Ha! Ha! Ha! It's funny that considering the magnitude of the universe compare to the Earth, yet, god supposedly dedicated most of his time making the world.
@petion2010 Lol! Yeah! And some even dare to claim there's "intelligence" behind "creation" >>> That is billions of parsecs of useless empy space and gazillions of unknown galaxies. Come again? Intelligence? Yeah, right! Where's the intelligence in remaining 100% invisible & undetectable & highly improbable & totally unprovable ? Oh yeah, gotta take it all on "faith"! Yeah right! Lmfao!
Aaaah the old dinosaurs argument... If you still clinging onto that, you are still young in your atheism.
This all stems from a brilliant scholar, the Archbishop Ussher of Armagh, in the 1650's. He chronologically worked out the age of the Earth from the Bible - although the conclusion was incorrect it was none the less impressive. The Bible is not flawed, and his calculations were not flawed, but his interpretation of the Bible was.
Please step away from the "dinosaur" argument - it's OLD!
@Massiah82 the bible will tell you that the earth is about 6000 years old, if his calculations weren't flawed and his calculations were based on biblical values then he will have got 6000 years. If his interpretation of the bible was wrong then maybe you'd like to tell me how old the bible REALLY says the earth is. and how does any of this counter the dinosaur argument?
1) Show me where in the Bible it says "the Earth is about 6000 years old"
2) No argument, 6000 year was the figure he came to.
3) The Bible is not a science book, and should not be interpreted as such.
4) The Bible doesn't say anything about the age of the Earth (see point 3).
5) You say the Bible says "6000" years, I say it says nothing of the sort (which is in-line with most Christians and rational Atheists who have read the Bible objectively).
@Massiah82 it gives the timeline of the people who lived up until the time of jesus and the years come to 4000, seeing as how that was 2000 years ago it will now come to 6000. You also still haven't told me how this answers the dinosaur question
@AntiMatterWave If you genuinely believe the Bible say 6000 years - then you are in need of more help than i can give you. If you are just creating a straw man argument - it's a weak argument. 6 days of creation is not meant to be taken literally (many passages in the Bible just don't make sense / are contradictory if you take them literally). Our inability to understand / interpret something doesn't make it instantly wrong.
@Massiah82 I never mentioned the 6 day creation story, I'm hardly the only one who thinks the bible says 6000 years and as for the whole "don't take the bible literally" argument all I can say is that's a big fat cop-out. and you STILL haven't answered the dinosaur question
@AntiMatterWave From your last comment i know that you have no idea of the concept / background of this argument. The 6 days of creation are integral to the 6000 days argument!! You don't even know what you're arguing about!! You probably don't even understand your own question - and yet you still expect me to give you an answer - its pointless. You've probably heard this argument used and now you parrot it without even questioning it's origins / validity. I bid you good day!
@Massiah82 really, so if the universe was created in the blink of an eye then it would radically alter the age of the universe? And even after all this you still haven't answered the main question which is why the dinosaur argument is invalid. You've pulled a typical creationist move: spout bullshit, extend a single flaw to ridiculous proportions then rage quit. It's pathetic
@AntiMatterWave At least you admit that you had a "single flaw" in your previous post (it may be "single" but it is significant!). The creation verses are to be taken metaphorically not literally - hence Earth is not 6000 years old, therefore dino argument is redundant. (P.S. just to make it clear - as you appear to be slow of mind - metaphorically 6 days of creation equates to 6 stages of creation, and stages could take billions of years).
@Massiah82 as I said, that's a cop out. and besides, the creation process is not equivalent to existence, ona baby's first birthday do you say that it's one year old or one year and 9 months? I'm also no admitting that I have a flaw, the flaw was assuming that you are right, which you aren't. And how can genesis 1:25 metaphorically mean "not all, some came later" or genesis 6:19 metaphorically meaning "again not all, just some" I'd love to hear the litteral meaning and how you figure it out
Has anybody considered that maybe thousands of "years" ago, they measured time differently? That would be one way of explaining how the Bible folk might have lived to over 6, 7, even 9 hundred "years"?
@younghoss good point however if hundreds of years as they measured them related to an average human lifespan then the 4000 years as they measured them from gemesis to the begining of the New Testament would mean that the earth was about 400 of our years and that's if you count a modern lifespan, back in antiquity an average human lifespan was radically less so it would relate to about 200 years and we know that the earth is older than 2200 years
@Massiah82 some briliant scholar. anf the argument on dinosaaurs is far from old as creatards cant seem to grasp the simple fact that their ideologies are in fact bunk. because of another simple fact they hate to be wrong
Honestly, this whole "man lived with dinosaur" thing is pretty new to the christian belief system, goes to show how religion mutates in an attempt to follow science. I am not atheist, FYI, but I do get a chuckle of the ignorance of christians, and many other religious folks. In Ancient Egypt they would openly incorporate their scientific findings into their religions, and it worked, people had a hope for something "bigger" than them while still maintaining a solid ground.
"Creationists must hold one particularly fascinating position due to the wording of Genesis: That man, at one time, lived alongside dinosaurs. Or they claim the fossils were planted by the devil and dinosaurs never existed at all. Either way? Hilarious."
Actually you couldn't be farther from the truth. The fossil record IS what proves evolution is a faulty theory without ANY supporting facts. If you'd like to man up for a debate, just let me know.
@Gabe7g No supporting facts? Really? I'm pretty sure every biologist, paleantologist, and geneticist (Among many others) who are worth their salt, would disagree with you on that point. And I suppose Creation has a veritable mountain of concrete evidence, does it?
@21quandary Yes, intelligent design (or creation or whatever you want to call it) does. Just look around you, there is order in everything. I would invite any biologist, paleontologist, or geneticist to try to try to provide some evidence, ANY evidence supporting evolution.
@Gabe7g Type in "Evidence of evolution" Into Youtube, there's hundreds of them. Then put down the two pages of Genesis that supports creation and read The Origin of species..
@21quandary Instead of typing that in why don't you just go ahead and give me an example of just ONE piece of evolution? If you are not up for a debate just tell me, if so then lets hear YOUR argument.
@itsbrad212 I've done my research, and I'm sorry to inform you but there are NO transitional fossils. If you are referring to "Java Man" discovered in the 1800's then that is just one sad example of several (Only SEVERAL mind you) bones that have been passed off as "missing links" One famous one "Nebraska Man" discovered in 1917 was supposed to be a missing link. I find it funny how people will grab at straws to try to prove that God does not exist.
@Gabe7g Evolution is not meant to disprove God; that's why I always get a kick out of Christians that feel so personally attacked whenever evolution is brought up. I don't know your qualifications, but I doubt that you, in such a short amount of time, have refuted a hypothesis (well, it's actually an accepted fact) that holds more evidence than our current gravitational theory; would you like to disprove that as well? That page I mentioned lists plenty of transitional fossils.
@Gabe7g Oh, and regarding your previous: so? Why does complexity inevitably equate to intelligent design? Just because we "don't know for certain", you feel the need to attribute it to a theory that, in all honesty, has no place in a scientific setting due to a tremendous lack of evidence? Passing complex designs off as "God's work" is typically a sign of a low intellect. Not to say that you do at all, but I'm a little surprised considering the high amount of intelligence that you exhibit.
@itsbrad212 I would still like you to point out one "transitional fossil" Because if you REALLY look and dig into the facts you will find that there is not one. And considering that Evolution has supposedly occurred over billions of years, I find that quite odd... Intelligent design absolutely has a rightful place in science. The evidence is all around us. If I told you I found a pencil in the woods and that it just evolved, you'd brand me as a fool.
@Gabe7g said "If I told you I found a pencil in the woods and that it just evolved, you'd brand me as a fool. "
Indeed we would. A pencil is an INANIMATE (i.e DEAD) object which is incapable of adapting, evolving or reproducing itself. The only reason you know it is a pencil is because you have seen pencils before.
If you told us the pencil was created by an invisible man in the sky we would also brand you as a fool. But with good reason.
@Gabe7g Do some research. EVERY fossil is a transitional fossil. Life is constantly adapting where required - we just find the tiniest number of examples of life throughout history and put them in the order they appear to have lived, with notable changes between each one. We'll never have a complete record as fossils are so difficult to make and it's amazing we have any at all. If Genesis is true, WHY DO WE HAVE ANY AT ALL?
@itsbrad212 Just look at how complex the human body is compared to something as simple as a pencil... There is order in EVERYTHING. If you would read the Bible you would see that God is a God of order.
@Gabe7g People who keep saying "if you'd only read the Bible!" don't appreciate a few things:
1. Many of the people you tell that to HAVE read the Bible, only to find it a primitive, ignorant, and self-contradictory amalgamation of bronze age scribblings.
2. Reading the Bible has never convinced any logical, scientifically-inclined person that "God" is running the show.
3. We all know what you're hoping for is that we'll go away and stop talking common sense for a while!
@carmium "God" is in the mind of those who fear of dead so on, dreamers of ethernal life and paradise, they feel quite dizzy and happy right now im surround by them in Madrid. How lovely the sheeps say following a shepard that only seeks power and money.
@lonewolfM16 Mountains of transitional forms? Not true, but go ahead and try to prove me wrong and show me one. or at least one "transitional" fossil. If you do your homework you will see they do not exist. That my friend says a LOT about the credibility of those who accept evolution as fact.
@iamtodd Yes, I am homophobic: I'm deathly afraid of you. Now that you are sending me comments on four videos I can see that my fears of having a violent, homosexual stalker furiously masturbating to my word have come to fruition. You keep bringing up what your father did to you even when I simply mentioned you need to deal with those issues. You're quite angry over the fact, probably because you link it to "bible study" when all the men in church would take turns on you.
@iamtodd Lol. Here come the caps. You seriously need to see a psychiatrist because this projection is getting out of hand. All of these things which I brought up about you, you're turning them around and pretending that they actually happened to me. It's sad really.
@iamtodd Great job, rewording all of my insults and sending them back to me. I guess you got a little hard-on when I mentioned the fact that you were cornholed by your papa and you're just riding that. Bet you've been thinking about his rotten cock all day.
One of the arguments from creationists I love is "Fossils have been faked!"
No one disputes that if there is a market for something, then people will try and cheat.
I would assume that because certain thieves have, over the years, faked works of art, have claimed they had a new piece of music by Beethoven, and have painted rocks yellow and said it was gold, that art, music, and gold are not true either?
First there were rocks, and rain, and that made soup, and then a miracle happened, and the statistically impossible configurations of complex chemicals were formed, then a miracle happened, and they (by themselves) formed into a living cell, and then a miracle happened, and these living cells got more and more complicated.
I admire your faith. I believe that I serve a God who is created all this by the word of his mouth. The difference is, I have science on my side
Oh, wait.... you did not give one, instead, you gave a half hearted attempt to explain abiogenesis, which, as anyone with a mild education knows, has nothing at all to do with evolution...
@PaulinaPaulino My apologies for being such an ignoramus that I hadn't heard of the word abiogenesis until today. I looked up the Wikipedia article on that, it's got 'evolution' all over it. It also has 'we don't know' all over it. Or, in my words, 'then a miracle happened'.
Could you please submit corrections to the Wikipedia article, and tell them how stupid they are to think that abiogenesis has anything to do with evolution? To think that those contributors don't even have a mild education!
@mthompsoNZ evolution and abiogenesis are two completely seperate theories on life they have much to do with each others as they are both about the formation of life (evolution in its present form and past forms, abiogenesis the very first life) also since you havent heard of abiogenesis I conclude you either never took high school level biology or simply forgot everything about the class. oh and while we dont know everything and unlike you we admit it instead of using magical explanations cont
@mthompsoNZ "I admire your faith. I believe that I serve a God who is created all this by the word of his mouth. The difference is, I have science on my side"
Your last sentence contradicts itself. some unexplainable diety creating everything by talking it into existance is NOT science
@mthompsoNZ we do know quite a bit and are learning more each day. It is a solid theory supported by alot of evidence and the first part of it (that organic molecules can form into amino acids which are the base parts of DNA. from there the rest is that these amino acids had the entire ocean of organic material and millions of years to combine and while we still dont know the exacts thats how science works we learn more, thats the point.
@lonewolfM16 May I interpret what you are saying? Some clever scientists used heaps of brain power to imagine an environment that never existed on earth, ever, and applied some weird and wonderful science to create slightly complex molecules that were a million miles away from anything resembling life. These molecules would actually degenerate in the real earth environment, not miraculously coagulate into a living organism, but hey, it's enough for us to say 'God doesn't need to exist'. Hmph.
@mthompsoNZ the primordial soup never existed? you may want to tell that to biologists, geologists and other people with college degrees in learning about the earth and its history. it existed. deal with it. not weird just taking early earth enviroments in a glass jar and applying electricity. And these molecqules in the right combinations could produce very simple life given a few million years and all the earths oceans and from there evolution takes its course. science>myth.
@mthompsoNZ also even if we didnt have the theory of abiogenesis which you have proven you know nothing about other than my hyper simplified version to make it fit in the comments that still isnt evidence for god. Lets say science doesnt explain why plants bloom (it does but lets say for this example it doesnt) is this evidence of fairies? no just becuase science doesnt explain something or doesnt know everything isnt evidence for magic at all.
@lonewolfM16 Science: The art of ignoring enough evidence that a pretty theory actually fits the remaining data. For example, The Big Bang! Well, all the stars etc are moving away, yes? Red shift! Oops, what about the Andromeda galaxy? Hm. Let's not mention that, it might make the masses wonder if we are actually right. As opposed to holding on to our preconceptions. You want evidence? Visit a decent church, where the full gospel is preached, and signs and wonders happen. Explain them.
@mthompsoNZ really? because one galaxy is moving a certain way due to various factors that is enough to overturn a theory with mountains of evidence. Scientists are well aware of the adromada galaxy it is a rare blue shift galaxy that while very large is likely lesser in mass than the milky way due to the milky ways higher concentration of dark matter, you show ignorance as to how science works, if you dissproved the big bang theory you would be immensly famous with tons of grants cont
@mthompsoNZ science works on the priciple of peer review and of gathering evidence. The big bang now sits with the theory of evolution, round earth theory, newtonian physics, and molecqular theory in theories with huge amounts of evidence that serve as the basis for our understanding for a subject. as for churches they are nothing special at all merely tools for preaching bronze and iron age mythology nothing more. whats to explain?
1. Cave paintings showing man interacting with dinosaurs.
2. Some fossil dinosaur tracks obliterate human tracks
3. Check 'young earth' on Google, and see what science doesn't tell you
4. Evolutionists on evolution:There no intermediate species (Paterson) We don't have an evolutionary tree, but an evolutionary lawn (Gould), (where is the time for evolution?) So why do they still believe in it?
5. If the Big Bang theory is true, how do we get the Andromeda galaxy moving towards us?
@mthompsoNZ Gravity. Look up "Interacting galaxies". But of course, Science is a conspiracy against Christianity and they have been hiding the fact that the galaxies are colliding because it is contrary to what they so adamantly hold on to. Patterson's quote is a quote mine - why don't you look up what he actually says. Upon searching "evolutionary lawn" in Google, only your comment could be found. Explain to me again why humans and dinosaurs aren't ever found in the same strata?
Yawn...So despite not attending any biology courses, you think forgeries are taught in biology courses. No wonders you're so f*cking delusional. You probably think "The Illustrated London News" is a respected peer-reviewed scientific journal, or that creationists were the ones to discover the forgeries...
if creationists wwere actually willing to look into facts of there poetical stories, this entire thing of creationism v. science wouldn't be a factor 1 iota. It is simply an astronomical work & can at least be traced back to the ancient Egyptians & Mesopotamians. Let alone, the Greek poets & philosophy guys. Of course, that will mbarrass all of the creationists. ;) -lol
There was indeed dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden, just like there are dinosaurs today, dinosaurs were and are reptiles. Reptiles eg crocodiles keep growing until they die. Before the fall of Man and the flood the earth had a perfect greenhouse.
Wake up atheiests! There are 2 world views, 1 is Creation (fact) or 2, evolution (fiction).
@baalisgod666 i'd say the "fucking idiot" is the guy who replies to the wrong person. if you look again it's the guy above me (ATBINTC) you were trying to reply to, not me. atleast i hope so considering i didn't say a word about dinosaurs, reptiles or anything else you argue.
@ATBINTC dinosaurs were reptiles, but not all reptiles are dinosaurs. that's like saying that all domestic dogs are Greyhounds. learn about biological taxonomy before saying dumb shit plz.
@Cuddlebunzzzz Mmm, new finds within the last 20 years of well preserved, small dinosaurs have revealed that they were covered in feathers, not scales as once thought. Dinosaurs are the ancestors of today's birds.
@mmedefarge i already knew that. i think it's even common knowledge, since i think it's been mentioned in one of the Jurassic Park movies or some other famous dinosaur movie. however, not all dinosaurs had feathers (according to what we currently know, although we can be fairly certain that marine dinosaurs didn't) just some of them. and iirc they didn't develop feathers until the later eras.
@ATBINTC You must adore political correctness eh. That is, politicians & media heros. To be fair & balanced, adore 'em 'til $ is concerned; specially, when it's yours. Do elections come to mind? ;) -lol. Just a person who works in a political city.
@Jankolli The artifacts with drawings of dinosaurs that look exactly like the ones that are drawn today is pretty compelling evidence to me. And in my opinion, anyone who'd deny it as evidence is in denial. Copy the link I pasted on my comment page to see.
@colt5495 That's the thing, it doesn't have to explain "millions of years old sediment". Though carbon dating is fluctuating in reliabilty, like many other scientific beliefs have throughout it's existance. It only has to explain that some of the dinosaurs were still around while we where. That was my only point, nothing more. And I've shown my evidence, so I'm done.
@Setherlast Holy hell... do you honestly believe anyone would take that video seriously? Its rubbish, its beyond rubbish. That is NOT evidence, that's a joke.
@Jankolli Doesn't matter that the video THIS particular video is Christian bias. These drawings are well documented and have been on the history channel, etc. Of course evolutionists don't want anyone to know about it. They will try to hide it and when it comes up, they turn a blind eye to it because of their blind faith in a theory that has many holes in it.
@Setherlast After a 10 minute research into the Ica stones, I found that they have been confirmed as fake; they were made by a farmer and sold them to unkowing tourists. You sure don't get us evolutionists, we embrace change, if something is wrong, then we change our perspective. We don't turn a blind eye to anything when the right evidence is put on the table.
@Jankolli My problem is I DO get evolutionists. They are just like alot of creationists and run in blind faith. Do you know how many lies/errors have fathered the begining theory of evolution all the way up to its current state? Filling in the gaps with goo that doesn't exist and errors that are purposely overlooked because it's easier for the mind to accept. And to make conclusions/assumption is away for resolving these questions. Faith can has been proven to be blind on both sides.
@Setherlast As for claiming you have the "upper-hand" when it comes to the minds of an evolutionist and also a creationist, you should have known its a common measure by creationists to ignore what was previously stated; the Ica stones were forgery. You prove nothing in your comments, you only state the obvious; that errors occur everywhere, but science has a way of, geez, I dunno, finding other solutions. Creationists linger on the outdated source material that is the bible
@Jankolli You're filling in gaps again. This is how your science works, you're cutting off the corners of a square peg to make it fit in a circle slot. I never said "I have the upper hand", that's you drawing a conclusion to something that may or may not be true. I'm simply giving a fresh perspective and approach, stating that both sides have a bias and can be equally blind. Blind leading the blind. Paradigm against paradigm. -A very open minded Christian who's against blindness on BOTH sides.
@Setherlast And you still ignore the fact that your "compelling evidence" from a previous comment are proven false. And you even have the gall to tell people who don't believe in that they are in denial.
@Jankolli I wasn't ignoring your 10 minute research quest on whether man and dinosaurs coexisted together. You've proven my point that blind faith comes from both sides, religious and non-religious. I don't need to defend one ancient egyptian dawings That "has been proven fake". Because it probably was fake. But there are many archeology finds of man made dino art. In China and other places all over the world. I have the gull to say denying these art works exist is denial.
@progressthruscience I HAVE gone to the source, your source actually. And I have the intelligence to filter out what is factual, and what is the "let's just put it in a box and lable it that way because it's easier to understand" theory category. Let's just force this square peg into this round hole so our puzzle fit's category. If people never questioned science and only listened to their professor's, who are constantly proven wrong, we would would of continued to believe the world is't round.
@progressthruscience It's your saying, not mine. You don't need you to bring your source's to me, for me to know that evolution bones have been faked many times in the past by biologist to make the chain of event look a certain way. And this too has been documented. These are the sources that continue to be taught as facts in schools. And people are happy to accept these delusions as being real because it makes themselves feel better. Much in the same way the Nazi's did with Hitlers lies.
Adam n eve r the only reason why we need a savior.Cause eve or adam ate the apple or what ever it was. There for casting man out of the garden of eden. And there for we are born with sin.And we need a savior2save us.Ok well what if u don`t believe the adam n eve story cause it sounds like a fairy tale story.Come on.We no that is not tru. There for we don`t need a savior. This christian sorry excuss4 a scientist said that there can not b life on any other planets cause they would need a savior to.LOL
Pretty sure Mohammed actually existed. If you can show me why I shouldn't expect him to be I'd like to see it-- but I really do prefer to take the Quran's word for it that he was a polygamous genocidal pedophile.
Lord Jesus said, "The Spirit of Truth will lead you into all Truth." notice He didn't say 'right Truth' or 'wrong Truth' or 'true Truth' or 'false Truth'; but (I suppose) He meant 'ALL OF IT'---true, false, doesn't matter which is which (until it DOES matter >:-D); it's ALL "Truth"
Thanks for the friend invite. I'd like to share these:
He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.2 Thessalonians 2:10 Furthermore since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. Romans 1:28
@caseyjams For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 2 Timothy 3
@DoNotLaughAtMe Eh. Atheists just think that the Bible was meant to be taken literally, that's a big reason why their first impression of it is exaggerated fantacism. It's a bunch of symbolism. Do you think there would LITERALLY be a lamb with seven eyes and seven horns opening a book with seven seals? Of course not, it's symbolism.
@shadzzz441791 Well, to be fair, it's your book that presents genesis as a literal. story. So, could you answer the question? Did man walk alongside dinosaurs? were their bones invented y the devil to trick us? Do tell, old chap.
@pamew Actually, you should read Michael Drosnin's The Bible Code and The Bible Code II, that's where I get a good amount of my information. In The Bible Code, it mentions "God struck Rahab," meaning that dinosaurs had to be eliminated in order for humans to come into existence. You should read that book.
archeologists actually found dinosaur footprints with human footprints that was indented in the earth at the same time and their explanation was that that is what a dinosaur footprint looks like when it stands still....scientists will believe anything they want to believe but the truth, evolutionist beliefs require far more faith than one of a creationist.
the bible was written in order to explain things that people of that era didnt find explanations for like were did they came from, were did the animals came from, why there is rain, why there is sky/sun/moon/stars/rainbow/rocks/ice-cream/fruit salat/porn magasines/internet and so on.. now that we can explain this things there is no need for the bible it more of a history book.
yup, thats pretty much how it happnened, LOL. evolution is a done deal anyway. so why bother debating over it. its like debating over vater. "is it realy a liquid, or is it actually solid?". just as serious.
@colie577 OMG. not what i meant. my god, your stupid. i meant that its no reason debating what diferent things are. when we already know what they are. there is no reason to say, "no water can only bo solid, because of.......". when we KNOW that water can be liquid. same with evolution. there is no reason to debate it, when we KNOW that its a fact.
@gulbirk You're European; to you, evolution is a done deal. In the U.S. we've got a lot of Neanderthals. You've probably got a few in Europe too but here there are enough of them here to form a voting bloc.
@gulbirk I knew that you weren't from the States when you said that evolution "was a done deal". Only in backwards, 3rd world countries & here in the eternal land of the lost does magical thinking still hold sway.
@DBMamba Actually the "us" is the other gods and godesses that people believed in at the time. Genesis is actually just a change version of an earlier creation myth.
@oceanrose12 (RE: God is real stop believing everything you learn in school. think for yourself.)
god is FAKE stop believing everything you learn in church. think for yourself. ... see? i can say almost exactly what you said and mine makes more sense!
@XANF2 "unless christianity is calling black people mutants?" in response to that.. in school i learned that some of the people who made colored people into slaves thought that dark colored people were "children of the devil" and therefore SHOULD have to serve the "children of light"...in other words white people...thats not true of course but that just shows you a taste of the pain and suffering that religion in general has caused because of some stupid believe in light vs dark
im an athiest but your video still stinks.

AntiMatterWave 3 months ago
@AntiMatterWave From your last comment i know that you have no idea of the concept / background of this argument. The 6 days of creation are integral to the 6000 days argument!! You don't even know what you're arguing about!! You probably don't even understand your own question - and yet you still expect me to give you an answer - its pointless. You've probably heard this argument used and now you parrot it without even questioning it's origins / validity. I bid you good day!
Massiah82 3 months ago
@Massiah82 really, so if the universe was created in the blink of an eye then it would radically alter the age of the universe? And even after all this you still haven't answered the main question which is why the dinosaur argument is invalid. You've pulled a typical creationist move: spout bullshit, extend a single flaw to ridiculous proportions then rage quit. It's pathetic
AntiMatterWave 3 months ago
@AntiMatterWave At least you admit that you had a "single flaw" in your previous post (it may be "single" but it is significant!). The creation verses are to be taken metaphorically not literally - hence Earth is not 6000 years old, therefore dino argument is redundant. (P.S. just to make it clear - as you appear to be slow of mind - metaphorically 6 days of creation equates to 6 stages of creation, and stages could take billions of years).
Massiah82 3 months ago
@Massiah82 as I said, that's a cop out. and besides, the creation process is not equivalent to existence, ona baby's first birthday do you say that it's one year old or one year and 9 months? I'm also no admitting that I have a flaw, the flaw was assuming that you are right, which you aren't. And how can genesis 1:25 metaphorically mean "not all, some came later" or genesis 6:19 metaphorically meaning "again not all, just some" I'd love to hear the litteral meaning and how you figure it out

100,000 years old = science's version of humanity
100,000 divided by 20 = 5,000

Has anybody considered that maybe thousands of "years" ago, they measured time differently? That would be one way of explaining how the Bible folk might have lived to over 6, 7, even 9 hundred "years"?
younghoss 2 months ago
@younghoss good point however if hundreds of years as they measured them related to an average human lifespan then the 4000 years as they measured them from gemesis to the begining of the New Testament would mean that the earth was about 400 of our years and that's if you count a modern lifespan, back in antiquity an average human lifespan was radically less so it would relate to about 200 years and we know that the earth is older than 2200 years

Gabe
Gabe7g 6 months ago
@Gabe7g No supporting facts? Really? I'm pretty sure every biologist, paleantologist, and geneticist (Among many others) who are worth their salt, would disagree with you on that point. And I suppose Creation has a veritable mountain of concrete evidence, does it?
21quandary 6 months ago
@21quandary Yes, intelligent design (or creation or whatever you want to call it) does. Just look around you, there is order in everything. I would invite any biologist, paleontologist, or geneticist to try to try to provide some evidence, ANY evidence supporting evolution.
Gabe7g 6 months ago
@Gabe7g Type in "Evidence of evolution" Into Youtube, there's hundreds of them. Then put down the two pages of Genesis that supports creation and read The Origin of species..
21quandary 6 months ago
@21quandary Instead of typing that in why don't you just go ahead and give me an example of just ONE piece of evolution? If you are not up for a debate just tell me, if so then lets hear YOUR argument.
Gabe7g 6 months ago
@Gabe7g There is a Wikipedia page titled "List of transitional fossils." It's customary to do your own research before asking for that of others.
itsbrad212 5 months ago
@itsbrad212 I've done my research, and I'm sorry to inform you but there are NO transitional fossils. If you are referring to "Java Man" discovered in the 1800's then that is just one sad example of several (Only SEVERAL mind you) bones that have been passed off as "missing links" One famous one "Nebraska Man" discovered in 1917 was supposed to be a missing link. I find it funny how people will grab at straws to try to prove that God does not exist.
Gabe7g 5 months ago
@Gabe7g Evolution is not meant to disprove God; that's why I always get a kick out of Christians that feel so personally attacked whenever evolution is brought up. I don't know your qualifications, but I doubt that you, in such a short amount of time, have refuted a hypothesis (well, it's actually an accepted fact) that holds more evidence than our current gravitational theory; would you like to disprove that as well? That page I mentioned lists plenty of transitional fossils.
itsbrad212 5 months ago
@Gabe7g Oh, and regarding your previous: so? Why does complexity inevitably equate to intelligent design? Just because we "don't know for certain", you feel the need to attribute it to a theory that, in all honesty, has no place in a scientific setting due to a tremendous lack of evidence? Passing complex designs off as "God's work" is typically a sign of a low intellect. Not to say that you do at all, but I'm a little surprised considering the high amount of intelligence that you exhibit.
itsbrad212 5 months ago
@itsbrad212 I would still like you to point out one "transitional fossil" Because if you REALLY look and dig into the facts you will find that there is not one. And considering that Evolution has supposedly occurred over billions of years, I find that quite odd... Intelligent design absolutely has a rightful place in science. The evidence is all around us. If I told you I found a pencil in the woods and that it just evolved, you'd brand me as a fool.
Gabe7g 5 months ago
@Gabe7g said "If I told you I found a pencil in the woods and that it just evolved, you'd brand me as a fool. "
Indeed we would. A pencil is an INANIMATE (i.e DEAD) object which is incapable of adapting, evolving or reproducing itself. The only reason you know it is a pencil is because you have seen pencils before.
If you told us the pencil was created by an invisible man in the sky we would also brand you as a fool. But with good reason.
lewisner 5 months ago
@Gabe7g Do some research. EVERY fossil is a transitional fossil. Life is constantly adapting where required - we just find the tiniest number of examples of life throughout history and put them in the order they appear to have lived, with notable changes between each one. We'll never have a complete record as fossils are so difficult to make and it's amazing we have any at all. If Genesis is true, WHY DO WE HAVE ANY AT ALL?
Penfold011082 4 months ago
@itsbrad212 Just look at how complex the human body is compared to something as simple as a pencil... There is order in EVERYTHING. If you would read the Bible you would see that God is a God of order.
Gabe7g 5 months ago
@Gabe7g People who keep saying "if you'd only read the Bible!" don't appreciate a few things:
1. Many of the people you tell that to HAVE read the Bible, only to find it a primitive, ignorant, and self-contradictory amalgamation of bronze age scribblings.
2. Reading the Bible has never convinced any logical, scientifically-inclined person that "God" is running the show.
3. We all know what you're hoping for is that we'll go away and stop talking common sense for a while!
Cheers 8-)

One of the arguments from creationists I love is "Fossils have been faked!"
No one disputes that if there is a market for something, then people will try and cheat.
I would assume that because certain thieves have, over the years, faked works of art, have claimed they had a new piece of music by Beethoven, and have painted rocks yellow and said it was gold, that art, music, and gold are not true either?
PaulinaPaulino 10 months ago
Theory of evolution:
First there were rocks, and rain, and that made soup, and then a miracle happened, and the statistically impossible configurations of complex chemicals were formed, then a miracle happened, and they (by themselves) formed into a living cell, and then a miracle happened, and these living cells got more and more complicated.
I admire your faith. I believe that I serve a God who is created all this by the word of his mouth. The difference is, I have science on my side
mthompsoNZ 11 months ago
@mthompsoNZ Hooray to your analysis on Evolution!
Oh, wait.... you did not give one, instead, you gave a half hearted attempt to explain abiogenesis, which, as anyone with a mild education knows, has nothing at all to do with evolution...
you DID know that, right?
PaulinaPaulino 10 months ago
@PaulinaPaulino My apologies for being such an ignoramus that I hadn't heard of the word abiogenesis until today. I looked up the Wikipedia article on that, it's got 'evolution' all over it. It also has 'we don't know' all over it. Or, in my words, 'then a miracle happened'.
Could you please submit corrections to the Wikipedia article, and tell them how stupid they are to think that abiogenesis has anything to do with evolution? To think that those contributors don't even have a mild education!
mthompsoNZ 10 months ago
@mthompsoNZ Please do not apologize for not knowing that abigenesis and evolution are indeed two different things. Many theists confuse them.
They are as different as milling grain and baking bread.
But, you DO need to apologize for using Wikipedia as a source.
PaulinaPaulino 10 months ago
@mthompsoNZ evolution and abiogenesis are two completely seperate theories on life they have much to do with each others as they are both about the formation of life (evolution in its present form and past forms, abiogenesis the very first life) also since you havent heard of abiogenesis I conclude you either never took high school level biology or simply forgot everything about the class. oh and while we dont know everything and unlike you we admit it instead of using magical explanations cont

podoau 8 months ago
@mthompsoNZ we do know quite a bit and are learning more each day. It is a solid theory supported by alot of evidence and the first part of it (that organic molecules can form into amino acids which are the base parts of DNA. from there the rest is that these amino acids had the entire ocean of organic material and millions of years to combine and while we still dont know the exacts thats how science works we learn more, thats the point.
lonewolfM16 6 months ago
@lonewolfM16 May I interpret what you are saying? Some clever scientists used heaps of brain power to imagine an environment that never existed on earth, ever, and applied some weird and wonderful science to create slightly complex molecules that were a million miles away from anything resembling life. These molecules would actually degenerate in the real earth environment, not miraculously coagulate into a living organism, but hey, it's enough for us to say 'God doesn't need to exist'. Hmph.
mthompsoNZ 6 months ago
@mthompsoNZ the primordial soup never existed? you may want to tell that to biologists, geologists and other people with college degrees in learning about the earth and its history. it existed. deal with it. not weird just taking early earth enviroments in a glass jar and applying electricity. And these molecqules in the right combinations could produce very simple life given a few million years and all the earths oceans and from there evolution takes its course. science>myth.
lonewolfM16 6 months ago
@mthompsoNZ also even if we didnt have the theory of abiogenesis which you have proven you know nothing about other than my hyper simplified version to make it fit in the comments that still isnt evidence for god. Lets say science doesnt explain why plants bloom (it does but lets say for this example it doesnt) is this evidence of fairies? no just becuase science doesnt explain something or doesnt know everything isnt evidence for magic at all.
lonewolfM16 6 months ago
@lonewolfM16 Science: The art of ignoring enough evidence that a pretty theory actually fits the remaining data. For example, The Big Bang! Well, all the stars etc are moving away, yes? Red shift! Oops, what about the Andromeda galaxy? Hm. Let's not mention that, it might make the masses wonder if we are actually right. As opposed to holding on to our preconceptions. You want evidence? Visit a decent church, where the full gospel is preached, and signs and wonders happen. Explain them.
mthompsoNZ 6 months ago
@mthompsoNZ really? because one galaxy is moving a certain way due to various factors that is enough to overturn a theory with mountains of evidence. Scientists are well aware of the adromada galaxy it is a rare blue shift galaxy that while very large is likely lesser in mass than the milky way due to the milky ways higher concentration of dark matter, you show ignorance as to how science works, if you dissproved the big bang theory you would be immensly famous with tons of grants cont
lonewolfM16 6 months ago
@mthompsoNZ science works on the priciple of peer review and of gathering evidence. The big bang now sits with the theory of evolution, round earth theory, newtonian physics, and molecqular theory in theories with huge amounts of evidence that serve as the basis for our understanding for a subject. as for churches they are nothing special at all merely tools for preaching bronze and iron age mythology nothing more. whats to explain?
lonewolfM16 6 months ago
5. If the Big Bang theory is true, how do we get the Andromeda galaxy moving towards us?
mthompsoNZ 11 months ago
@mthompsoNZ Gravity. Look up "Interacting galaxies". But of course, Science is a conspiracy against Christianity and they have been hiding the fact that the galaxies are colliding because it is contrary to what they so adamantly hold on to. Patterson's quote is a quote mine - why don't you look up what he actually says. Upon searching "evolutionary lawn" in Google, only your comment could be found. Explain to me again why humans and dinosaurs aren't ever found in the same strata?

colt5495 1 year ago
@colt5495 That's the thing, it doesn't have to explain "millions of years old sediment". Though carbon dating is fluctuating in reliabilty, like many other scientific beliefs have throughout it's existance. It only has to explain that some of the dinosaurs were still around while we where. That was my only point, nothing more. And I've shown my evidence, so I'm done.
Setherlast 1 year ago
@Setherlast Holy hell... do you honestly believe anyone would take that video seriously? Its rubbish, its beyond rubbish. That is NOT evidence, that's a joke.
Jankolli 1 year ago
@Jankolli Doesn't matter that the video THIS particular video is Christian bias. These drawings are well documented and have been on the history channel, etc. Of course evolutionists don't want anyone to know about it. They will try to hide it and when it comes up, they turn a blind eye to it because of their blind faith in a theory that has many holes in it.
Setherlast 1 year ago
@Setherlast After a 10 minute research into the Ica stones, I found that they have been confirmed as fake; they were made by a farmer and sold them to unkowing tourists. You sure don't get us evolutionists, we embrace change, if something is wrong, then we change our perspective. We don't turn a blind eye to anything when the right evidence is put on the table.
Jankolli 1 year ago
@Jankolli My problem is I DO get evolutionists. They are just like alot of creationists and run in blind faith. Do you know how many lies/errors have fathered the begining theory of evolution all the way up to its current state? Filling in the gaps with goo that doesn't exist and errors that are purposely overlooked because it's easier for the mind to accept. And to make conclusions/assumption is away for resolving these questions. Faith can has been proven to be blind on both sides.
Setherlast 1 year ago
@Setherlast As for claiming you have the "upper-hand" when it comes to the minds of an evolutionist and also a creationist, you should have known its a common measure by creationists to ignore what was previously stated; the Ica stones were forgery. You prove nothing in your comments, you only state the obvious; that errors occur everywhere, but science has a way of, geez, I dunno, finding other solutions. Creationists linger on the outdated source material that is the bible
Jankolli 1 year ago
@Jankolli You're filling in gaps again. This is how your science works, you're cutting off the corners of a square peg to make it fit in a circle slot. I never said "I have the upper hand", that's you drawing a conclusion to something that may or may not be true. I'm simply giving a fresh perspective and approach, stating that both sides have a bias and can be equally blind. Blind leading the blind. Paradigm against paradigm. -A very open minded Christian who's against blindness on BOTH sides.
Setherlast 1 year ago
@Setherlast And you still ignore the fact that your "compelling evidence" from a previous comment are proven false. And you even have the gall to tell people who don't believe in that they are in denial.
Jankolli 1 year ago
@Jankolli I wasn't ignoring your 10 minute research quest on whether man and dinosaurs coexisted together. You've proven my point that blind faith comes from both sides, religious and non-religious. I don't need to defend one ancient egyptian dawings That "has been proven fake". Because it probably was fake. But there are many archeology finds of man made dino art. In China and other places all over the world. I have the gull to say denying these art works exist is denial.

Let's just force this square peg into this round hole so our puzzle fit's category. If people never questioned science and only listened to their professor's, who are constantly proven wrong, we would would of continued to believe the world is't round.
Setherlast 1 year ago
@Setherlast
Are you trying to say that you have a degree in biology, because I didn't supply you with any source? I asked you to back up your claims.
progressthruscience 1 year ago
@progressthruscience It's your saying, not mine. You don't need you to bring your source's to me, for me to know that evolution bones have been faked many times in the past by biologist to make the chain of event look a certain way. And this too has been documented. These are the sources that continue to be taught as facts in schools. And people are happy to accept these delusions as being real because it makes themselves feel better. Much in the same way the Nazi's did with Hitlers lies.

2 Timothy 3

I can't believe how LITERALLY atheists take the Bible.
shadzzz441791 1 year ago
@shadzzz441791 Actually this is how creationist theist view their world... LITERALLY, are you one of them or are you agnostic or atheist ?
DoNotLaughAtMe 1 year ago
@DoNotLaughAtMe Eh. Atheists just think that the Bible was meant to be taken literally, that's a big reason why their first impression of it is exaggerated fantacism. It's a bunch of symbolism. Do you think there would LITERALLY be a lamb with seven eyes and seven horns opening a book with seven seals? Of course not, it's symbolism.
shadzzz441791 1 year ago
@shadzzz441791 Well, to be fair, it's your book that presents genesis as a literal. story. So, could you answer the question? Did man walk alongside dinosaurs? were their bones invented y the devil to trick us? Do tell, old chap.
pamew 1 year ago
@pamew Actually, you should read Michael Drosnin's The Bible Code and The Bible Code II, that's where I get a good amount of my information. In The Bible Code, it mentions "God struck Rahab," meaning that dinosaurs had to be eliminated in order for humans to come into existence. You should read that book.
shadzzz441791 1 year ago
@shadzzz441791 I think I may do just to see how amusingly badly constructed it is. Amazon here I come! I could use a laugh.
pamew 1 year ago
archeologists actually found dinosaur footprints with human footprints that was indented in the earth at the same time and their explanation was that that is what a dinosaur footprint looks like when it stands still....scientists will believe anything they want to believe but the truth, evolutionist beliefs require far more faith than one of a creationist.

the bible was written in order to explain things that people of that era didnt find explanations for like were did they came from, were did the animals came from, why there is rain, why there is sky/sun/moon/stars/rainbow/rocks/ice-cream/fruit salat/porn magasines/internet and so on.. now that we can explain this things there is no need for the bible it more of a history book.

yup, thats pretty much how it happnened, LOL. evolution is a done deal anyway. so why bother debating over it. its like debating over vater. "is it realy a liquid, or is it actually solid?". just as serious.
gulbirk 1 year ago
@gulbirk Water can be whatever you want, depending on the temperature. Argument fail.
colie577 1 year ago
@colie577 OMG. not what i meant. my god, your stupid. i meant that its no reason debating what diferent things are. when we already know what they are. there is no reason to say, "no water can only bo solid, because of.......". when we KNOW that water can be liquid. same with evolution. there is no reason to debate it, when we KNOW that its a fact.
gulbirk 1 year ago
You have 3 options with water, not really whatever you want. It really was a bad argument though lol
lastdayinsin3 1 year ago
@gulbirk You're European; to you, evolution is a done deal. In the U.S. we've got a lot of Neanderthals. You've probably got a few in Europe too but here there are enough of them here to form a voting bloc.

@DBMamba Actually the "us" is the other gods and godesses that people believed in at the time. Genesis is actually just a change version of an earlier creation myth.
