  • I look forward to anything coming out with the Wampler name attached. Always quality work. Good sounding unit here.

  • Doesn't do it for me. Sounds muddy and lacks clarity to me. All the people on here talking about not being able to live with out it.LOL I'm sure you will charge a premium price as well. I'll save my money and buy a Little Walter amp and with the left over money you are most likely going to charge I will build a 5E3 clone. Good luck to you guys.

  • For me to continue living, I must have this amp.

  • how much?

  • ahhhh those 6V6's sound awesome! I've always loved the way they sound.

  • Umm yeah, I'd do that tone...lol.

  • When can I buy this???? I just sold my motorcycle and am looking for a good high end amp......

  • @ericmu17 They are just coming off production now and are almost ready for sale... keep an eye on our website and facebook page for further details. Thanks :)

  • That thing is Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet sounding.Any special pick-ups? Bully good sir,Bully.Peace.God Bless.

  • sounds great.

  • About time. Great stuff from the man himself.

  • Much better with the Charon cab. If you add an FX loop (with by-pass), and nicer cosmetics, I'm in!

  • Very nice sounding tool, great, like it!

  • Sounds great... I think a footswitchable effects loop would be great too - as suggested by someone else. I am looking for a good valve combo around 15 watts, but there aren't many out there with an effects loop - I've never used a head / cab set up before, but would certainly consider something like this. Just trying to downsize from a 50w 1x12 combo - too loud, too heavy! What does your head weigh in at?

  • Nice work senor Wampler! Make the head less than $500.00 USD and I'm in. :)

  • Sounds great Brent, any idea when it's going to be ready for delivery and about what the price is going to be?

  • Sorry for the repeated comments - I made a boo boo.

  • Great sound - would be great if it had a 'power soak' attenuator in it to get that great tone at lower volumes. Love to see the finished product.

  • The more I watch this the more I love it!! You guys rock!!

  • Hey Brian .... I think you hit the target ... you probably go far at building a tube amp...

    Congratulations..

    Adair Torres

  • Love it! Love my Wampler Pedals too!

  • WOW , WHAT A SUPERCOOL SOUNDING AMP.

IT HAS TONS OF DEFINITION AND HUGE GRIT.

EVEN WHEN CRANKED ALL THE NOTES

ARE PRESENT ,VERY MUSICAL AMP !!!

IT HAS THE BEST OF A FENDER BLACKFACE

AND A PLEXI .INCREDIBLE HOW MIGHTY

    THE TELECASTER SOUNDS.DEFINATELY

A VERY TOUCH RESPONSIVE AND A

    VERY DYNAMIC AMP.AWESOME WORK,BRIAN !!!

ADMIRATION & GREETS , GOD BLESS.

  • Nice. So does it use a split load phase inverter?

  • Nice job Brian! now if you just want to bring one to me up here in muncie that would be great! it would be a nice christmas birthday present from you... Just kidding, but seriously i could put it through some rigorous testing...

  • Definitely liked it with the Charon and the warmer speakers. Having said that, I use a DRRI and so the other cabinet probably would be more similar to what I have.

  • "a brownface meets blackface deluxe type of circuit" With a silver face aesthetics? :-P

  • Any chance on a reverb model my dad is now looking at Fender Reverb amps like the 65 Deluxe or Virbolux Reverb and this seems like it could be in that same vibe

  • Sending one to Burgerman666 soon?

  • While the amp has wonderful sweet tones in it for recording and the bedroom crowd, on stage for the working musician "in reel time during a performance" no one wants to be turning knobs on an amp head so I would suggest that the switches, FX loop, and gain boosts be "foot controllable" on the fly. "If so" I would like to to take this opportunity to be the first customer to officially pre-order one for purchase. Good luck with your new baby "shes beautiful" Brian.

  • @awesomejohnnet Ditto on the "footswitch comment, it was my first thought as soon as the video went to the description of the controls. One thing that I don't particularly like on many of Wampler's pedals is the boost feature is often on a toggle. I bought a Pinnacle reissue because it had the boost on a foot button. Good call.

  • I also agree that I would like more guitar playing. intended price? The amp does have a good tone.Give that amp more Indy tone/ that sound/that's unique to your best designs...a bit more Indy (and a high gain switch for metal)It has a sound I like and its not imitation crap. I am NOT going to buy a guitar amplifier head to play modeled amps, NEVER, not gonna happen.o I can tell, that it is NOT modeled its got a 12AX7 or ECC83 somewhere in it! and lots of potential to kick total ass!

  • Brian thanks for all the work Not a bad sound on the amp! Always Clear not muddy yet cranks with nice harmonics underneath. My suggestions are, add a parallel effects loop with a mix control, "please" add a second fatter chanel with one of your killer pedal circuits in it for us in the heavier crowd "but" retain the amps ability to clean up when the guitar volume is turned down so the touch sensitive players can make this amp sing! Premade Chinese boards assembled USA so we can all afford one:)

  • OK,here goes..cosmetics-overall the amp looks very modern and tough-like mad max modern--not sci-fi modern, I like the grill at bottom and the custom stainless plate-def says tuff but thats the one part that will get painted and kill half of what gives it a tough look. Leave stainless alone-the Fender lookin knobs gotta go. Maybe some black basic flat black,No creamNo colors.Distn currently sounds like TS-808,good, but I need a switch 4 unlimitd metal gain like recstortion w/out pedals 4me2buy1

  • people are posting some dumb ass comments... USE SOME COMMON SENSE! anyhow, Just checked the amp out, sounds pretty sweet, I really enjoy the tones coming out of it. It seems pretty touch sensitive and sounds nice. If I could change one thing ( I mean hey, its a prototype, and im sure you want feedback besides that 'its not loud enough' " I think it needs a little bit more body when your not working it, maybe a little more mojo. I feel like you really need to play hard to get the good tones.

  • Sounds awesome with the Charon cab...wow! I love the tone! I think you're on to something here Brian! Bring it!!!! Nice job buddy!!!

    Merry Christmas.

  • Good sounding amp I liked it better with the second speaker box. I know it is youtube but it seems not to have much low end. The only thing that i would add is an effects loop. Well Done.

  • I like the idea of the defeat-able master volume, much like the Swart AST Head (and others), but my feeling on the Swart, having had the opps to check it out, is that I would prefer if it was also footswitchable, like having a 1.5 channel amp. I'm riding the 6V train lately so I'm liking the tube choice. I'd love to hear it with a Les Paul...I work for one of your Canadian dealers so hopefully we'll see the finished product sooner than later.

  • I like it! You nailed it with the Blackface/Brownface statement! Can't wait to hear it with some Wampler FX!!

  • First I would like to say I really like your personal blog page, and I share your beliefs. Second I would like to say that the amp sounds great! I have a Jet City 2112 combo, and I really love it, but your amp is smokin' man! I hope to be getting one of your Superplex pedals soon! God Bless!

  • Sounds a lot like one of the 18 Watt Marshall clones with a plexi tone stack I built... The only problem with the 18 watters (EL84s) is it is hard to get a clean sound with any volume... but they do crank... I assume you are running 6L6s in yours. Got any pictures of the internals? maybe a video look?

  • @pubichare - nope, completely different than a 18watt (marshall). More similar to a brownface deluxe (as mentioned), though the preamp is a bit different. Also, the PI is a bit different. Power supply is different. power section is different (6v6's). Actually, all said, it's pretty unique!

  • pretty good, what kinds of tubes you running?

  • sounds great, would like to hear the amp with humbuckers as well.....:)

  • Sounds great!

  • Sounds great....I wonder what the final product will look like.

  • Nice tone but does not seem all that loud being wide open at times. I have a Crate V18 that I modded and it seems a bit louder at half the master setting.

  • @SIXSTRING63 - you won't be able to tell that from a video. The levels are monitored and normalized so that the input (of garageband) is fairly consistent. Trust me, if you were in the room it's PLENTY loud.

  • @wampcat Thanks for clearing that up Brian. I love your pedals and have used your books with great success and could not imagine that this amp did not kick a little butt. I read the post above and see that it is 6V6 powered. That should give some cleaner headroom in the power section. The Marshall phase inverter circuit does tend to add some distortion in itself. My V18 has a Marshall type PI that is very prone to unwanted distortion if you're not careful.

    Mike

  • @SIXSTRING63 Wattage rarely equals volume. A 5-watt amp is 50 percent as loud as a 50-watter.

  • @jacknarcotta Yes, I know that very well. The video compression made it hard to hear a big volume change when it was cranked up. Brian already explained that in his reply to me.

  • That's not going to fit on my pedalboard Brian! hahaha. Sounds great!

  • Sounds good so far Brian. Looking forward to seeing where it heads...

  • Great sounding amp! Lots of good tones from the amp and tele combination.

  • Very musical, usable tones. Great job! Hope its affordable.

  • Holy crap that sounds awesome! Not what I was expecting...

  • Most importantly!! Will the blue collar worker be able to afford one of these bad boys without having to go get a loan?

  • @jlowens6646 Maybe if they put up a schem!

  • @jlowens6646

It is all relative I guess.... For a boutique hand wired amp with character, "pretty affordable" can mean a lot of things. I AM hoping this thing will probably be in the $1000-$1600 target range in a combo or head. That's just a guess based upon pricing of another amp maker I have seen. Broad number I know... If he hits $999 for the head, he would probably be sold out of them all the time... But guess we have to wait and see!!

  • @azcoyote007 AND FYI - I am just guessing and hoping here. No idea what it cost. Make it a flat $1G Brian!!

  • Great tones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome!

  • Nice..hope we can get this in the UK!

  • What type of Tele are you using and what pick ups are in the guitar? I'm a high output pick up user as I really only use the guitars I make and some Les Pauls and 80's Shredder type guitars ; can you make a video so we can hear how it takes to a nice thick mahogany body with hot humbuckers in it ? and at about what volume level are you playing at in the video / the only reason why I ask these questions is because I run small recording studio on Long Island and like small low watt amps like this

  • Nice .... As with all your gear, very usable and musician orientated. My little (cheap) computer speaker dont do the sound any justice. Merry X-mass!

    Jahnez

  • Great Sounding..hope to see it in production.

  • great sounding amp brian! the interface might need some time to get used to, but it's really quite flexible like that! cool, bring it on! :-)=

  • sweet sounds!!!

  • I WANT IT! Great sounding head.

  • sounds great!
