From what I've heard so far, Fall of Cybertron will give us more to look at, like Iacon will be ash covered ruins, and their will areas of Cybertron reduced to fields of scrap by the war.

How can you expect a open-world sandbox gameplay, when the story of this game is based on WAR?????

yeah the game does have a few minor flaws but its still the best transformers game since Armada and if you want a more sandbox feel try it out.But yeah other than that really the game was great but wouldnt it be awesome if they made a transformers game that was like oblivion at least in map size anyway and freedom plus complete character customization.Oh and one more thing Cybertron has never been boring except sometimes in G1.

Well sandbox would have been hard to do seeing as there's a non stop ferocious war going on... I found the game really easy even at the hardest difficult, well except the big bosses. The thing I disliked the most was the really limited ammo, at least at the hardest difficult... Anyways this is really the first true to it's name transformers game.

Picked it up recently for the PS3 and i'm enjoying it so far,the game sure does G1 justice.It is a shame no open world gameplay for it.Oh well maybe for the sequel i hope with more of a selection of G1 transformers to chose from.

@limitnonexistent well to be fair both of them are featured in the trailer of the game...

i played this game a LOT for a while but they crapped on the PC version and -never- patched us. server support is also sketchy. the pc community ended up digging into the files and found zeta and couple found exploits although i have never used any ever never even exiting map. anyway what a damn shame, i wont buy the sequel after this treatment

if the game had to be linear they could at least let you have sandbox gameplay as a reward for beating the game where you could go around and fight in the war

Not to mention (in my opinion) the character customization isn't what I expected it's almost like Halo 2 and it's multiplayer cutsomization.

Hey Luke Great Review looks liek we do think similarly the Linearit of the game is my biggest problem with it as well. That and i REALLY whish they had brought back teh Lion version fo teh Theme Cant Wait to play it online with you

Lets hope Hot Rod isn't introduced until a 3rd game, as soon as he enters the picture grab some tissues and start sending lots of hate emails to Hasbro. Same goes for the movies if Hot rod comes into the picture, the worst Auto Bot ever is going to drag the franchise down...again. Listen to me carefully Hasbro STOP Killing PRIME! With out him, the series sucks!

One can only hope. One difference I would like is to have Hub worlds, like they did with Ghostbusters. Exploring the Ark would be cool, a data bank on all the autobots. Also have the Megatrons War bird under the sea. Basing the game on the most popular episodes would be awesome though. Except I hope they don't do the Great War, Optimus dieing again would suck!

I felt it was important to mention. Both Omega Suprme and Trypticon are in the opening. So I guess people should have been upset with Hasbro and High Moon Studios for putting them in the trailer too. I suppose I could have said these are the bosses you face. But whatever. Gamers had to know you would be facing both since mission structures repeat. Land,Air and Giant boss battles

Only an idiot wouldn't know Optimus has the Matrix of leadership or Star Scream is a Decepticon. Im sorry but that comment abounds with utter stupidity. Even the last Transformers show Prrime had the All spark aka Matrix of Leadership. Same goes for the movies -sigh-

Ive already replied to some ones comment. I could have re worded it. But the intro the game showed both bosses. Its impossible people wouldn't know the Trypticon was the Autobot boss, Especially if Megatron fought Omega... sometimes I just can't win with you guys X_X

I really like the class system but I think it would be cooler if you could customize your own character more.

My friend, this review gets a thumbs up for mentioning the voice actors in this game. I can't tell you the number of reviews I saw that passed over them, or only mentioned Optimus Prime. Epic indeed.

@jedahdoma Oh yeah! The voice actors are really good for this generation; even if a legend like Peter Cullen voices an iconic character in this game. I like Johnny Yong Bosch, Steven Blum, Troy Baker, Nolan North, Corey Burton, and the many others that voice the other Autobots and Decepticons in the game.

Great review, Luke! I'm also a huge TF fan and this game is a dream come true. I hope that the sequel expands on the create-a-bot feature. Earth would be interesting but as long as the game stays on Cybertron we don't need to worry about any humans taking the spotlight away from our favorite robots in disguise. ;)

Spike was no where near as bad as Sam, or little Daniel either though. I think this format could even if its not a sandbox title. Still they could give us a little more free roam. Just hope sequel comes out in a year or so. Yeah this is kind of like a Review, but no score. I have to get reviews approved by GZ. I will be doing more indepth Review for my fan base, later this month. Since I have much more to say about this game =)

@kNIGHTWING01 That's true. I'm just worried that a game set on Earth could result in a lot of frustrating escort missions and fetch quests. A free roam feature would be very cool. Maybe in between missions you could freely explore areas that your side has control of. or even venture into enemy territory to collect bonus items like map data or weapon/ability upgrades. High Moon made a very solid foundation to expand on with a sequel and I'm sure that they'll go all out and wow us. :D

@deathsceane Yup. That is my only complaint about the voice acting. While everyone else sounded great, even Fred Tatasciore playing Megatron, it burns me to believe why Frank Welker has an ego to be paid lots of money to do a voice when he won't reprise it for this game. He played Megatron in the Transformers games based on the Michael Bay movies, but not this one. Hopefully, he'll reprise it in the sequel.

@RRPGReviews Granted Fred Tatasciore does a superb job as Megatron, but he sounds more like a Galvatron in my ears. Another Voice actor I would've loved to hear just for the hell of it would be Gary Chalk, but seeing as this is G1 continuity I understand that much.
