Yeah, Fear has amazing firefights, but I do think that Doom 3 has the edge when it comes to cool enemies and the environment is arguably more interesting. However, I still think FEAR has the upper hand when it comes to gameplay.

Prey is a good game and the graphics are better, but I do feel that Doom 3 offers a more difficult and longer single player campaign. So, if you want more of a challenge and a longer single player experience go for Doom 3, but if you want better graphics and slightly cooler gameplay then go with Prey. Also, I don't think that either multiplayer component is very popular, so I wouldn't buy the game expecting a lot of players online.

Well I don't know about you, but I don't like to watch things that suck. So if you don't like Doom 3, then you probably shouldn't watch any Doom 3 videos. But then again, maybe you are different and you like to watch gameplay videos of games you don't like to play... I don't know.
