  • Look, I can see the rest of the earth from here!!

  • Im suprised they dont get dragged down by those rhino sized balls.

  • That moment when your like "Jesus Christ this is my life O.O"

  • i like how at the end he says "and THAT is how you climb a transmission tower" like, oh yeah! i could do that! :)

  • 50k a year? I make more sitting behind a computer. This video actually made me feel sick to my stomach...these guys desearve better pay!

  • hmmm I wonder what the average life span are for these guys.

  • I'm gonna be sick

  • His biggest problem must be dragging those 150lb nuts up there with him.

  • @mtnhooch lol

  • 6:49: "This is the tricky part". ROFLMFAO!

  • going down must suck

  • damn, that would be challenging...

some of those holds he was pulling on to get up top didnt look they were as strong as they could be.

    balls of steel

  • It's like they took my worst nightmare and turned it into a job...

Aaaahhhhh... at 7:17 he takes BOTH hands off to undo the carabiner, he is not even holding on to the damn tower, just leaning against it and standing on a bit of metal barely larger than the soles of his shoes...

  • I am so sweaty after watching this

  • Like a BOSS.

  • hey only another 60 feet to the top

  • The designers of that tower really couldn't have made it more awkward to get on top of

  • they should climb with a fucking parachute

  • Thumbs up if you felt nervous viewing this video

  • I climbed a 90ft tower today for work for a wireless ISP and it was hard work. I don't do it all the time so my arms got tired. I've climbed 240ft before but was inside the tower taking short breaks along the way. So these guys probably would run up and down the tower I climbed like it was nothing. But it was sorta fun. I got paid $150 to do it and took me about 1.5 hours on the tower.

  • @freespeachrulez How much are the guys in the video making? I hope a lot more than $50 an hour...

  • @reluctable The pay is all over, sometimes it is by contract no matter how many times they climb. Almost like a salary. Other times it is $400 to go to the tower plus x amount per foot. .Then there is hourly which you are pretty close. But it is not as much as people think. Tower climbers make about 50k a year.

  • fuck......that

  • "If there's a storm coming through, there's no quick way down" <-- I disagree.

  • Wonder how his partner felt having the top climbers balls on his face the whole way up.

Accidental work place Tea bag :D

  • Brave men indeed!! Not many could do that.

I wonder though, why not absail in via helicopter and parachute back off?

  • You have a better chance of seeing God walk down your hallway than seeing me doing this.

  • I CLIMBED THAT TOWER!!!!!!

  • Barf!

  • at least that guy gets a bit of exercise.

  • he should bring a parachute :D

  • at 7:18 he doesn´t even bother to hold on to the tower with his hands

  • 3 words for ya... No Way Jose !

  • my heart literally was skippng beats just watching this. thats wierd. i dont think i could get 100 feet up without having a heart attack let alone 1,700

  • how did they bulid that tower ?

  • Maybe a dumb question, but why doesnt he jump down with a parachute?

  • @Hiselor Basejumping is dangerous because you can get blown back into the tower. Also, you want to have ~3000 feet minimum for your chute to deploy.

  • @iXanderz

    Thank you! :-)

  • what the actual fuck

  • imagine how scary it must have been for the people who had to build this @_@

  • at the end: is he saving his toolbox before he is saving himselfe? :D uaaaaahhhh

  • i dont think you could pay me enough...

  • Did you have to climb all the way down again?

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • I wanna see how they construct these things. even all the up to the pieces of antenna look pretty large, how hard would it be to get that 1700ft in the air?

  • It feels like he reaches the top like 10 times and he still keeps climbing..

  • What is the turnover rate for this job?!

  • Oh fuck! i forgot my screwdriver...

  • It gets even more interesting when it's bring your kid to work day.

  • 7:18 NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE

  • Is that a white Boba Fett at 2:30?

  • holy mother of vertigo... feels like im going to fall off the building

  • I've done some rock climbing in my day, and for some reason - if I *had* to do this climb, I wouldn't wear gloves. Wouldn't trust them or my hand from slipping out of them.

  • @MinhDoan I'm quite sure the metal gets *very* cold. And corroded.

I'm sure the gloves are special for this task.

  • I fucking nearly had a heart attack just watching this shit.

Just thinking "don't fall don't fall... don't fall for fucks sake don't fall."

  • 4:04 "Now we've reached the base of the antenna, fron here, it's another 60 feet to the top!" Fuck...

  • My balls hurt just watching this

  • i will now appreciate more watching PBS

  • STOP LOOKING DOWN!

  • "If lightning strikes there's no easy way down"? You think they'd equip these dudes with parachutes maybe? Jesus Christ.

  • @gdwhat Parachuting isn't quick enough. Gotta jump off and hopefully land on an eagle.

  • @xChiefRunningWater hahaha. YES!

  • OMG

  • NOPE

  • I almost puked trying to watch this. I'm going to have nightmares.

  • anybody else see a stormtrooper climbing behind him at 2:27?

  • Why not just parachute down?

  • How did he manage to pull the weight of his giant balls up there?

  • NOPE.

  • I was watching this on edge, but my stomach didnt totally turn until he was standing at the very top, holding onto nothing, taking his time with the clip.

  • What is it in my brain that makes me so scared of heights. I can barely handle 40 feet up a rock climbing wall....this video scares the crap out of me. I can't even imagine how these guys do this.

  • I love the mountains, I love the green blue skies, I love the whole world!

  • FUCK THAT SHIT!!!

  • I have been climbing towers for a long time now and I will tell you one thing that is a lie in this vid. No self respecting or smart climber will totally free climb, especially up that high. The narrator is wrong in saying that most climbers do so. I have known two climbers in the past who did this and they are both dead because they fell. It may take more time and be more strenuous to constantly clip and unclip, but you will live.

  • I agree, I am a tower climber myself and he should be spider climbing. As you say, more work but at least you will make it up and down alive!

  • completely fucking unreal

  • "Damn, i forgot my Lunchbox !"

  • haha, why did you put the tags of drug abuse?? lol

  • BALLS OF STEEL!!!!..

  • If this were me I'd have the biggest smile on my face and the biggest shit in my pants.

  • the going up looks fine, how the heck do you get back down?

  • @nordrecordsuk Parachute

  • photoshop :D

  • theyre not being paid enough..

  • To those who climb that shit as your job..... You are the braves person i know and man they are not paying you enough XD

  • 3:59 just another 60 feet.... i guess that really is nothing compared to the rest, but still, fuck that

  • Parachute?

  • atleast give them 2 parachutes, ffs

  • nope nope nope

  • this actually makes me feel sick to my stomach watching this

  • How do they get back down. Ring the firebrigade i suppose. What tools are in that bag because when they reach the top, theres nothing there but a light. All that to change a lightbulb is it...

  • There's NO WAY IN HELL you could pay me enough to do that!!! It simply AIN'T HAPPENING!!!!! This video is just plain scary!!!!!!

  • o fuck this i really tall. never i get so jobb:p

  • "There's no quick way down." Um, falling?

  • these two guys are chuck norris kids

  • sweaty hands

  • I'm not usually scared of heights but that ain't happenin' bro.

  • He lets go at 7.18 ?

  • Not on my best day dude!!!

  • FUCKING CRAZY SCARY!! and only using the safety clips on the hand spikes??

  • Perfect.I would like to climb this monopole tower

  • Id parachute off when I finished.

  • I think he keeps on looking down to make sure his tool bag didn't got stuck...

nonetheless, IT IS scary.... I'm afraid of height, even looking down from 2nd floor is scary enough for me.

  • Just perform a leap of faith once you synchronize viewpoints

  • Man gets on the top. SHIT! i brought my shaving bag!

  • I do some 200ft poles but not this...i would love to try it tho

  • you'd think they would give them a parachute each, just in case. lol.

  • The second guy always reminds me of a stormtrooper..

  • Just another day at the office . .

  • i just wet my pants

  • HOW MUCH DO THESE PEOPLE GET PAID!? A BAZILLION DOLARS A MONTH?!

  • Imagine one of those little rungs at the top snapping off just as you put your weight on it. AAAHHHHhhhhhhhhh!

  • i like the part where he climbs the tower

  • Comment removed

  • at 7:39. Are they absailing back down?

  • Man, that is a scarrey thing. Takes Big Balls.

  • @rcbigflyer big balls just get in the way. ;-P heh

  • would have to tell the second guy....Hey look out, I just sh*t me my pants!!!!

  • the other guy said, "oh shoot. i forgot my screw drivers'.

  • Ballsy free climbing up...I'd probably just use the safety line and take twice the time.

  • This is so damn edgy and gutsy I can hardly believe it. It's probably completely safe, actually, but human nature screams otherwise. If you could set up a practice tower 10 feet high you wouldn't think anything of these climbing activities. This isn't really any different, except for the psychological pressure at altitude, and maybe the balancing in the wind.

  • i would rather have a parachute than that tool bag =P i wont even care about my work

  • chuck norris just pissed his pant suit

  • Haha insane :D Getting down is another story

  • i would have died 49.023.545.423.452 times.

  • " Theres no quick way down" ..... yes there is

  • And I thought Chuck Norris was tough. WOW!

  • How do they get down??? Sky dive!

  • I do industrial work and have to climb various heights, but man, if someone asked me to go up there, I would tell them to stick it up their backside!

  • Imagine a tornado coming along now.

  • Could you imagine if a wasp decides it's a fine time to fly to the top of a tower in search of someone to sting.

  • that looks so fun !

  • A job worse than this

cleaning my underwear if I ever were to try this

  • Went up there just to change the light bulb on the top :$

  • @aljaz55

They need to change the bulb otherwises what if a helicopter or a plane flies into it?

  • Anyone else's hands and feet sweating after that?

  • @ScrewFoxNews YES! And they just KEEP CLIMBING! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!

  • 5:34: "There's nooo quick way down."

This video is so interesting because there IS a quick way down...

  • @OldSchoolSkill one of those kind of people.

  • Ummm maybe not because I am an atheist :) I got dizzy looking at them climbimg and wtf do you do if ya gotta crap?

  • Buddy got high.

  • I can honestly say this is NOT on my bucket list I get dizzy just getting out of bed.

  • Awesome , great way to keep fit

  • Seriously intense heights, I climb telecomms towers for my job but only ever gone 70m, scariest bit is leaning back on your harness with nothing beneath you to use both hands for work, gotta have a hell of a lot of trust in the harness, it is the only thing between you and a very very long fall.

  • New guy on the job: "Okay, finally finished! Now... uh... how do we get down?"

Seasoned Veteran: "We climb back down."

New guy: "SAY WHA- HUH- DIDN'T WE BRING A PARACHUTE?"

    Seasoned Veteran: *Facepalm*

  • nerves of steal...

  • this guys reward should be kim kardashians ass every time he does that.

  • i got sweaty hands now

  • Fuck that!

  • AWWWW HELLLL NAWWW!!!!

  • 5:32.....hell yea there is!!!!

I'd do the climb but not without doing it the long way...i'd attach and dettach my safety line every few feet....

  • Thats after humans invented the helicopter ?? why the fu** thay are not using one ?

i bet it would be cheaper than the salary of this guys !!

  • No money in the world could make me do that. I'd rather be poor and alive!

  • "If a storm blows through, there's no quick way down."

ACTUALLY, I can think of exactly one quick way down...

  • i got sick just watching this...

  • how much do you think he get paid

  • I USED TO DO THIS!! BUT DEF NOT THIS HIGH!! LOL

  • @MaxxFlava how much did you get paid

  • No thanks!

  • why the hell does he keep looking down?

  • made my palms sweat just watchin it...F**K that!

  • made my palms sweat just watchin it...F**K that!

  • Stairway to heaven (UP).............Highway to Hell (Down) LOL. No way I would do that job.

  • too bad its Not in HD so i can poop myself

  • I don't think there is enough money I could be paid to do this job. *shivers*

  • Eff you see kay this.

  • Well, at least it's easy to get down again once you finish the job...

  • I WOULD LOL IF FALLED

  • i work for mastek wireless and i work with guys that climb... i aways tell then to quit

  • I am not afraid of heights neighter, but looking at those guys climbin' this shit with no parashoot makes me nervios.

  • "If a storm is coming there's no quick way down."

    Sure there is!

  • I am now afraid of heights.
