The best way to train the brachialis is doing a curl with the hand in a pronated position. The bicep will flex the elbow when the hand is in a supinated or nuetral position. So hammer curls are mainly strengthening the bicep. If you want to train the brachialis do reverse curls.
That was AWESOME...you know, the way the hammer curl training was UNLEASHED, and all. I've been keeping my hammer curl training leashed, which was obviously the problem.
You can do a superset with this, do concentrated biceps curls with both hands, one at a time, then change to hammer curls without rest. Guaranteed that you'll feel a burn :)
I have many question people been giving me alot of different answers, but I wanna know the true, i'm trying to gain weight, "20 pounds" and I only have dumbbells to work with, no barbell, I need workouts to help increase mass, any info, i'm on week 24, i'm 19 yrs old, 150 pounds at the moment, 5'8
@ninjaman1777 yeah. doing one arm at a time and then together and counting that has one rep is a killer workout, especially if you don't do it often. To make it even more challenging, I will do twenty-ones imeditely after.
@a9bomb Moving his elbow will make him able to lift bigger( its not the point of bodybuilding BUT ) when the dumbell will come down it the resistance will be much higher than you are able to lift,, wich creates big micro traumas...
Good video, nice pace. I also liked how he explained what this would do for you. I just got done doing them a couple hours ago, I'm going to do them for awhile now.
yea this works perfect , but with more weight, you get quick results when you are doing negatives and positives just like he is doing in the video. GOOD VIDEO
I switched from alternating to simultaneous a couple of weeks ago and I get a better result this way.

Moves his elbows too much, for greater size&burn keep your elbows in place.
