amm a form its supossed to be a "demostration" of combat... and im still looking for the demostration of this form.. I dont see the... "point" of slapping himself and looking at the floor... IMAO
No, a form CAN be a demonstration of movement. I can be a historical record, or a bunch of basics strung together. For the record though, the slaps I believe are checks and he may well be looking at his opponent.
@Lechxim The slapping helps muscle memory when putting your hands where you need to, and can be used to show where key breaks and locks should be, also, he may be looking at the ground because that is where his "opponent" went. If this is a true lima lama form, ask politely for the maker of this video to make one of the application with a partner/partners and I'm sure you will understand what is going on.
yeah no really, the his entire form looks lack it lacks any power at all and would only be good for beating up a women, or maybe a small child... i don't know much martial arts, but i wouldn't mind sparing with this guy, what is he 5'6 at the most? every lima lama video i've seen or combo has stuff in it that they could do with out, like all the backhand shit to the front side of the torso, and any blows to the back... is just stupid
sure i would, he's not that fast, he's short, and he's old... plus he thinks all that slapping would hurt me... but anyway... sparring isn't very realistic either way you look at it, i definitely wouldn't wanna fight him for real, he might snap one of my limbs in half (if he could catch me)
pal your a moron. You know nothing of the martial arts and you really do not know what your talking about. He's faster than you can ever hope to be and your reach doesn't change the fact that he can mop the floor with you. If your so sure you can take him go tell him yourself. I'll bring the camera and will gladly post the video of you getting your ass handed to you buy that old short guy.
sorry i don't feel like flying on a plane to god knows where, just to prove myself to some youtube blogger who calls people a moron who in the very same sentence uses the term your in the wrong context (it's you're(you did it more than once))
You said it, you don't know much about martial arts, about manners neither, your'e 20 by now and you still behave like a child. I'm sure Master Lugo has some more important things to do than "spar" whit you. Here's something to expand your martial arts knowledge: "Never judge a book by it's cover"...
@dHARMa187 training with ismail you have one view of how tiger style is. kenpo is a whole different take on martial arts, equally valid, with it's own power generation nd it's own methods that make sense when you leatn the theory of it, investigate for yourself, research, open your mind.
Nice Polynesian dance move! I wish Grandmaster Tito was alive so He would show to the world that you studied under him and all of these martial artists from Mexico would stop hating you for they claim that Lima Lama has a stronger root in Mexico. Who knows how it got there but Sensei Lugo would have been the next Grandmaster in line for grandmastership. Keep up the good work!!!
I respect your point of view. pero tu nececitas informarte directamente del del fundador de Limalama y preguntarle al Maestro Tino quien es Rigoberto Lopez, Cuando tu tengas LA RESPUESTA DEL MAESTRO TINO. TU PODRAS CONTESTARME CON SABIDURIA.
hahahah get funky with yourbad self tiger, man with those move chuck liddell and tito ortiz must really fuking scared to fight you, please don't hurt'em hammer oh! i mean tiger hahahaha
well berniekfm its become apparent that your not really a martial artist, your just some kid who likes to talk nonsense on the internet and get attention, which is funny to me.
To rafael Rios. Limalama is not about forms if you are real Limalama, this video is just to show how is the TRADITIONAL Limalama not what you do,flying and jumping. You should know who is that person on the video; Mr competetion. If don't just ask around to find out
If you compete with that kind of tiger form in U.S.A. or even in Mexico, you are lost. SEE MY PERFORMANCE MAKIPI LIMALAMA ARKANSAS U.S.A. TIGER FORM RAFAEL RIOS.
I ask for an excuse for mexican Limalama. Like everywhere in the martial arts world, there's presumptuous people like "rafaelrios07", I practice the same Limalama and I swear that mexicans are good martial artist, it is true that in mexico we achieve a good technical level of limalama whitout GM Tino's supervision, but that doesn't change the fact that he is the founder, modern Limama came from this kind of movements and everyone have a unique style of Limalama from the same roots.
si que onda con su forma... parecen movimientos improvisados.... :S

he is doing closequarter combat and grappling
the is slap can be used for power generation, among other things.
if you enroll in a american kenpo class ask them why do they slap themselves?

why does he slap himself? and why does he do it so much? is it to create an illusion that his movements are so fast that they make that sound?
