  • I was on Phi Phi in 1986...and ironically...the look of the now simple structures reminds me of what i looked like all those years ago. There were only the simplest of bungalows...no 2-story dwellings...I don't even remember that many beach bars...Samui had all the action back then...

  • oh well I've had a beer

  • I've been myself a few years back, many, many trees got wiped out as I saw on a postcard I bought.

  • I was at Phi Phi last weekend. Compared with this it is so commercialised. I know this will sound glib but there was a second tragedy here that they rebuilt the island the same way to cater for european tourists as before. My heart goes out to everyone who suffered and suffers from 2004. Namaste.

  • I vividly remember that day. i fortunately survived.. it was a such a traumatizing memory that I am still suffering from..

  • so once there was construction, now nothing.

Natures way of cleaning up the trash.

i kno, it sounds mean and cold hearted, but it's true.

  • @dherrer1 The risk of offering your opinion is that it affords you the opportunity of understanding how others think about it. Your comment sounds like a sadistic haiku. But, it's obvious that that's what was your goal.
