people are actually collecting vintage 70s cassettes, now i have seen it all. i have a whack of em, some are still sealed from the 80s and never looked at them as something to collect. good vid
I still use casette tapes today, my camera has such noisy boomy sound, it's hard to hear what people say in my vidoes, so I use a seperate microphone and record the sound on to a tape, then sync that up in the video when I edit it.
A quality tape cassette has need a well done tape recorder and in good working order ,possibly with dolby system...when this happens, this "old method" can give a type of sound wich is really comparable to modern audio sources like cd or Ipod... but with a really big and noticeable difference ... the tapes have a sounding warm and natural !!!
nice work!!!! i am surprised how many (formerly well known) brands were available, and even more surprised that i owned most of the examples mentioned in the video. especially, because i tend to tell people: 'me as an audiophilic, i only used maxell xl II (s)-tapes and at most some tdk or basf ones...' ;) thanx for waking some nostalgic feelings....
That's the most exciting clip I've ever seen:-) More than 70 kind of the cassettes I never had,but the other ones I'm having so long ago.And some more Sony AHF, BHF,some BASF from 1975,some Scotch Dyanarange and many more. But it is a very precious collection.Congratulations:-))))
I knew about 25 of these... and the tape at 2:03 (XLII-S90 maxell) was the most reliable one.
