I am not an english native speaker,I speak english only in english classes but I still can understand what he is trying to say and I still want him to talk in his video.
it's amazing how long it took engineers to make a bipedal robot and now you can make one with spare r/c car parts xD oh and the halloween version at the end was frickin' awesome.
@ich3210 Arduino code would be much longer and more complex, that's why I'm not :) You can also just spend the USD16 and get an AXE230. picaxe. com/Search/axe230
Amazing Idea. I don't use PICAXE. I have another project in my hands, but as soon as i'll finish it, i'll try to do an RC version with a PIC. Thank you!!
I didn't talk... because didn't need to :) And because I thought it would be fun to do a video like that -- for the sake of it :D Heck, who else shows how to make a robot without saying a thing? Original video even did not have the texts, my editor made me put them on ;D
@fritslyneborg I don't care what people say, but I love it when you were talking coz you are funny and really nice and explain things clearly. I only subscribe to makemagazine so that I can see what cool projects you were gonna show and what you were gonna teach. YOU ARE COOL! forgive my youtube name.
why everybody uses hot glue for everything? like there aren't stronger or better glue, even for wood. Can somebody tell me why hot glue is so much used in all these make projects?
@lordicemaniac Sure: A* It's fast, cooling down - done! B* It's strong enough to hold something well, but easy to take things apart again - and easy to clean completely off. C* It has it's own "body" - it can be used to support uneven surfaced, like the feet on this robot, they are not level, but stuck on a blob of hot glue it's no problem :) D* If something falls off, or you want to adjust, you can heat the glue, and re-mount. A matter of the right glue for the right job ;)
The reason why he stopped talking is because a lot of people were complaining about not being able to understand him with his accent. So he took a different approach and wrote everything out for our convenience. Thumbs up.
Just a quick note about the threadlock... You should apply it to either the bolt or the nut (or threaded hole) before you assemble them... Adding in afterwards is not that efficient.
Are you able to write the commands in the arduino program and then send it over to an ATtiny 45 or 85 instead of using axe230. If you don't know how to upload arduino code to an ATtiny 45 or 85 you can check out the video with Matt Richardson.
@keits96 Picaxe is more suitable for that robot! It is smaller, and you don't need an arduino to control 3 servos, that code is very short. Also, it is always good to experiment with a whole load of platforms.
@MarshFacev2 it's designed for metal and plastic, but you can use it for wood, but that will take longer than using a proper hand saw and the metal support will stuck if you cut a large piece of wood, so it's useless!
@24853765 Yeah...I know your right. I just enjoy hearing him talk. I can hear it in his voice that he really gets excited about what he's doing & that makes it that much more fun for me : )

1. Robots must never harm human beings or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. Robots must follow instructions from humans without violating rule 1.
3. Robots must protect themselves without violating the other rules.
