  • Nice hands, not your first rodeo. Good video man

  • cold weld... preheat were there is to be weld metal, make sure base metal surface is liquifying before adding filler, this will insure a perfect weld, making a good fusion of filler and base metal as one, how ever a cold weld is when you add the filler before the surface fo the base metal liquifies when adding the filler it will appear to be welded, when over time, it will slip of the base metal do to lack of fusion...

  • Wow that a big nuetral flame!

  • Acetylene smell soo good! :)

  • my 15 year old nephew can weld better then that lol

  • i'm welding very thin metal, do i need flux?

  • @GIDAN2987 Sir yes Sir Mr. Grammar Nazi Sir. Now go and find a new vocabulary.

  • @GIDAN2987 so why dont you just run along and lick your moms penis wrinkles

  • @GIDAN2987 yea, ok you pompus little prick, im not the one who even stared this, that was you unless you were unaware. and btw, i wassnt trolling, you need to find a new, wider vocabulary, and as far as your last "insult" you are what you eat, so yea, in that case i am a pussy.

  • @GIDAN2987 a lack of respect for other people, and unlike you, i WILL go and fuck my girlfriend, but unfortunatly for your weird fucked up mind, shes not fat, so im sorry but u cant get off to a skinny girl, so why dont you just go back to jacking off into a twinkie and eating it wishing that you HAD a girlfriend.

  • @GIDAN2987 ok, you are just a fat pretentious fuck who needs to go and get a life instead of sitting on the computer all day jacking off and sitting on youtube looking for comments to troll on, just because i said "dude, thats a terrible bead" doesnt mean that im trolling, and im not, because if i was there would be a whole lot more comments on here telling him that his welding sucks and what not. but theres not. everyone has their own opinions and you need to respect that, but you seem to have

  • Thanks for the vid. haha, HCC, that's where I'm taking the class at now!

  • I Got A Victor Oxy-Acetylene Torch For My At Home Cutting And Welding Practices. I Enjoy Using It, Because It Helps Me Get Better At Welding. I Took Welding In College A Few Years Back And I Can Truly Say That I Have A Passion And Hobby For Welding. I Love Bonding Steel And Metal Together.

  • There are people on both sides of pushing and pulling the bead. Ive just started learning welding and am starting with Oxy Ace; I have found leading with the torch and pushing with the rod easier. Do you lead with the rod for any reason?

  • anybody else think those were really big pipes at firts?

  • @h00mzi your a nutter you can clearly read books well studying to be an engineer ive been making things with metal and working in the automotive trades for years quit with your 'rutile basic or celluose' bed time storys that no men really want to hear grow a pair and have a go yourself its all about expericence thats what you need you probably couldent strike a match let alone an arc! try getting yourself a job in a workshop and not infants school best of luck from the UK

  • @harryanderson1991 and why would you be telling me this, i can weld! all im saying is i didn't learn it in the book i learnd to weld in my workshop with a welder in my hand. if you dont belive me, i'm willing to send you pics and videos of stuff that i made.

  • Can someone say handicap??

  • im studying to be mechanical engineer, so belive me ive read enough about welding, but i learned even more in the workshop... besides you heve description on every box of electrodes why are they good for, whether rutile basic or cellulose (arc welding)... and when it comes to TIG its best to use rods of same material. DC is used for welding all sorts of steel, inox,...and AC is used for welding aluminum, HFAC uses skin effect so you can concentrate current (and heat) unly where you need it...

  • I'm 23 and I haven't had a chance to weld yet, but I probably know more about the process (including the chemistry behind it) than a lot of people who have welded. It's amazing what you can learn by reading books, manuals, periodicals, etc.

    Just my $0.02.

  • @walterbrunswick i know a guy like you....he sucks at welding. and all the books in the world wont get you a feeling of how to move your welder

  • @h00mzi Thank you for your kind words. I'm curious though, how exactly do you "know" that I suck at welding if I haven't welded anything yet?

I'm pretty good with my hands, so don't be so hasty to draw conclusions;)

  • @walterbrunswick im just saying, when it comes to welding its just practice practice practice....

  • @h00mzi No dude it's not. We had a similar discussion in my HVAC class. Theory is an essential part of the process. How do you know whether to use a 6011 or a 7024 rod for deep penetration? Or welding uphill? What about polarity? DCEP or DCEN? or AC? Or what is HFAC and why should you care? etc.

All I'm saying is don't be ignorant, and don't be afraid to pick up a book. They don't bite..

  • @walterbrunswick anything else....btw youre being ignorant here i can weld and know the theory behind it and youre claiming you know how to weld just by reading the books...i know how supercars are made and still i probably couldn't build one

  • Could this weld two rather thick (0.25 inch) steel tubes together without compromising the inside shape?

  • @jcole60brit I don't know, it would get really hot and maybe warp. That's really thick for this process.

  • @freddytk421 i m taking fabrication in school i cant wait to start welding. my top thing i want to try is plasma cutting

  • @jcole60brit probably too thick, MMA welding would work fine with a skilled enough man on the job :)

  • @jcole60brit use a smaller tip.

  • how come when i oxy ace weld my stick always just drips into balls on the metal.. and the when i put the stick closer. it sticks to the metal? please help

  • freddy, whats a good cover for a welding table top made from 2x6's?

    Ferd

  • can anyone tell me how much an oxy acetylene kit would cost in general oh and i live in canada if that helps

  • @calmine111 consider you will need tanks of both oxygen and acetylene (many different sizes, you will need a stand/cart for the tanks to be chained on, abs also iv seen all the following in one kit, the tank valves, hoses to the torch, tortch body and a few different use tips, and lastly a flint/striker. so a good quality set up with a couple good size tanks cans get pretty costly. go in to a local norco/welding shop if they have them in canada and see what they can tell you.

  • @calmine111 Just priced a medium duty whole torch setup, about $775 USD

  • So isn't this alot like tig welding? Just with Tig you have more control over the "flame"

Also do you use the same rods with tig as with oxy0acetylene welding?

    Thanks Freddy

  • is there a flux needed to do those types of welds? we weld mig tig and stick but never learned to oxy weld. we braze very well too!?! we know brazing is not welding but is it pretty close? Joseph T fly2000jtb

  • i'm in grade 10 and i can weld 2 pieces of steel rod together without using filler rod...

  • @looloopklop: so could i. It's not that special. its the first thing we learned...welding wthout filler rod.

  • Hey guys quick question need answers fast.

if i were to buy a torch that uses Acetylene Oxygen would i be able to weld together two steel pipes that could sustain 200 pounds of pressure? im building a chair and im new to welding

  • @GetMerkedHD yes.

  • @GetMerkedHD Yes...with a fair amount of practice.

  • dude, thats a terrible bead

  • @Nuffums That's not me welding it's Tjtorchart. I'm sure he would love to hear your comments on his channel. LOL MY oxy welds are the best in the universe.

  • @freddytk421 HAHAH dude dinging on the instructor....what the hell? Everybody's an expert.

  • Comment removed

  • @looloopklop LOL why would you think that? please explain.

  • Comment removed

  • @looloopklop well your teacher is full of shit.

  • @looloopklop filler rods are for welding material, fusion is for tacking and looking fancy buy no strength

  • Yea baby ACC. Higher education!

  • im buying a portable axy acetylene kit and was wondering how much welding time i could get with a 20 cubic ft. oxygen tank and 10 cubic ft. acetylene tank.

  • he doesnt do any root weld at all just adds filler rod and at the begining of the video where he is tackin the very 1st bit he should be heating the bottom piece of metal 1st as heat rises and would melt the top piece quicker instead of the other way round

  • @gonerongdotcom Those rods are side by side.. Are you saying he should heat the bottom instead of the top where he is welding? Not all welds require complete joint penetration especially if it's just for ascetics such as in artwork like he's making. he does angle the torch more and moves it around more than I like to.

  • "Need a light?"

  • i don't see any part of the two rods forming a molten puddle and actually "welding" together. i see him melting the filler rod and filling the void between the two rods. instead of actually welding or fusing the two rods together, he seems to be gluing them together with filler rod.

  • @pacificcoast I can see it. I don't know what to tell you, try watching it in 780p resolution.

  • @freddytk421

could very well be that I'm just not seeing it on my screen.

  • @pacificcoast Look at the button next to the volume. The up arrow lets you watch it in HD. if you still can't see it look at my HD playlist there is a better example on the last vid on there.

  • Awesome man!! In this video, you can see a lot of detail! Great video! Thanks for sharin!!

    5*s!

  • Tom is my hero! =)

  • Great video, really lets you see the puddling and technique... helped me understand a lot more then I did 2 minutes 23 seconds ago!

  • Freddy, stunning indeed, but don't forget to tell the folks that the book, "Welding As Art", or maybe "The Art of Welded Sculpture" with stunning video accompaniment, will be out in the fall, compliments of Kendall Hunt Publishing. (Gingras also sells Cobra Torches!)

  • nice job!!cool vid!! 5/5

    james

  • Great closeup. Very clear. That dude had a nice touch with that filler rod!

  • He's alright I guess, Its really my stunning videography that makes this video. LOL Thats Tom Gingras BTW check out his other videos in my playlists.
