yay! no suckstwelve. good thing FS stopped making those pieces of crap. You know what Federal should make to help fight the Whelen? An electronic revival of the Thunderbolt. The Modulator could use some backup, and the ThunderVolt (that's what I would call it) would be the perfect solution. Basically a Modulator that rotates and has a louder tone, it can simulate the sound of a 1003- and looks like one, too. Those Whelens won't stand a chance if such a siren is created.

Liveleak has a vid with a tiny island getting submerged 95% as the tsunami passed. It was as if the tide suddenly went up 1 and 1/2 feet.

It's a super long period wave so it takes a long time for the back of the wave to drop back down again. That's why it is more like a tide rising fast instead of a barreling singular wave.

yes it was smart, the wave only gets huge once it hits the sand bars near the islands underwater and rises up, out at sea it's barely noticeable so as long as boats get way out to sea away from the islands they will be okay

haha it's all good I really don't know, I know next to nothing about this situation but I know that as a rule ships should be out at sea and not near the coast or sitting in open port unless they want to end up on land crushed. Not sure about the all clear signal, there may be one tomorrow or something once there is no chance of tsunami waves hitting
