  • @Kemitzri AMEN!!

  • One problem with a lot of small black businesses is that they do not supports each other that's why their prices sre so high. It's like they stand alone on their own island

  • They just use them as a face but they really do not own those companies just like a sports player advertising for Nike or Reebok

  • True...I usually don't care for your videos but I can see your more than just a black guy who appears to bash the black community & black women. You put me in the mind of Bill Cosby...good video!!!

  • @DMB1985CA Sounds like all the charactistics of a typical white person. Die out already!

  • yo my brother since Africa blacks had businesses but the experience of post columbus era disrupted that. blk nations self destruct no cooperation."corporations" .

blks dont have business cause they rather just build a hut instead of have a group work together to build a more opulent dwellings. plus blks dont want to pay others for their skills and products (whites too, thus slavery and now factories in communist China) You be bugging cause you dont get the bigger historical picture.

  • @DMB1985CA Why dont you stick to being what you are,a sheet and dunce cap wearing loser racist who probably cant satisfy his wife.

  • v good

  • so some comment about the end of the video. Its true when you give them the money they can do what ever they like. however when you give money to the corner business thats black AND live in a black community then you keep the money in your community and allow your community more economic power. So for example when you see good schools in rich communities it's because the people there have more money. if one guy on your block is rich it adds to the money the school gets from property tax.

  • YOU ARE WRONG. We MUST empower the black heros that always come to our rescue. When our car breaks down and we cant afford main steam automotive prices we call a friends cousin who works on cars to fix our car as an example. these heros come to our rescue regarding a whole gambit of other issues such as carpentry work, landscapeing, and small appliance repair. Why dont we as black people support other black people obtain and maintain business allowing our own unsung heros to thrive.

  • Check out the Black Biz Hookup that is giving Black Owned and Operated Businesses a chance to sell their products and services through "Group Buying" Check it out today

  • programming such as me and a few other people starting classes for children.. and I dont get a call back or anything.. or you have to have a name for yourself to get in the door. I see so many well known businesses combining their services to keep them above water but we dont do that..Its sad..I know alot fo people who are drowning right now..i feel the pressure that comes from not being supported by your own..

  • I am a jewelry designer..i create recycled jewelry pieces from women jewelry junk...my mission is to show women that it is fun to recycle and get rid of the clutter in their lives...its sad that i make these pieces from my heart and i dont get the support even just people donating their clutter..so that someone else can appreciate that treasure..I get out and meet people attend networking events..I was even talking to some black owned businesses especially book stores about bringing

  • Im a black business owner i feel that we don't support black own business even when it's affordable. Blacks have more problem owning a business then any other race. But it funny how every other race post their business in our neighborhoods. I think that we should start supporting our own business so we can grow and lower our prices. I had a friend to open a gym she felt that she shouldn't let people no that she is black because she would get less support.

  • @ruse822 I know exactly how your friend feels. I started up an apparel company in 2009 and black people simply didn't want to pay for my work. They were always trying to haggle. In 2010 I concealed my identity when I started selling online and business was great. To many blacks a black owned business means inferior quality so they expect lower prices. It's sad really.

  • @TheDreamReborn i owe my own hardscaping and landscaping company; im mexican, let me say this; who gives a fuck about race; when you own a business, your objective to make money, not make friends, be a charity or whatever.. only people you should benefit is you and your family thats it; if u go to mexican or el salvadorean restaurant they dont care about benefit hispanic community no they want their money, you know why its business

  • @ruse822 I wish I could find a Black owned gym (especially by a Black female). I'd join in a hot second.

  • GREAT VIDEO! I'm posting this on my FB page. A friend of mind's "realladylike" just did a video that is basically about the same things you speak of. The "black empowerment movement," is a JOKE. Many of the so-called heroes of the so called black communities are nothing more than "hood victim vendors." They sell excuses to the black community and they perpetuate the WELFARE MINDSET. In short, those who do such are the true representatives of the words NIGGER and SELL-OUTS...

  • Jeffery who?

  • @vkain100 Geoffrey Canada. I believe this is who I mentioned in this video.

  • @TheDreamReborn Ok thaks i'll check him out.

  • @TheDreamReborn he started a group of schools that operate in very improvised zones and do a great job teaching. see "waiting for superman". I'm a black business owner too. I have a comic book called captain kacela universal ranger.

  • Do you reckon black people always want the best things (whether we can afford it or not) because we instinctively feel we have a long-term entitlement to enjoying the best fruits of the planet, being that we are the original people?

Are we just instinctively trying to enjoy OUR LEGACY whether it be owned by arabs, asians or whites?

I don't support excessive materialism but this is just my theory of what may be going on in the psyche.

  • This guys not touching on the important points. What is a person to do when your color trumps your talent. i know blacks who own business and they carry themselves very well but they cant be taken seriously. We dont get 100,000 dollar loans to survive off of it till the storm is over but the whites do, We have to survive off of skill and a bunch of hope. this guy may be african but hes not raised on our turf so he doesnt know the whole story.

  • It's VERY clear that the guy who creates these videos is an AFRICAN black man and not an African American.

Everything he says is TRUE, but why is he surprised? The TRUTH about how most people get ahead in America IF they start with nothing is by WORKING WITH THE SYSTEM, not standing alone and trying to CHANGE the system.

Let the buyer beware. At least some of the American blacks have figured out a way to come up.

  • No money is needed to support black owned businesses!you can just recommend it to others.

  • I don't agree that most Black business are way to expensive due to a "lack of business skills"... they are too expensive because of the lack of support (supply/demand), they need more people to buy so the prices can go down... in the mean while they need to pay there bills.

Black people would have more money if they stop or limit the support for whites/arabs/asia in there businesses like churches, schools, grocery stores, convience stores etc.

  • @kemetic26 That's business skills. They should be figuring out how to get more demand. I started 2 businesses and I work hard at creating a demand and figuring out how to maintain it.

The Arabs/Asians come into black communities and they supply what the blacks demand. Hair products and corner stores. It's only after they dominate the market that blacks step up. By that time it's already too late and the field is way too saturated.

  • @TheDreamReborn

"They should be figuring out how to get more demand."

    That's marketing too.

  • @controversyking integration wasn't really for our good afterall

  • Here are some of the tools we should use to make supporting black business work.

    1. Collective banking where no black owned banks are.

    2. Upper middle class family must move back into the urban areas to be a living example

    3. Go to college get a good education TO START & OWN more black owned businesses.

    4. Stop living above your means. We must learn to wait for some things.

    5. Learn & Teach our children the value of money

    support BLACK OWNED BUSINESS

  • @docphat1 You make some good points. Unfortunately this isn't happening. As it stands now, most black owned businesses are just way too expensive because the owners don't have enough business skills.

  • @TheDreamReborn Your mis informed and unfortunately you've become part of the problem. please don't get defensive. instead please look up "Greenwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma" this was known as the Black Wall Street.

your presuming that no views that oppose yours are valid and their First Amendment Right should be taken away? also you fail to understand macro economics. wallmart + small business(black or white) = higher prices for the small business (compared to wallmart)

    look up the BWS

  • This madness must stop here & now. God bless this brother but you are misguided & wronge. To say some of things said in this response is totally misguided. Yes you should support black owned business and here is why.

    1. Business builds wealth. Wealth gives you power in all aspects of our community. Fact without power/ wealth you have no politcal power. Without politcal power you don't control how money or your taxes are used in your community.

  • I think you are oversimplifying this subject a bit......

  • To support a black business you have to be commited (to do the extras) i use to be commited to this. I did this because I liked the ideal of my money ending up with a 100% black family. But now a days you don't know who's hand the money may end up in - so I'm no longer commited.

  • @totaly52 So true. Most of the businesses in black neighbourhoods are ran by whites and asians who simply employ black people to give an impression of a black owned business.

  • Going to college does not gurantee a person success , but going to college doesn't garuntee success either. Granted, there are a few degrees out there that grant you access to a better lifestyle than the one you previously had, but the majority of people don't attained those marketable degrees. If I didn't want to study nor was any of those fields that are marketable , then I wouldn't go to college ? Why drown in thosuands of dollars of debt if you degree deosn

    't mean anything jobwise?

  • 1-2) Love the accent babe! And your video was a huge eye-opener and it gave me relief. B/c like you mentioned, how are we going to support Black-owned businesses when we can't afford to or have to drive across town to? Black business owners gotta step it up and compete properly.

  • @EricaYE6 Thanks Erica! :)

  • @TheDreamReborn You're very welcome. Take care!

  • 2-2) And yes, Blacks who are millionaires and billionaires should help out the Black community with more scholarships and putting some of their money in a pool or something to help poor Black People. Who else is going to help Black People?

  • There is no reason not to support Black owned business unless the company corrupts the young ones like Soulja boy music.

  • @controversyking What do u mean blacks want to be white??? They were raised like that!!! u cant force them to be part of ur culture... I bet u wouldn't say that to a dominican guy and force him to act black just because he looks and has your same DNA...

  • We need MORE Black businesses. If we had more Black owned businesses in Black areas competing for the same Black customers then wouldn't this keep prices in check?

  • How does supporting Black businesses help the Black community?

If we do support Black businesses doesn't this help those businesses to stay open, expand and hire more Blacks in the area reducing Black unemployment?

  • As far as needing college to be "successful".

Well success means different things to different people. Get clear on what success is to you and then map out the route needed for for idea of success.

  • TheDreamReborn is race traitor done and done.

  • @Twilight8888 so he's betraying the human race then....

  • When u say "forcing themselves onto MY people"...what do you mean?

  • White people market to poor black people, so black people should market to white and black to take some of the wealth back to black community.

  • We should support black businesses as other nationalities support their own businesses over any others.

  • Support BLACK OWNED Business!!!!

  • The whole country is bankrupt and in foreclosure.Black,white,asian.The whole United States is hurting.K-mart is for poorer people or Wal-mart.I agree if the price is not right it don't matter to me.

  • It has nothing to do with what race you are, if you're living in a capitalist nation, we're all bred to be consumers. Race is just a demographic for marketers. A white person isn't any better at using their money wisely. A Jew, maybe...

  • In the U.S., there are 823,500 black-owned businesses that generate $71 billion in revenues.

African American owned businesses make up 4% of the nation's 20.8 million non-farm businesses and 27% of its 3 million minority owned farms.

38% of the nations African American owned businesses are owned by women, a higher percentage than any other minority ethnic group. Black Press. repeat the lie long enough and people believe it.

  • your last point about college is something to think about, bill gates and token millionaires that didn't finish college really can be the exception

  • I definately know what your saying. As a sista I get tired of going to stores where I experience prejudice and because I know many of our people consume so much. I really want to support my people. But I can't stand seeing unprofessionalism and a don't care attitude when I want to purchase from my own

  • I felt the same way until i thought about how all the other races treat me when i buy from them.....THE SAME DAMN WAY. Your point is?

  • White people that middle class and upper middle class with large sums of disposable income budget shop and find deals. White people are not caught up with consumer items as status symbols. An ipod may be cool, but that is because it is within an affluent white's price range. Poor blacks, whites, latinos etc., do not think like that. They do not shop smart. The more expensive something is the more status you have. White consumerism is the exact opposite.

  • there are many whites buying out of their price range...they are losing homes and cars

  • Hence, the reference to middle class and upper middle class whites in my very first sentence. The people who are not foreclosing and going bankrupt.

  • "White people are not caught up with consumer items as status symbols. "

    ???

  • Thats not true.White people may not spend it on jewelry but they love boats and hunting type stuff.Taking 3 or 4 vacations a year.I have white friends they spend money like it gonna rot too.

  • LIE!!

  • There arent white buying out of their price range..I bet you've never heard of CA.

  • @sandroeleven yes most whites live off of credit cards and are in huge amounts of debts.

  • @takesun2 you are correct, my hubby and I stayed in luxury apartments last year because we don't have children and could afford it. Any who there was this white couple with 2 teenage children who lived across from us and they had the nerve to own a beautiful luxury car. I was confused because you would think they would invest their money in a small house instead of a luxury car. I seen that so much there and trust me those apartments were not cheap. We moved to a townhome for the same amount.

  • WOW, and you know this how??? I think America in general has terrible spending habits. People of all ranges have issue with spending on a budget. Saying "middle class and upper middle clas with large sums of disposable income budget shop and find deals" is basically an opinion not a fact. There are people who are rich, well to due, struggling and poor who are deep in debt and some who are managing just fine because or good planning.

  • test 123

  • whats your point? really? *rolls eyes*

  • Uh whats your pont...

hes tellng hes opiniion on things stop rolling your eyes and maybe you will see that.

  • Dumbass.

  • well i see no fuckin point in u makin these bullshit vids peo are goin to do want they want U r the reason y black people are looked down by whites i buy nice shit cuz i like it noone say u got 2 by nice shit u can look like a fuckin bum if u want

  • Who cares if whites look down at us? Worry about how u look at ur self. If you want to spend all ur money on so called "nice things" then go right ahead...look good, stay broke and keep working for somebody els.

  • Mostly true. Alot of black people these days buy expensive shit and expect me to give them lunch money with $100 shoes on while I have beat up shoes. Ain't gonna happen! My mom has ALWAYS SINCE BIRTH explained and showed me values and ways to save money and get the best bang for the buck. And the thing about college; how many people DO YOU KNOW dropped out of college and made millions? I bet at least %85 of the readers of this comment will answer no.

p.s.: To clear up any confusion, I',m black.

  • Ok, you black and? Alot of blacks want to be white and will down there own people to look good for the white people but, that's not you....is it?

  • NO! I love being black! It's just the deception that society has put out to make every race except those who lack melanin as bad people. But really, we're all PEOPLE! No matter sex, race, age, religious background, ect.

  • It's obvious you only have a certain view of who black people here are. I see that you have been exposed to people who have been mentally trained to continue slave-like behavior. There are those who don't adhere to those attitudes. Find them and build with them.

  • I am not that shallow. I am aware that not all black people in America think like this. Do I really need to say that though. Isn't it fairly obvious?

  • What about the Black people who DO SUPPORT the community? The people that give back to those who provide goods and services for their people?

  • I want to know one thing: What is your purpose for making these videos? what are you trying to accomplish? Some of the points you made are valid. Do you like Black people, or are you trying to figure out the slave mentality of the Black people here in the U.S.? That is where I see you going with these videos.

  • I make these videos for this exact reason. To discuss them as you and I are doing right now. I like to hear alternative views to my videos. In a way, I'm probably trying to figure out the slave mentality that many African-Americans have. At the end of the day it's a learning experience for me and anyone else who views my videos and discusses them.

  • Fuck them, I say no. I will not Support Them or any other black business. FUCK BLACK BUSINESS.

  • THE DREAM REBORN:

They certainly produce a higher calibre of idiot in the West Indies.

  • I don't want or need your support. Dude, you sound like a real idiot with this BS!

  • When you support black business ,it enables them to expand their business and provide more job for the communities. That`s one of the many ways blacks benefit.

  • The reason why Black owned hair salons might be more than Korean owned is because Black hair salon owners purchase their hair products from mostly Korean vendors. The Korean vendors will sell their products to Korean biz owners at a handsome discount while they will sell them to the Black owner at full price.

  • I agree.

  • Then black people need to get into wholesale. This is how a business operates. Work your way to the top if you want to provide the cheapest product.

  • i agree with the end part of the audio where it will take some time to correct peoples thinking or acknowlegement.

  • The extreme racism we used to have for the "state of emergency" you've listed.

Blacks gained equal rights yet they're now a selfdestructive problem. What kills me is that most have welcomed these habits as "culture".

  • Ah, I thought u meant racism. Nevermind then. That's regularly the argument I hear.

LOL if you look at it differently, it seems that was the trade.

  • Blacks are not in a "state of emergency". lol that's laughable.

You were over 60 yrs ago when discriminating acts were permitted by US laws.

It's 2009, and I strongly doubt anyone's forcing you off a water fountain or a bus.

  • excellent vid!!

  • "support any Black person who's making a positive step in life"

see thats where in lies the problem. there is not enough "positives". we have a bunch of self promoters or self aggrandizing individuals that you can't even feel comfortable supporting them.

  • Life is hard. You get confused.Buy black, buy white lol.I want to buy knowledge to spread wisdom.Real talk...

  • These guys are joke 2 society. They dont care about their community but themselves. Besides it doesnt matter how big these black businesses are white people still control us.

  • I agree with kanusouth1st. that all other ethnic groups like arabs, koreans etc take from the black community. And I do agree with you on the Jay Z, Puffy image. I suggest that you read Powernomics, The National Plan to Empower Black America. By Claud Anderson.

  • I hope you realised what you just said,

"During the Jim crow days when Blacks were segregated, Blacks had no choice but to buy from Black businesses."

This is not Jim Crow days. We do not need to box ourselves in and limit the places we are allowed to solicit. This could only make matters worse. As I said in the video, you will give blacks an imaginary sense of business and then one day you would pull that rug from under them because you discovered Ping sold for cheaper next door.

  • good vid

  • I look at the price and quality of the product offered. If a black owned business expect sales with poor service they are sadly mistaken. But I have here recently come across some black owned retail shops with impeccable service.

  • I agree with you, its like a lot of black business owners tend to neglect the community that enriches them.

  • I can't in good conscious not support black business but this issue unfortunatly more complicated. You gotta understand business more. Peace!!!

  • Anyone we give the black dollar to becomes rich. Why would it be ok to give the money to a none black, so they can be richer, but not the black person?

Both parties do with the money what they like. I support black business that are willing to give back... Make a change in their community. Which is rare! But I don't like to give to the greedy business owners. You can tell the difference.

  • Business is for the purpose of making money and NOT to become welfare for the poor. Blacks want things for free and cheap from Black businesses, but will pay high dollars for Tommy Hilfiger and Gucci.. Coach Louie Vutton, etc... But you think Black should stay poor and give away their business to the poor Blacks. lol Stop hatin

  • This is a complicated issue here. Peace!!!

  • I agree, when blacks put out a clothing line that is cheap, like Stephon Marbury, people laugh at it, call it bootleg. But they'll break the bank for some $200 Jordans, or $600 Sean John jacket.

Business is business, but my only qualm with Diddy and Jay-Z is of all things why do they have to sell alcohol? I can't stand 50 Cent, but at least he's not selling poison. I think Vitamin water is newly packaged Kool-Aid, but the last thing our community needs is encouragement to drink.

  • You are right.... Diddy and Jay z is selling an IMAGE, because they know Blacks will buy the alcohol. Drugs are rampant in the Black community, and Black men are being slaughtered everyday as a result. Weed, Alcohol and Money gets the Black women.

  • Not this one, lol

  • lol

  • LoL.

  • Exactly. When Jordan released his "limited edition" shoe last year(I believe it was around thanksgiving) there were people camping outside the NBA Store in Manhattan more than a week in advance. What did they ALL have in common? Yes, they were ALL black. Why didn't the same enthusiasm ensue for Starburys when they were released?

  • You don't support Black businesses because you don't want to support them. I bet you still buy food and clothing from White, Asian and Arab stores and don't complain about the prices. Willie Lynch mentality.

  • Don't get caught up on the title. If you listened to the video you would know that I do support businesses ran by black people. I just won't support a business based solely on the owner's race.

  • I agree with that.

  • this is why black people are in the CRISIS THAT WE ARE IN

  • I feel that black people should research good black business and support. What do you think other people do?

  • all thats gonna do is fill up these big headed black business owners head..even more...half of dem doh even sell anything of substance..

They probably are referring to black history..because im sure..science isnt in black an white.
