  • Dude! answer our questions!!! Seems pretty dumb that you make a tutorial and then ignore our questions when we need help with something. I asked you one 2 months ago and you still havent answered me. when i select weight paint and click on a bone, it just selects the whole armature. Please, answer our questions. How do i select a bone to wieght paint it??

  • @TheWaynelds Is the armature in pose mode? Are you right clicking on the bone?

  • @amaihito should i be in edit mode with the armature? I usually do land scapes and machinery in blender. I still have yet to sucessfully model a human and rig it with IK and all.

  • help! I can't weight paint I try to select a single bone but it ends up selecting the entire armature

  • @superbum900 Solution: Go to object mode. Select the Armature. When the armature is selected, go to pose mode. Now rightclick the mesh (e.a. character you want to model). Go to weightpaint mode. You can now succesfully click on bones to apply weight instead of selecting the whole armature and exiting paint mode. This is some wierd problem that costed me a few hours to solve.

  • hi i have some problems with my weight. so this what i did. i add bone and skinned it to my model afterward i colored the area where the bone affects the mesh. satisfied with the work then i save it, later wanting to continue my work, when i check my mesh again it was a mess, i tried to move the bone, but this time it moves the area where i didnt include in weight paint. how to i solve tis problem? :(

  • Thanks this is a great tut, helps a lot of people, but i have a question: k, my mesh moves off sync, lets say i move my bone 90 degrees, the arm would move like 75 degrees, but the hand follows well, and they're connected so it looks really werid, a hand being in one place and the arm somewhere else, you know.

  • very good. This was how I learned how to use the armature in bender two years ago. Yet, it still applies to what I am doing. You did a very good job!!!!!

  • I'm having issues with the bones resetting along the Y axis instead of the X axis because I can't mirror the vertex painting. so how do I reset the armature?

  • @mariocbase When I select "Create from Bone Heat" It says Bone heat weighting error. How do I fix this?

  • @adq123196 I never had this error. "Bone heat" is "bones nearest to vertex", so is necesary align bones inside of the 3D shapes. I use Blender 2.49b because Beta versions can have unpredictable errors. Good Luck!!!

  • @mariocbase I guess it was from me making the head with one cube and then adding another cube and extending that one. So there were two cube entities, not one... That could be it.

  • when i parent the mesh and the bones it doesn't work. all it asks me is if i want to make a parent and i say yes and then when i go to pose mode and move it, only the bone moves and it comes out of the mesh. please help.

  • hey when i try to pose my model if i move any bones the mesh jumps off of the bone like if i rotate the bone 1 inch the mesh will rotate 2 inchs how do i keep the mesh on the bone

  • 2.5 that not ready let was easier. set bone to cat. i gone back to 2.49b. play with it. it work. but now i got this new problem. every time i move head lift or right. it look road kill (o,O)

  • two problems 1 when i make a x axis mirror with bones one of the bones is HUGE and the other is small,i cant even manualy adjust them right

    2 when i play with rotate in pose mode the mesh SCALES on the arms and dosnt look right how can i change this?

  • I made a mesh with doing mirror in modifiers and I applied it, but then the armatures move but the mesh doesn't go along with them (doesn't move at all). What should I do to it? -confused-

  • Aha, never mind. You apply the mirror and make the parenting again to the armatures and shape.

  • Go in Object mode, and select the mesh first, then go to weight paint mode, then go to edit vertex group choose the group you want to edit and go into weight paint mode.

  • go to autodesk's website or shop around there are good deals. the price varies alot for certain versions.

  • Nice one mate your a fucking star, ive done some modeling and ive armatured a Knight nicely but the part that keeps fustrating me is that the legs dont move right but the weight paint should help. :o)
