Whoever choreographed the Gazzarri Dancers apparently didn't know what to do with them for this song, so they just had them do model's poses. Looks interesting, if a bit strange.
Sorr, Ken; I was under the assumption that the fate of "HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO" was similar to that of "HULLABALOO" (only three videotaped copies of that show exist, the rest are "kinnies")- at least I some are still preserved on "tape"- very rare these days!
"HOLLYWOOD A GO-GO" was a weekly taped syndicated series, along the lines of "SHINDIG!" and "HULLABALOO", where pop stars usually "lip-synched" their biggest hits. However, only the "kinescoped" film copies of this show exist, and were not always preserved properly [which is why this looks like "watching TV through cheesecloth"].
Several of the clips I have posted are from video tape, this one is not. I have a few 2" quad tapes and transfered them some years ago using an Ampex AVR 2000 to 3/4" for viewing. Research Video also has a small number of 2" syndication copies, but most are kines.
You are right! Very worth watching, regardless of quality.
