I forget what I used to beat him. Its been a while. I either had a Kojama with a 4-legged model with a Sniper Rifle, Light Machine Gun, Back Grenade Launcher, Back Cannon with about 20-30 sec of Opticamo......Or my Holy with a Penetrate Esturk, light machine gun, back grenade launcher, Hover legs and 30-40 sec of Opticamo.

I forget which, though, and its been a while since I've played. *misses the game*

I wish I could remember the names of the modules I use. I never liked using shoulder weapons because in the heat of battle I didn't have the reflex time to move my thumb toward the black & white buttons, and shoulder weapons slowed me down. I always drove a Photon and made sure it had two of those napalm spreader weapons. That made it plenty fast and able to jump high while raining down high damage.

The shoulder weapons are mapped to the B and Y buttons I thought. The black and white buttons was emergency dash.

@MythicMinds - the "napalm spreader" is called the No.31 Red Lotus. It's one of my favourite weapons. Try pairing a light99 one of those with a heavy99 Heavy Sniper Rifle. Utter destruction. In fact that might be the best way of all of beating Roy.

Using the lasers is the best way of beating Roy, the best tactic to employ against him in the Area Ranker battle is to get up high on the Panasonic building and 'pick him off' as he comes passed. At the same time you can shoot down the recovery ship that flies passed if you're worried about him re-filling his health.

I beat Roy very fast, I had a photon mech with the two legs. Two recoil cannons at normal, and two meteors at light level 99.

i had a holy, just the same like roy, just i have a laser gun on right.the meteor must be on lv 99 and gatling too, so you can get 3600 of ammo in gatling and launch 6 missile

dude lasers rock. they pwn instantly, i beat roy easily....computer was dumb and stayed in one place, i shot a wall next to it with non-recoil cannon and killed him easily.... i did that with each of the 4 final guys actually, its a cheap but effective stratigy

Why did you choose not to have any backpack weapons? did you upgrade your main body or your weapons to make them heavier and longer lasting or were you just trying to make the bot as light as possible?

It has some good point and some bad points but the good ones over-weigh the bad ones easily.

Also, try to learn to pilot with "advanced" controls, they allow you to maintain your speed while turning, as well as allowing you to shoot from an angle while at speed. This will help you avoid the fire of SVs whle you are attacking.

When Roy jumps near his gate to get on the smaller buildings, shoot short bursts of your gatling to keep him in the air (make sure your gatling is upgraded to Heavy 99) and continuously shoot him with your machine gun. If you do this right, Roy won't be able to manuever towards you in time to fire back, and you will destroy him in mid-air.

The quickest I've beat Roy is 25 seconds. Don't use two gatlings. Use a machine gun on your dominant arm(the one you are the most skilled with) and a gatling on the other.

I beat him with my Holy lvl99 wolf chip, lvl99 light gatling gun, esturk, and a 4 rocket launcher. It screems when it starts going.
