  • i thought bout of them were sayid at first glance

  • It would be weird if Jack saw himself in the coffin.

  • WTF?! I've never seen or heard of this.

  • Just proves they were making shit up as they went along.

  • @McSuperfly101

I'm sure they filmed the alternate endings for plot security. SOMEBODY's in the coffin and up until the last minute only the producers knew if was going to be Locke. This is not a new trick.

  • @gnilride You're right, they did this to keep the reveal from leaking.

  • I would have lost my shit if it was Desmond in that coffin.

  • Dhehesmohond... ohh... 00:29

  • Locke :'(

  • Hell, I wouldn't have been all that surprised if I was in coffin

  • locke had to die saving all people in the world.... bad finish to him like bad form of man in black

  • It would be even more fucked up if Baby Aaron was there....

  • @789123456789 :L!!

  • i would have loved to see how they said sawyer died. its almost impossible to kill him haha.

  • i would have tryed to use google earth to find the island :)

  • imagine if it was hurley...

  • @CopyriteInfringement he wouldn't fit in the coffin :D

  • @CopyriteInfringement i would be like 'dude!!!.

  • doveva esserci kate in quella bara!!!!!!

  • So were the writers just undecided? I mean, I know they were just making it up as they went along but still...

  • @McSuperfly101 They filmed the three endings to avoid spoiler leaks since they wanted to keep it a secret from viewers until it aired.

  • I remember I saw a video where Kate's the one that dies...

Can someone explain it to me, please?

  • @Pracaloid Back when it was still unknown who it was people made fake videors of who it was. Evangeline was in coffin is a movie supposedly, and people mashed it together with bearded Jack. These two were made by the real Lost team trying to keep the surprise of it being Locke from being leaked before the episode aired.

  • OH GOD! If it was Sawyer i would die!!

  • It should've been that prick Vincent.

  • @RDBeatnik haha

  • @RDBeatnik hahaha i could just imagine it showing vincent lying there...with all his fur and shit.

  • LOCKE WAS THE BEST GUY IN THE SHOW!!!

  • I don't get why they had these three endings, since the know that it would have to be locke in order for the finale to even take place.

  • @MrDetwaa they had three so people who worked on show wouldn't know which was real and it couldn't be leaked.

  • @MrDetwaa they planned the final season AFTER this scene. there is also the possibility that they recorded multiple endings to avoid accurate spoilers getting out like they usually did.

  • @honkeytroll The 'fake reveal' thing was originally used during the 'Who Shot JR?' hoopla with the show Dallas. They literally filmed the entire cast shooting JR just in case someone tried to leak the identity of the shooter to the press--including the actors who played his parents.

  • Would have made more sense if it zoomed into the coffin and it was none other than the dramatic gopher.

  • i miss lost i wish it would never end i almost felt i was part of the show i lived ,, i watch it none stope and finish it in weekes

  • I'd assume they shot all three endings so that no one but the highest up writers of the show actually knew which one was the real ending. The old show Dallas did a similar thing: it ended a season with the character JR shot by an unknown character. They filmed every single actor on the show (including JR himself) shooting JR so no one, not even the actors, would be able to spoil it. Which was great for publicity because of all the "Who Shot JR?" buzz that it effected.

  • Locke was without a doubt the best decision. Sawyer would've made sense too but Desmond? Weird xD

  • desmond died too, sawyer died too, everyone died. why bother?

  • @canaldopulgah Eventually though. Everyone dies eventually.

  • They shouldn't have proposed to kill any one of them, period. Those 3 were the only interesting characters (besides Ben and Hugo).

Killing a main character was just improvisation, and evidence that the producers had no idea bout how to end the show. They were just pulling crazy stuff out of a hat for shock value.

  • @kirk85kirk Wrong, they knew the ending of the show for at least three seasons. Six people in the show were able to see Jacob's cabin. Jacob, Richard, the Smoke Monster(Christian), Hurley, Ben, and Locke. Notice something? Hurley replaced Jacob, Ben replaced Richard, Locke replaced Christian. Also, the reason it was Locke in the coffin is because of the tension between Jack and Locke, seeing as Jack was supposed to take on the person who the smoke monster embodied.

  • @finalconflictpro Christian wasn't there (body never found) smokie took his appearance because of Jack the same way he took on Richard's wife appearance. But Locke's body was actually there so he took that form (and got stuck). Altough I still to this day don't know why Charlie died. If it were my I would've said:' Hurry Desmond, let's swim back the SAME way we came in. I have something important to tell everybody!'.

  • @finalconflictpro i dont believe that at all, lost was a show that was written 1 episode at a time, and i think in season 3 or 4 they had no idea how they wer going 2 end it... i really liked the first seasons of this show, but it turned into a huge piece of shit

  • @101andrewj They said during the 3rd or 4th season that Lost would end at 6. That means they knew how they were going to end it, otherwise they wouldn't have said when it would end. Killing Locke was a surprise at the end of the 4th season but by the 6th it made perfect sense why Locke, Sawyer, and Desmond were in the coffin. They knew exactly what they were going to do and when they were going to do it. Rewatch the series if you don't believe me.

  • i actually looked it up, and it was written season by season, not as a whole story... they actually lost the main writer after season 3... and putting a limit on how long the show will run does not mean anything, it can still be written 1 episode at a time... i watched lost series twice, and the way it looked to me is like they made all these interesting questions that made the show great and intriguing, then they came up with bullshit answers for half of them that did not add up

  • @101andrewj What happened was that, somewhere in the 3rd season, the writers weren't coming up with new ideas for the story (thats why Jack was Ben's prisoner for so long). They did, however, have ideas for how they would end the show. So, they asked ABC to set an end date, which they did (2010). After that, Naomi parachuted onto the island and the "freighter" storyline started

  • @MrWest1226 well i was still right... i sayd it was not written as a whole story and it wasnt, they just thought up some crazy things and then didnt answer most of them and for the ones they did answer they came up with half ass shit that didnt make any sence

  • @finalconflictpro it wasnt jacobs cabin it was smokeys

  • i love how the woman is laughing when she is saying "Desmond!"

  • hu i am wearing red undies lol don't ask meh why i am telling you this

  • @nipasea your hot

  • Think of it this way, Locke dead and in the coffin would have had the biggest impact on the fans than Desmond or Sawyer because he was epic and it made a nice contrast to Jack who became the keeper of the island (for like an hour).

  • good choice .

  • Desmond is so cute and sawyer is sawyer, so i am glad it was Locke !

  • Desmong would have make sense !

  • So if Sawyer was in that coffin Sawyer would be Mib in season 6? lol'D

  • if it was sayer i would just have stopped watching

  • the ENTIRE rest of the series would have played out so differently if it wasn't Locke, so I'm about 99% sure they would have never changed it, no matter what. And I'm pretty sure this ending did leak anyway...

  • Being Locke was the right thing, he was the right character for all that happened, it wouldn't have the same touch if it was any other character.

  • dumb ending ... wasting time for 6 years... big cop out

  • @frostgothic ITSUCK FOR YOU! IT WAS THE BEST 6 YEARS FOR ME!!! IT IS THE BEST OF THE BEST TV SHOWS!!!!

  • @frostgothic Just because you (and apparently several thousand others) weren't able to work out any of the answers that they gave us, there's no reason to call it a cop out.

God forbid a show actually asks its audience to think rather than explain it all on screen. Anyway, that's not the point; the fact that things are left so open is what will keep people talking about the show for years to come. Besides, if the fans got all the answers they wanted, they'd still bitch about being unsatisfied.

  • Comment removed

  • @frostgothic Sorry but if you watched the show and DIDN'T realise they weren't going to leave it open then the blame lies at your feet. If you didn't like it, fine. But you should've realised that no answers the writers could give could be good enough to satisfy the fans. And the producers wouldn't just tell the audience something like that, since it's a massive spoiler.

I'm sorry that you were afraid to think for yourself but maybe you should try it. It'll be more satisfying than whining.

  • @Guest1001 , thats exactly the point. Making a show without allowing the audience that it will have a crappy nonsense ending. I know producers could give no answers to most of the key question which would satisfy their 'fans', because the line story had gotten out of their hands and they themselves had no idea how end it, and it got so bad that it even made no sense to the actors (watch some Ben and John interviews). Bringing some blue elephants and expect audience to think about it, is as crap.

  • @frostgothic It's had a monster in it since the first series. What explanation can that have without it being a Godawful "science experiment gone wrong" storyline? If you kept watching after that then you have no right to bitch, frankly.

Just because you like everything spoon-fed to you doesn't mean Lost had a "crappy nonsense ending". If you don't like it, go back to switching off your brain to watch reality TV instead of moaning that television is too thought-provoking.

  • @Guest1001 you know it, I know it and the majority of lost 'fans' know it that most of Lost audience would have never bothered to follow the show if they knew how crappy and cheesy ending it was going to have. You do not wanna admit it? thats fine by me and others.Good for you. btw. This conversation is over. Thanks for your comments anyway:)

  • @frostgothic You're welcome. =) I'm happy for you to feel whatever you like for the fantastic ending of a great show if it satisfies you, so enjoy the comfort that comes from complaining with like-minded unappreciative reality television fans.

  • effin video stopped loading right when they were about to reveal who was in the coffin. lol

  • Should have been Sawyer.

  • Desmond looks exactly how I imagine Billy Mays looked during the funeral.

  • John locke was the best, i had a heart attack, when i saw it was locke

  • To me , Locke was the worst. He was my favourite character.

I love Desmond, but I think I woulda taken his death the easiest outta the three :P

  • @AliceCullen180 Well Locke being dead played out perfectly for season 6, ^_^

Imagine a desmond or james smoke

  • @vahnfish You're right, it really did!

I remember like flippping shit when they dumped Locke's body outta the box hahahah

A Des smoke wouldn't of been very .. hmm .. right, you know ? It fit Locke,

But Sawyer would've been okay, but it would've been sad to see that thing taking over Sawyer's hot body n face and whatnot ahahahhaha

  • It could've never been Desmond. Jack didn't have such a connection to Desmond to warrant how affected he was by the death.

  • DON'T BE LOST IN THIS END ...

  • if anybody had to go it was locke

  • @playfulpaul1985 What are you talking about? Locke was Lost. The show would not have been the same without him. Season 6 felt a little weird without the real Locke running around even though we sort of had him all throughout Season 6 with the physical form and look of Locke with MiB and the mind, beliefs and and motivations of Locke's character being carried on in Jack. Lost without Locke is like X-Files without Mulder. It's weird and not right.

  • @waerom locke was a fantastic character but he had to die. id rather it was in the very last episode of season 6

  • I cannot imagine my world without him! Locke

  • You all say you would have been sadder if it was Desmond or Sawyer but you say that because you have come to peace with the fact that it was Locke. You found out about 2.5 years ago.

  • man i was so sad also when it was Locke

  • when i saw locke i wanted to cut off my balls

  • @bartjuhh12 like a boss

  • Keep in mind that no one showed up to Jeremy Bentham's funeral and Kate said she didn't go. If it had been Desmond, I'm thinking Penny would at least be there, and if it was Sawyer I'd would think Kate would go. So, Locke is really the only one that makes sense.

  • @rabidrobbie if it would have been Desmond, Penny wouldnt have known cause the name on the news paper wasnt Desmond Hume...

  • search on youtube "lost memories 1-6" , the best tribute video for all fans

  • DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD: que bueno que no fueron asi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! asjldkjsklskljdaksjdqwo´f

  • Locke made more sense

  • I wouldn't handle James or Dessy being dead.

  • Fair enough all 3 couldve been possible. Des and Sawyer HATED the island and wouldve made sence if noone belived them that it was in danger. But it also made sence with locke cause he would do ANYTHING for it, and noone would beleive him if it was in danger .

  • There is this theory that when people die they are only possible of maintaining a consciousness similar to a dream. Never waking. Previously the longest and greatest story ever told that was about life and death was the life of Jesus Christ. But what if you were an atheist? Could it then be that the story of lost, full of science fiction, morality, and even faith would be the story that would tell us about our after lives?

  • woulda shot myself if it was sawyer or desmond...no wait i would actually shoot all the creators of lost and then shoot myself

  • locke is hands down one of the best actors in lost

  • @Nitro0xide Terry o'quinn is one of the best actors full stop. lost really hit the jackpot with him, michael emerson and the guy who played desmond. Check out "throwing from the handle". its not my vid but it shows how dedicated terry o'quinn is to acting

  • @Nitro0xide My daughter, who works in the business, tells me he's a great guy off camera as well. As is Emerson. Nice to hear.

  • I would have cried an ocean if it had been Des or Sawyer. Locke was just creepy.

  • Oh my god! thank you that it was locke and not sawyer or desmond. i really didnt like locke that much. if it was one of the other two i would have shot my self lol!

  • I am so glad it was Locke. He's like the only person who I wouldn't find wierd coming back from the dead... Well, not actually, but...

  • I am so glad they went with Locke if it had been Sawer I would have sewed friggin ABC for all its worth!!!!!!

  • @woodrles you would need a really big yarn ball for that

  • I think if Sawyer was in the coffin Lost would've lost half their fan base.

  • so were these possibliities that they were considering or just to throw people off if it leaked?

  • @RHCPfan458 Just to throw off leaks like someone posted the entire plot of the Season 3 finale ahead of time. They also got Locke was really in the coffin, which would be obvious since Locke's actor said these were done in one take each but he was their for like 10 shots!

  • I'm glad that they went with Locke. Desmond or Sawyer coming back as Smokey wouldn't have been as powerful.

  • @NikkiNob55 definately in the last episode when he screwed pretending to be nice and went all badass he was totally evil, he sliced up tina fey pretty good :L

  • wanna know what thing is goin to happen if it was sawyer(not meaning to the audience lol)

  • u wouldve known if it was a humoungous coffin it would be hurley

  • Locke's death was the only one that made sense. I loved the character, but it made sense for him to be in that coffin.

  • I'm glad they went with Locke

  • I was sad over Locke, but if it had been Desmond; I'd be in a coffin

  • locke has the scariest effective ending. But wish locke was the one to live as he was best char alone with charlie in the whole series

  • thought it Desmond was Steve Carell at first lol

  • hahaha James in the coffin looked funny, I bet James has never looked that good, Desmond would have been painful but Locke was the perfect person to die at that time and come back as the Man in Black

  • Think of how many people would have cried their eyes out if it was Saywer....

  • @MyHugeBoxOfGames very true at least he got off the island but seriously if it was jack now that would be crazy....

  • @MyHugeBoxOfGames or Jack, or Hurley, or ...[cont.]

  • @MyHugeBoxOfGames i saw the sawyer 1 before i saw the real end of season 4 and i did cry. and then i was sooo happy when i found out it was realy johne :)

  • Why Locke.... :'(

  • seriously... those are the alternatives? why not something / someone who matters.

for example jack or the polarbear.

losts cliffhangers are so lame and unimaginative

  • @zeusIII hahahaahahahha if it were the polar bear I think I would still be laughing my ass off...

  • just incase of what?

  • This show could have made history if it had made a lot of things clear.

  • I think that it couldve been better with Des or James, Locke LOVED the island, never wanted to leave, but with these 2 it would make more sense if smokey took them over as thier realselfs REEEEEEEALLLLYY wanted off the island

  • @jaguarclaw How come the MIB couldn't be shot until it was convenient for the writers? (If he was shot too early, then oh shit no more drama but when he's about to kill Jack he's gotta go so a bullet can kill him??!!?) It's just a bunch of plot holes. You get those when the writers get lazy

  • brotha!

  • @TWCLucifer

Or you can watch most of it on hulu, online, free, AND legit... At least the first 5 seasons.

  • wouldn'tve made much sense for sawyer or desmond to be dead cause:

    how did they die?

    what will happen next?

the rest of the seasons would have been too different and probably the finale wouldn't have been that good.

  • @kokoroyer Since the finale ended up sucking either way, I don't see what the big deal is. But then again, if it wasn't Locke we wouldn't have got the scene in the hotel room where he was about to commit suicide and Ben talks him out of it only to strangle him later (probably my favorite scene in LOST). So I guess it's lose-lose :(

  • You can never kill Desmond! HE IS GOD!

  • WHY LOCKE WHY?!?!?!?!!??! He was my favourite character! :(

  • @TheSupremelyEvilOne Mine too. The show was never quite the same after he left

  • It really didnt matter whether it was Locke or Sawyer but Desmond as the big bad guy woulda changed things around if the Man in Black impersonated him. It' woulda been sweet if it was Desmond but still wouldn't have worked.

  • lol i shat myself when i saw sawyer

  • did we ever solve why Walt was so special? what about the NUMBERS ? and what part did Darma have to do with it all? very poor ending

  • @130starfish I'll tell you why Walt was so special if you tell me why the world is composed of atoms. It/he just is.

The numbers represent the candidates to protect the source of all life on Earth. They appeared everywhere to the candidates to bring them together. I'll explain this more in-depth if you PM me.

DHARMA didn't have as much to do with it all as we might have though in season 2, and simply found the island and conducted experiments, testing the island's special properties.

  • @AttackoftheLuls Well you seem to understand something :P then tell me what were Widmore's intentions ? And Ben's ? If Jacob wanted a protector, why didn't he just take the real Locke right away ? Or actually take Ben or Richard instead of crashing a plane and killing so many inocents ? Why kill that Illana girl ? What the hell was the Sayid/Claire curse, and what would have happened if the Smoke Monster DID leave the island ? If Jack became Jacob, why was he not immortal ? TOO MANY QUESTIONS :P

  • @LexIoana Jacob was not immortal, he just did not age. Clearly he was killed. He could not be killed by himself or the smoke.

  • @LexIoana I agree. The finale sucked ass. In fact, all of Season 6 did. Who ever thought it would be a good idea to ditch the character study/sci-fi Dharma Initiative story line with a lame fantasy one should be exposed and black listed from creative work. Jacob/MIB ruined LOST. End of story. It would've been better if John Locke really did come back to life to lead the Others and the smoke monster was a failed Dharma experiment that the Oceanic 6 were called back to stop.

  • Do you even know how ridiculous you sound? It's the job of the storyteller to tell a comprehensive story. You know, one that MAKES SENSE and has a certain level of CONSISTENCY throughout. Lost abandoned everything it stood for in favor of a lame religious plot with Jacob. You cannot honestly tell me that the finale we got was what they've been building towards from day 1. They made it up as they went along, and yet it was actually still entertaining until Season 6 when it all went to hell

  • @130starfish I agree. The time travel to 1977 "Dharmaville" was brilliant, and that was their golden opportunity to answer as many questions as possible (because the main characters would be there when everything originally happened) but they totally blew it. I actually wouldn't have minded if all of Season 6 was them still in Dharmaville (or maybe another timeline in the past, perhaps they could live with the Others this time) That wouldve been better than the lame religious finale we got

  • WTF......so they must have had whole storylines prepared that branched off from season 4. Or maybe they really were just making it up as they went along......

  • @steigerlicious They did it so if spoilers leaked, nobody would know which one was real.

  • @macarion Ah, I see. Thanks, I thought that they were going to be aired if the Locke one leaked.

  • @steigerlicious Of course they were. If that horrible last season and lackluster finale didn't already give it away then this is your difinitive proof. And I'm not a hater- LOST is my favorite show (at least the first 5 seasons) I just feel like the gypped us with that crappy ending

  • @jaguarclaw Jacob died, did he not? there's gonna be a 20 minute episode about what happened with Hurley and Ben anyway in the boxset

  • @TheSPumpkin100

any idea when it is out?

  • @mark147celtz Nah i don't

  • @mark147celtz August 24th the same day as the offical Lost Encyclopedia.

  • Now that I know the finale I also know that the ending with Desmond was the best one, because if MIB takes his form there are consequences for that.

    Why? He is the violation...

  • Well der was an ending for ever charcter

  • I think that John never died... In the "black smoke" there is still a little bit of Locke...

Did you heard when the "black smoke" says: "Don't tell me what I can't do!!!" That gave me goosebumps... Maybe John was special and his spirit lived on, fighting the evil "black smoke", opposing to it's evil methods... Nobody thought of that???

  • see you in anotha life brotha!

  • @egdqv13234 LOL

  • They knew they needed to keep Jack and Sawyer in the show until the very end.

  • @thegorgeousgeeks Sawyer didn't need to stay to the end really..

  • @TlPeanut For the dynamic of Jack/Sawyer/and Kate...yeah they did. Not so much for the triangle, but for their interaction and relationships with each other. The fans would have torn their studios apart.

  • @TlPeanut While I enjoyed seeing him in charge during Season 5 (and surprisingly being a better leader than Jack and Locke ever were) I agree that his character had nowhere to go after Season 4. He married his silver medal-Juliet and then when she died he went right back to his angry/loner self in Season 6

  • Screwedbacon, where did the story go, anyway?

  • lul

  • Just in case? don't be ridiculous....they filmed them to confuse anybody that would try and leak the information, that's all.

  • Desmond would be like: Time to die brothaaa! (Scottish Accent) LOL

  • they weren't gona use the alternates. they were just to throw off any spoilers

  • better than locke.. damn, locke didnt deserve any of this. he was the true beliver

  • @gregbow You are so right . I was so mad that Locke was killed he should have been the new Jacob he loved the island so much

  • Comment removed
