It's not Elmore James on lead guitar here, he sings only. This was a session cut for Chess (the only one he did for them), the album Whose Muddy Shoes, credited to Elmore James and another guy (the guitarist here) whose name I can't remember right now. If I remember it or if I check some old books and I find it I'll let you know. If you find the Whose Muddy Shoes album written in a discography somewhere you'll have the guy's name too
John Brim is the guy co-credited with Elmore James for the Whose Muddy Shoes album, I just checked. Very little is known about Elmore James, there are no interviews or footage, and on some of his records there's a guitar that doesn't sound like him (no slide, standard tuning, etc..) like on this song, for instance. I'm not 100% sure who it might be, and nobody really explained it, as far as I know. Mine is only an 'educated guess' really. Thanks for posting this
Sounds like Wayne Bennett
steelyodis 4 months ago in playlist YouTube Mix for Elmore James
Eddie taylor was most likely the other player, it is his style for sure.
