1st things 1st, i've been a motor engineer for the past 12 years. The engine was only given to Porsche because neither Renault or Peugeot could get any more than 230bhp out of it! This is how good the clio v6 is - 0-60 in the same time as a lot of inline 4 pot motors can do and it tops out at 153! The only reason a french chassis seem good, is because the cars are made of crap materials and are light - hence why they don't last. I would be totally embarrassed if i had to drive one!

Depends what M3 it is. Only the very latest are under 5 seconds and this video is over 4 years old. Its highly likely that the M3 this video was shot from is not a sub 5 second model. Which means it stands a very good chance of losing a drag against a clio v6.

@e36maf3 The american e46 M3 (which had 333hp but shorter gearing) did it in 4.8 seconds and the Euro, with longer gearing and 333 horsepower did it in 5.1. Not six seconds. And the euro is faster after the launch than the US model. Phase one clio v6 did it in 6.2 whilst the phase 2 did it in 5.9 seconds. That is significantly slower. :)
