If your wanting a cockatiel that sings I would prefer a Male bird becaues they make a little more noise. But also it is hard to tell which is a male or female for they look the same. I had a friend of mine take his female cockatiel to a pet shop to pick out a male. But yea I do suggest that you do get a cockatiel. Lots of fun and they can sing songs if you keep playing that one song over and over again.
