i have a female and male axolotl. they are olld enough and wont breed. is there anything i need to do? this axolotl resembles a tiger salamander larvae and so does mine. is there a possibility that they are not mating because one is a tiger salamander larvae?the leucistic one in this video, how many toes does he have? some say you can identify them from that, please reply, thanks.
@axolotlwithexotics hi sorry if late. do a 30% water change drop the temperature down to 20 degree cel.
that will warm them into breeding mode. put the temperature back up 28 degree enjoy :) just a trick of the trade i picked up. its supped to be a secret. but enjoy.
In my way, "my" eggs was transparent, with small brown/black in meddle. After few days small "dot" was changing to little axel placed in transparent ball (eggs). After that (w 1 week i think) littles axes was outside ;-) Smooth white eggs are bad eggs, you should remove this one outside. BTW to protect your's eggs, you should remove them to distilled water, full off oxygen by water pump. This will protect more eggs.
hi my axolotls have laid eggs just yesterday. this was a bit of a surprise considering we got them 2 days ago. i have done some research and it says that the center of the egg has to be brown if they are fertilised. but ours are white. will these eggs hatch. what were your axolotl eggs like when they were a day old.
That's one big axo..

I've recently seen mine doing the same :) It's pretty amusing to see how they grip a leaf with their hing legs.
