  • How have I not seen this before? Because this is an awesome one!

  • is that kacey ainsworth (little mo) in eastenders who is playing the police officer??????????

  • I ve only just found out about this case. Its mad as fuck!

  • Fraud. No sufficient evidence to back up any of their claims. None.

  • That's funny, in the other Enfield Poltergeist program, the chair that moved was a huge and heavy armchair, in these others, it's a little wicker thing. But yes, seeing this one when I was a credulous youth was pretty scary. It just looks scarier in this one, even though its so much smaller and lighter.

  • Notice how much better, and how much more serious the show takes itself compared to todays TV. That's how it was back then, when people made TV they made sure to do it correct.

  • I LOVE THE UK!!!! In my opinion i feel that there is more paranormal phenomena out there than in the U.S. especially due to this case

  • @rockbutt123 Wel, I think there would be due to the fact The history of the UK goes back much longer then the U.S.

  • @rockbutt123 Yeah there some spooky places in the UK.

  • marbles dont bounce wen dropped on a carpet

  • @rambo19962007

    Actually they DO.

  • l loved this show when l was younger, they need it back to replace the crap they show on tv now

  • Enfield poltergeist was a proven hoax, Both sisters publicly stated they faked the phenomenon happening in the house, including the voice. They literally played the investigators. It's on public record and all over the net. The user enfieldpoltergiest blocks peoples accounts when they tell the truth on his vid, he even tells people to google it in his movie trailer!! I don't see the point when he blocks you when you find out the truth and post it.

  • @TheJudgeJoker Didn't they state that they faked SOME of the phenomenon but that the bulk of it was nothing to do with them? They apparently felt under pressure with all the observers around that something should happen to "prove" they weren't lying? Don't get me wrong, the case fascinates me and I'd love to get to the bottom of it, be it genuine or the cause of trickery. But I can't see anything on the net or in books/tv where the family admitted to wholesale fakery.

  • @tabitha501 i dont think there's a chance of them admitting to faking it all if thats the case, thery'll be a lot hinging on the doubt.

  • i was 1 when this happened :o

  • GOOSEBUMPS ON MA ASS...

  • It seems that after you get used to things moving around randomly, if that's all the poltergeist does, then one would simply accept it and move on.

  • @WokOne171 Like I said, in my personal experience which is many decades only the name of Christ and turning your life over to Christ stops it. Sounds nutty but it's true. My friends and other witnesses can attest to this =) I do like Chuck Norris though and Mr.T and btw they're BOTH followers of Christ. Peace.

  • What was the name of this television show?

  • @Milojko91 strange but true i have them all fantats series

  • i loved this programe, still scares me now!!!

  • if the marbel was warm then someone thats warmblooded was holding it. whereas ghosts are cold fucktard :P

  • This shit is more entertaining than boring Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth. Those retards barely find anything except for trivial noises and bumps.

  • @Bomber0907 = Taiwanese Fucktard of YouTube (37 yrs of age)

You go fuck your ANAL whore mama when you need to seek attention by provocation, ok!?

Stop laughing at your own retarded wit too!

    You're a jobless imbecile -- a FACT :) #LOL

  • Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa, Al-Haiyul-Qaiyum La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm, lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-'ard Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi Ya'lamu ma baina aidihim wa ma khalfahum, wa la yuhituna bi shai'im-min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a Wasi'a kursiyuhus-samawati wal ard, wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma Wa Huwal 'Aliyul-Adheem - try reciting this if your having "demon" trouble...see what happens

  • @CGJUGO80 does it really work ?

  • THe woman who plays the mother is a rubbish actress

  • Lucky it was not a Bipolergeist.

  • My wife and I first encountered Poltergeist phenomena, back in 1985. I use the term 'poltergeist' advisedly, as that term really only describes the style of the phenomenon. Things are never quite what they seem, but that's a long story. In any case, my wife and I have been personally 'haunted' for a very long time, and we've now lived at three consecutive haunted houses. When the 'Strange but True' TV series first appeared, our lives were already strange, but true.

  • if it was indeed a hoax, how some really heavy objects were moved by themselves? and how come there are loads of witnesses? including trained police officers?

there are facts to consider. this case will always remain unsolved....

  • is this real footage ?

  • 888??? Spooky

  • The fact objects are hot after they move around indicates some unknown physical anomaly since there is a clear expenditure of energy for the object to heat up. It's probably some bizarre quirk in physics.

  • The reason I'm skeptical of this story is that I've seen a 8 part documentary on youtube called "The Secrets of the Psychics." Every event which occured in the Enfield Case, strange noises, objects moving supposedly on their own & people talking in strange voices, all of these tricks are very old, dating back to the Victorian spiritualism period.

  • theyr are anywere..

  • that police lady made me jizz my pants

  • @generalraven.. Im sure there was money to be made but Peggy and her family made nothing from this..Indeed they still lived on floorboards and remained very poor..It was a terrifying time for them all...peggy also lost a teenage son during the 2yr period of these disturbances... I can assure you the case of the Enfield poltergeist was as real as im sitting here...The memory of it still scares the shit out of me!!!!

  • @210165AJK What do you mean they lost a teenage son? What happened?

  • @TheGraceofChrist He died...I think from cancer..was such a long time ago... very sad...

  • @TheGraceofChrist He died, from cancer I think....can't really remember twas such a long time ago...very sad tho

  • @TheGraceofChrist Oh wow that is very sad. Thanks for answering me.

  • no one knows why there are ghosts and polterguiest activity

has i have had first hand experince

    of such things

has the polterguiset i can not explaine this phenoma untill in happens

to a person it can be really weierd has there is no real known explanation

  • @19624291a they are demons, that IS the explaination. I went through it too for over a decade till I found the answer.

  • If there's any truth to this,I don't know how they kept their sanity. The mother was probably from the generation that lived through the blitzkrieg. This would be more terrifying, though.

  • when I die , I hope I can hang around me house for centuries for the sole purpose of "chucking lego bricks around" that would be very important...

  • @taniaarthur Don't let these fools lead you to believe that these are souls of dead people who "refuse to move on"...the dead cannot see or hear

  • They used the music from the Thing. :D

  • this is bullshit, a faked ghost does NOT count as proof, sure ENERGY (positive or negative) can be left behind but it can't manifest itself as it has no charge from which to flow, and the fact that the book was a huge seller (and the family did everything they could to TRY convince people, who can blame em?) smacks of a cheesy bad set up, i respect peoples opinions or right to believe in ghosts but to claim this is Proof just looks stupid

  • lol...polkagiest. kids are awesome.

  • ...This isn't Harry Enfield... Fucking bullshit...

  • A book came out in the early 80's called This House is Haunted. I'm guessing that some people made quite a bit of money out of this

  • i think that some of it was faked even as the kids said themselves they tested people but i believe parts of this story were not .

  • "The Thing" music FTW!

  • this happened because they were all on lsd, popular drug at the time.

  • mischief maker spirit

  • I think that it would be awesome to live with a poltergeist, but suck to clean up all the time, I would just hire a maid lol.

  • @kiara282 Nah get the ghost to do it. Maybe train it some how. Sort of treating it like a child." Look what a mess you've made! You're going to have to clean all this up now!" Later on maybe get it to start dusting the house or helping to put the washing on the line. Could be quite handy.

  • CHECK OUT THE VERY SCARY "THE UNWELCOME" Based on the true events of the Enfield Poltergeist

  • I looked closely at photographs where supposedly this girl is being "levitated" but the cynic in me cant help but notice that there is a bed nearby (launching pad?) and that her hair is flayed out as if she is on the downward arc of a jump. Starting to smell bullshit here.

  • I thought there were four children in the house, and the bedroom where everything happened was shared by Janet, and one of her brothers (Pete).

  • omfg, this is sooo scary and i'm sooo happy it's morning now that i've watched about 50 of these vids o.0

    Mommy =*(

  • fuckin poltergeist hit me with a lego, NOW ITS ON

  • @66jesko Lego - The most deadly hand to hand combat weapon known to man

  • some people will look for any and every reason to discount these things and nothing will convince them, just like others look for any and every reason to believe things like this

  • maybe she's being haunted because she's such a bitch... snapping at her children at the slightest abnormality...

  • ma ma ma ma po po po po pokerdice !

po po po pa pa pa pa pa pa poketice !

here we are na na na na na my pokerdice ! she's gotta love nobody !

  • rumour has it caroline filled her draws when she saw that chair going to row z on its own and im certain she went in the loft as well

  • How did this case get solved?

  • @shadowgirl9891 It didn't get solved really. The case just slowed down, the activity stopped, Janet was taken to a hosptial to check her for mental illness, the investigators all left, some thought it was real, others thought that the events were faked. The family were quite private for a while, later on in the papers, the two sisters admitted to faking alot of it, although they later said that they only faked a bit of it.

  • Ghosts haunt houses-poltergeists haunt people..!

  • 1977 could be the ghost of elvis M.O. T.

  • long live the King...ELVIS Presley

  • this scared the hell out of me as a kid

  • i cannot believe they haven't made a movie about this yet

  • LMAO shec ried when the door opened XD

  • @66PixieOfDeath6 *cried

  • why didnt they just call an exorcist :I

    makes you think...

  • i watched another interview where the photographer shows he was hit on the right brow not the left... weird huh

  • @batoresi interesting point, you've just shown that over time people become less clear about what they really saw. Human memory has it's limits and so does our perception. My personal view is that this case was a hoax.

  • i watched another interview and he points to the right brow not the left...just a thought

  • What's with using the music from Carpenter's The Thing?

  • crying at a draw opening lol

  • interview with a poltergeist was made later

  • why didint they just go live with a family member i would

  • how bad are the speacial effects lol

  • rite the ghost just pushed something infront of the door so they decide to walk past it hahahahahah lol

  • Everyones still alive exept for Maurice Gross who passed away a few years ago.I bet hes up there right now having words with old Billy Boy.

  • is janet still alive??????

  • @babyscottish12 Yeah, but the aftermath, the psych unit etc had a real effect on her. She is totally traumatised by it. She was obviously feeling totally ostracised by the family.

  • I think she was a mentally disturbed girl, from a broken family, no father, probably getting little or no attention. By pretending to be "Bill" suddenly she gets all the attention she wants. If you look back into the history of poltergeist stories most centre around adolscent girls. Also if you look at photos of Janet which were taken of her as a girl, without wishing to sound unkind, she did look very unusual, you might even say strange or disturbed.

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33

This documantray isn't very reliable I have to say. But you try speaking like she did for an hour or two (witch is what she did) you will see that your voice will go, also I don't know if you know that Bill actuley did exsist, the investigatrs checked the records and a previous owner was called Bill . His son even comfirmed that he died in his chair when he was 72 just after a book about the house was published. The stupid character count wont let me finish what I want

  • He did indeed die in that house. But maybe the girl found that out before, it wouldn't have been difficult. Also If the voice went on to tell private details which only Bill could have known then I might believe it but instead the voice spent most of the time swearing & making childish remarks, not unlike a 12/13 year old child. As for the voice, ventriloquists are able to put on funny or strange voices for hours without any side effects, maybe the girl was just very good at funny voices?

  • nice "the thing!!"type synthesiser!

  • @pdw2309 John Carpenters Assault on preceint 13

  • this story is very very familiar.

  • Saw this in 1996, not a bad 25 min telling of an amazing story

  • Trying to keep calm? Jesus tapdancing Christ, she could have fooled me. Looks like she was scaring the hell out of those kids in the re-enactment.

  • Sorry i dont agree with you lizvandort666,

Poltergeists can "Latch on" to people i have had cases that this happens! so to move house is not always the way to get rid of the entity!

  • @jamiegobangbang that's true and didn't another documentary on this say that they went on vacation and the bugger still pestered them?

  • @loyboys Yes they did. And going back to the case of "The Bell witch" the entity would quite freely go from house to house, person to person.

  • @USEDTOLOVEHER never heard that one before, any links?

  • @USEDTOLOVEHER The legend of the Bell Witch is based alot on folklore. It seems to be alot of hysterical hype created after the supposed events took place.

  • @jamiegobangbang HA! Jimmy Carr couldn't top this joke!!

  • @jamiegobangbang -I know what that means, "latch on"...

  • @jamiegobangbang that's because they are DEMONS looking for a host.

  • @TheGraceofChrist Demons don't need a host. They are moving around us at all times so fast we don't see them and unless you are using Ki or the psychic part of your mind they don't care about you. evil spirits mess with humans more than demons do.

  • @ChaoticKn They may not need a host but I have witnessed them taking a host at least half a dozen times.

  • @TheGraceofChrist I never said they couldn't do it. Everyone is able to use the psychic part of their mind but we closed it off as kids because adults told us we were wrong. Some are naturally stronger psyichicly and then the demons find them as fun targets it might be that because the psychic part is open and humans don't know how to control it so we can't throw them out yourselves.

  • @ChaoticKn - In my personal experience they only bowed to the name of Christ.

  • @jamiegobangbang That may be the case, however in other documentaries, there are recordings of the poltergeist saying that it came to see it's family, but they are not there anymore. So I don't think that this poltergeist would latch itself onto the family, but latch itself onto the house instead

  • unless the family move the activity may stop

poltergeist activity is more negative energy focouses on a person than a place

  • Very very interesting. Intriguing too, it seems almost impossible that Janet, the little girl, is causing all the activity. But you second guess and think, it just could be something else, even if the children did play pranks on everybody sometimes.

  • Yeh they say in a chinese accent 'me so solly mr greeeeefesss'

  • What I do is I grab the poltergeist and go 'OH PRICK FUCK OFF YOU FUCKING DEAD BASTARD' That scares em off usually :) xD

  • lmao!! Poker dice. xD

  • "I was hit on the head with a lego brick... that brought it home... it was personal then" Is that really what that guy just said??? LMFAO!

  • If you go from a state of not believing in these things something as unnatural of being hit by something that shouldn't be flying around can be quite unnerving because it steps outside that persons realm of logic.

  • I remember this when it hit the papers and it was taken really seriously. It was in the papers, I was very young and it scared the crap out of me. Apparently poltergeist activity is attracted to the young, children and teenagers and such...kinetic "ghost" energy. I would be so scared if that happened to me or my family. Thanks for uploading this !! x

  • you sure can't hurt it but you can break it

  • you could move

  • I watched this when it was first broadcast and it scared the shite outta me lol. C

  • something about morris just makes the whole thing cheery

  • Interresting for shure ghosts

  • this is real btw my mum said it was on the news

  • that lady sure had some big ass glasses on

  • Those aren't glasses, those are hot house window panes!

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • 1:23 - See? I told you it wasn't us mom, now I expect an apology and then get the hell out of our room! :)

  • they used the thing music, I dont think it was the kids cus that case has been noted down in far more detail than we probably know of. It would be funny if they did throw it though.

  • Second time ive seen this still scary ^-^

  • The kids did it. Duh.

  • Did you SEE that? The picture jumped up and down, and NOBODY touched it!

Heck! It just did it again!! OOO000OOOOoooo

  • man I shouldn't be watching this before bed, but I am any way.

  • its down green street mate

  • god when i was a kid i used to watch Strange But True and then go to school the next day and talk about it with all my mates.....its cheesy but still scares me shitless...aaaaaa

  • I used to be afraid to go and brush my teeth by myself in the bathroom afterwards, as it was bedtime, as I was very young.

  • me too, lol!

  • What ould the police do ? Nick it for breaking and entering ?

  • lmao! amazing

  • I remember this episode to this day - the rocking chair sliding across the room and rocking, the girl levitating - and I can't believe I've just watched this after all this time!

  • whats the address, i live in enfield

  • I was scared witless when i saw this as a kid - seems so cheesy now!

  • a good mate grew up 1/2 mile from green street, he remembers it well

  • this is a true haunting

    scary if you ask me

  • HAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHAHAH the chair i have never laughed so hard

  • lol at 6:45

  • hahaha i didnt even get onto it hittin him on the hed till i watched it again, i fort it jus landed next to him lmfao!

  • lol

  • If this is a hoax it has involved the mother (convincingly) and both sisters, and Gross the investigator, and Morris the photographer, and Playfair the writer, over 15-30 years, all of whom were witnesses.

  • i thought this family didnt do interviews any more-due to people thinking they had faked things and wanted their privacy??

  • The last i heard, the family havent done any interviews since this was filmed for granada television in 1992. I know of several paranormal societys who have asked the family to speak out about what they experienced during their time in the house, each time theyve been asked, they have refused point blank. I believe they were also approached by a certain sky channel to do a documentry on the enfield poltergeist, again the family refused. Im not sure if the mum is still living...

  • BOTH sisters were interviewed for the 'Interview With A Poltergeist' documentary (part of Channel Four's 'Occult Week') in 2007.

  • I was living out of the country in 2007, so i missed the documentry..plus i did say the last i heard...

Did the brother jimmy ever do any interviews? i find it odd it was always the girls who gave accounts and not the brother who lived at home at the time of the haunting..

As for morris the photographer being part of a hoax, he worked for the mirror at the time, and its not like the mirror paper to bend the truth slightly is it lol...

  • I remember watching this when I were a Lad! The Music's well good really adds to the suspense! "Dum Dum, DUM DUM......."

  • Polkadice.

  • spooky

  • I remember this case well. I grew up with poltergiest problems in my own home & we had 2 teenage girls in our house at the time. However, on reading about this case at length I came to believe there was no doubt there was genuine phenomena going on, but there came a time that the kids involved in this one did a little play acting and staged a few things to continue the attention factor. That was a shame, because it detracted from the REAL phenomena which was quite compelling in itself.

  • If you look at any haunting that was carried in the press, theres always been bits added on and tricks played...look at borley, another genuine haunting that was turned into a media circus thanks to harry price. Theres no doubt in my mind this case was genuine, but that the kids did pull a few stunts here and there. This story has to be the best poltergiest cases of the past 32 years! Read this house is haunted by guy lyon playfair, its the official investigation into the haunting..good stuff!

  • I agree, it is an excellent book-and it sheds light on so much more than we see here. i loved it, finished it in a day.

  • really pleased you enjoyed it. I think it gives an honest and frank account of what happened. Its very in depth and accurate, Its a book ill go back to again and again...

  • Nice movie.

  • dressing gown and slippers ? if i was that worried no chance

  • AHHHHH ITS A DRAW lmfao

  • Yeah, that was pretty damn hilarious

  • "Borrowing" the "TheThing" theemesong really helped on the scary atmosphere ;)
