Honestly I don't remember which they were and this is the first year I've planted them, my guess would be perennials though. But it wouldn't matter even if they were because I turn the garden over every spring and add about 800 lbs of soil, compost, manure and humus, so I'd have to replant anyway even if I decided to do the same thing again.
