The whale looked a little mad. XD Maybe that was his way of letting you know he didn't like you in his territory. Looked like he was trying to scare you off, the repeated slapping of the his fluke and then his pectoral fin when he was right next to you. Still, great footage! I'd love to see wild Orca's up close.

First of all, I want to make it clear that the father and son in this video were fishing with the motor on their small fishing boat stalled. The Orca approached them! As for the "gay" comments they are rude and phobic. This devoted husband and father is not gay but if he were, so what? Yes, he was scared, also, along with being overwhelmed with the joy of the moment thus the joyful laughter.

Wow you are sooo lucky! There is no better evidence to say that orca had a connection with you guys! Swimming towards you and playfully splashed you at the right time! This is why the orca is my all time favorite animal. such intelligence in everything they do. These whale's even have their own personalities, advanced hunting tequniques and yet know how to socialize with other creatures of a different kind in a friendly way. No intent of harming anyone. It's a shame they are so fragile now :(

beautiful wild orcas, probably the 3 transients who have been seen lately here in the salish sea. free to swim, free from captivity, free to explore and hang out and eat when they want, without doing tricks for their treats. some say they swim upside-down to get an additional look from another perspective of these interesting humans in their boat.
