I honestly don't get all the Mike Hosking hate. He seems to me to be as good a host as any, reasonably friendly without being sickeningly so, and certainly comes across as more intelligent than Eddie McGuire. I find him to be a refreshing change from the typical over-friendly (read: fake) host. Obviously his style is quite different, but I think different in a good way. In fact, he grew on me as the series went on and I know I'm not the only one who felt that way.

Many versions of Millionaire started out at this pace. Like all shows it gets tweaked over time to stop the audience from getting bored. US version is always an exception, all US versions of international formats tend to be edited to be very fast paced, which says something about the attention span of the average US viewer. Millionaire was originally designed to be all about lots of entertaining banter between contestant and host, and suspense.

@MillionaireNZ If you think most of the US game shows are fast-paced, you're wrong. Look at some of FOX's game shows (Deal or No Deal, Million Dollar Money Drop, etc.) : they're about five times the length they should be.

@baconhead2008 lol yeah and to everyone i think that guy should not be host he talks to much has no emotion hes not very nice does not care or at least acts good enough to look like he does he should not be a host he has non of the characteristics u need to be one.

Isn't the game played in Australia's Old Millionaire studio?

Yes.. the NZ version is played there. All contestants are flown to Melbourne along with one supporter

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by old....it's filmed on the same set currently used for the Australian version (debuted in 2007). If you watch some old Australian Millionaire vids you'll see that the old pre-2007 set was of higher quality and larger than the current one, and also had twice the amount of audience seating. Not suprising seeing as they got the set construction manager for the Footy Show in to build the new one....clearly nobody was thinking about set quality.
