me to the theives guild and that she did.
i didn't get it there in time and now i have to find the chick and stop her before she turns in the journal but i have no idea where she is, any help?
and if i'm to late, do i have another shot at rejoining?

when i found the house Methredhel had already got the diary :) so i went into her house and stole the diary and heaps of her stuff, which i then sold to the fence in burma :D

@cDog371 i have read that you need to pickpocket someone (i just attacked a beggar)... then you'll appear at a castle and a goblin will give you a mysterious note... this will activate Finding the thieves guild quest...
@cDog371 I know this has been answered already, but I personally find the easiest way to get this quest is to talk to a beggar, maximize your disposition with them, then ask them about the Grey Fox and they'll spill the beans.
Dont think I did, you do gain infamy though, especially if you are caught in the guild quests. But to be fair, I reckon that happens in any guild you join

Then the begger will tell you where to meet the next guy at 12 AM. After speaking to him do the little mission follow the lady into the location and save your game quickly. Now find the book thing before she does. She walked to it for me. you can also steal all her stuff while she is searching. Enjoy.

@spawnshadow1 I agreed with you, FallOut seemed worst than this game and other games in your mentions. I only lasted till the player escape the secret lab, then it's "getting old" afterward. Oblivion, in my opinion, is better game than Fallout.

Like when theres a glitch and you cant tell if your a vampire or not and all of youir cure disease potions donts seem to be doing anything and all your saves are from ages ago......... But I dont like a lot of stuff about fallout 3 such as how hard it is to get ammo and how hard the enemies are.

alright, i have the solution. go to the temple garden district and ask a beggar that's near the little below-ground pond where you can get a lot of Sacred Lotus. she'll tell you where she lives and when she's home.

you should have the alternate path to it, in case methredel gets to it first, the 2 other quests( either pickpocket her*she has a sneak skill of 65, good luck with that* or talk to armand on the next night, and you'll steal something from the chick who runs "a fighting chance"
Well,They said you cannot kill her,but i dont know if anyone has tried it but i have. but i did is as she was sneaking in the house i sliced her with a sword. At the top left of the screen it will say "she Is unconsious".that gives you much more time to calm down and find the book. If you dont know where the book is jst follow the woman until shes in a room then hit her with ur sword and well you can look for it yourself until you find it.You will find another room in that house.Its not in there

@short537 yes,probably why you were poor,your supposed to actually go out there and do missions,not stay in megaton,i have around 20k caps,i rarely even use them unless i need them to heal my addictions,and i always had ammo in fallout 3,mabye you just don,t know how to play,ive passed everything in the game,shoved almost 200 hours in it and still going :P

alright, i have the solution. go to the temple garden district and ask a beggar that's near the little below-ground pond where you can get a lot of Sacred Lotus. she'll tell you where she lives and when she's home.

you should have the alternate path to it, in case methredel gets to it first, the 2 other quests( either pickpocket her*she has a sneak skill of 65, good luck with that* or talk to armand on the next night, and you'll steal something from the chick who runs "a fighting chance"

Well,They said you cannot kill her,but i dont know if anyone has tried it but i have. but i did is as she was sneaking in the house i sliced her with a sword. At the top left of the screen it will say "she Is unconsious".that gives you much more time to calm down and find the book. If you dont know where the book is jst follow the woman until shes in a room then hit her with ur sword and well you can look for it yourself until you find it.You will find another room in that house.Its not in there
