  • THis is such shit. A complete perversion and bastardization of a real experiment. It doesn't prove anything except that people are morons. Out of the many, MANY reasons why this video "proves" nothing is that it's not science. Science isn't tricking people and playing head games. The fake Doctor should be ashamed of himself for participating. Unbelievable.

  • What a complete load of rubbish and a total smoke and mirrors distraction from the facts, which have nothing to do with MSG causing headaches whatsoever.

The whole point is that long term exposure to MSG causes obesity and puts people at a high risk of heart disease. It is a neuron-toxin and excites brain cells to death. There are so many things wrong with MSG that this video is nothing short of laughable.

I have no doubt that some idiots will fall for it, though.

  • These are paid actors. They would never have had this "experiment" approved without showing they were giving informed consent. Read the Nuremberg code. The entire premise of this episode is based on a lie-that these people had no idea MSG might be in their food. Doctors know it can kill and tell their diabetes and heart patients to avoid it. The Network would be sued if someone ate it and became seriously ill.

  • 3:28 she should go eat twigs in forest

  • a perfect little piece to distract you from the real truth. So sit back and eat your cheetos and stay unhealthy. the reason they put it in your food is it is taste so good you go back for more, and more, and more. that should be a good reason to avoid it. WAKE UP

  • @ICsickpeople

That's right! We should only trust food that doesn't even try to taste good. That eliminates the alterior motive of making you like food for the sole reason of getting you to eat it again later. Wake up, there is a tasty food conspiracy.

  • @ICsickpeople Yes the real truth is good tasting food sells better than bland tasting food, but that is not the topic here, it's whether MSG is dangerous or not. We now know it is not. So go ahead and feast on your organic un seasoned lentil gruel and heaven forbid you have a second helping of that tasteless slop as you will commit the sin of gluttony.

  • @ICsickpeople Funny then, that most people I speak with generally say that stuff like McDonald's and Cheetos s\tastes rubbish. There are many types of food that could be linked to a number of illnesses.

  • Why doesn't you or all asians get symptoms from MSG?

For the same reason that not everyone that smokes cigarettes gets lung cancer. Everyone's physiology is different.

There are several known factors that makes someone more sensitive to MSG. Hypoglycemia, nutritional deficiencies, defective or immature blood brain barrier, intense exercise and more.

Plus the asian diet is also usually high in taurine which provides some protection against MSG.

  • @PureLogic777 aren't most americans nutritionally deficient because the same food with the msg isn't nutrient dense?

  • @PureLogic777 maybe we asian r immune 2 MSG?

  • Yes, what are the long term affects?

  • Delicious meals

  • I know almost nothing about MSG, so I can't say whether or not it's safe. But I do know one thing:

To call this experiment "proof" is complete bullshit. To take the opinion of one scientist, and conduct an experiment on a couple dozen subjects with some Chinese food, has no scientific value. Not to mention that the "experiment" doesn't take into consideration the long-term health risks associated with many of the additives in our modern foods.

MSG may be safe, but this is hardly proof of that.

  • how the hell go people get migraines? My family seasons food with MSG all the time I have NEVER gotten anything like that. Also us asians have been using it for centuries so people who says MSG makes them sick can shove it up their ass

  • Even though this test is not purely scientific, for several reasons, the most obvious being the lack of statistically significance, the have never been a test on MSG proving any ill effects. And what is being questioned in this show is not their testing methodology, it is weather MSG is bad for you or not, and the probably wouldn't stand by their test as much as they would the result. Kinda like Jamie and Adam in Mythbusters.

  • if msg is so bad why doesn't everyone in asia have a headache

  • imo this proves nothing. The moment he told everyone that it was an msg experiment, the test was invalid. Not to mention legally they could not have been unaware they were in a test; due to ethical laws.

So statistical bias = 3:28 and anyone that raised their hands having known something about MSG.

    I call bullshit, food detectives.

  • Dang white people who can't handle seasoning that is different

  • 3:28 is the kind of bitch that always causes false positives in tests.

  • I so pwned my cousin with this.
