@garibay711cod make sure you DONT rush it, get on the highway and ride there comfortably, make sure you dont go under the speed limit though cuz when you get passed by trucks and semis it feels like theyre gonna blow you off the road, go about 5 over the speed limit for about a half hour and you'll get more and more comfortable, im only 20 and i started ridin when i was 16 so i remember what it was bein like you first starting out, im not the BEST rider now but ive been over 200 multiple times
haha cop prob pulled that other poor biker over instead. & people usually get this wrong.... its not speeding that gets you pulled over, its slowing down ; )
I'm all for people going fast on their motorbikes but you should have done it when the roads were less populated. If any of those cars changed lane without looking or didn't indicate or both when you were coming up behind them.... Put it this way, it wouldn't be pretty. If you are going to do it mate, be more careful.
im not sure how fast those can go, thats nuts, the fastest ive gone was 140 mph on the US60 in Mesa, AZ. On my 1987 Honda Hurricane, i probably could have gone faster but cops n such are around and you gotta be careful who you pass by lol
Sweet bike and good vid. But, you do realize that if any one of those cars that you are passing makes one wrong move (ex. changing lanes), you are dead right? I mean do you really think they will see you coming down that lane when you are going *that* fast?
did this guy looped around on the same highway? it seems like a part of the video was edited out when he took the first exit after seeing a cop car and another exit to get back on the same highway again?
i like going fast too. i got a 07 busa that i open up every now and then. but what happens when a car doesnt see you coming and switches lanes right in front of you. i bet it would hurt
ive watched this vid so many times over the years..you could blindfold me and id recognise it just from the sound.actually one of the vids that made me get into street bikes
The cops around here wouldn't even chase the guy. Shit, he was already doing faster than most of the squad cars around here can go and he had more left. It's not like they can lay spikes and I seriously doubt he was stupid enough to leave his plate visible.
Seriously though, that's insane. I'd love to do that.
yeah if they are at a stop and your goin that fast just take a turn and accelerate they wont get you and they cant read the licence plate so they wont konw who you are
I get the feeling that he might have gone by the cop car on PURPOSE, to taunt the cop. A guy crazy enough to go that fast is probably crazy enough to taunt cops for the added thrill.
Oh piss off you soppy cunt. Just because I go 170 mph doesn't mean I want to get pulled over, have my bike impounded, and be sent off to jail. Get yourself a sport bike and see how hard it is not to speed.
I own a 2001 GSXR 1000 with a full Yoshimura and Power Commander. Now true it's my first bike but it's VERY easy not to speed. It's called self control and restraint. Not to mention I know how fast that bike is and have nothing to prove. But it is one helluva rush cracking 120+. I got to 130 before I backed off and got scared.
: ) Thanks. I got rid of it though after upsetting my wife, it was the concession I made. Luckily, my best friend has it and I still get to ride it once in awhile.
People don't buy super and hyperbikes so they can practice restraint. They buy the bikes because they are motorcycles meant to be raced and pushed hard. If you wanted to practice self control and drive slowly, why did you choose to buy (though they are not anymore ) one of the fastest production motorcycles (Hayabusa and newer GSXR 1000's set aside)? You talk about self control, but then talk about getting her up to 130.
You have no more self control than the rest of us "crazy" sport bikers. The difference is that you are new, and (as you should be with a liter bike) scared of your bikes power to get you hurt. Give it some time, and you will want another bike because yours seems slow. You'll be wanting a newer 1000 or a Busa, and even those will be slow for you when you get over your fear. Shit, when I first started riding I was scared of 55mph. Now, on my Busa, I regularly hit 190 mph with my ATRE.
Actually the only reason why I bought the GSXR 1000 was because the bank would not loan me the money for the 750 I really wanted so I got the liter and just took it easy. Yeah I pushed 130 so I knew what it was like and it scared the fuck out of me and I have never done it since. That was easily 6 months or more ago. I'm not saying I'm better I'm just saying that we're not all speed raving lunatics as compdude47 tried to make us.
I love speed as much as the next guy, again I admit I did 130 racing another guy up a freeway and it was a blast. However, my life is more important than a few kicks that may cost me more than I could ever regain. So that bike has been given, yes given, to my best friend that helped me get it and I take it out from time to time when I want to ride. But, I know I'm not responsible enough to always keep it under 100. Call me what you want because of it. I know I did what was right for me.
I won't call you anything for it. You did what you thought was good for you, and nobody should give you shit for that. No need to give up riding though, if you really like it. Have you considered a slower touring or cruising bike? Heck man, my dads Harley Sportster can just barely make it to 100mph going with the wind:^) However, it's still a fun bike.
Why am I afraid of it? Because people can't drive and it only takes one wrong move to end your life. Also, respect. Respect for a high performance machine that has the ability to rip your fellas off and hand 'em to you after it calls you a punk.
at 30 seconds...thats a cop car, if the dash cam got that license plate you or whoever is on that bike is fucked. i have a feeling thats why he went straight to the exit lol. but going over 100 will get your license taken away, going 160 will get you a 6000$ ticket and possibly permanent loss of license. At least thats how it is in my state.
that was a really good notice on the cop car. your state is different then others as each state has its own laws and regulations. I am from and registered residence of California and I got a ticket in Las Vegas, NV a month ago going 136mph. luckily didnt go to jail nor my bike impounded. i did hire an attorney to represent me at a cost of $150. very cheap.. my attorney is stating the ticket should be no more then $500. I was charged with wreckless driving.
lol, there is no way in hell a dash cam is gonna pick up the license plate of a bike going that fast by him. Stand at the side of the road one day and have a bike blow by you at 170ish miles and hour and see if you or a camera can even see if he has a license plate, let alone the details of the plate.
In the biking world, we like things to be clean. A simple fender eliminator that has the place tucked deep under the tail on an angle is more than enough. Imagine trusting duct tape to hold anything on at these speeds :)
Very true, but I did not imply that the duct tape should hold anything. I meant that the duct tape should cover the numbers on the plate. Duct tape would stay in place because the air turbulance is less than, say, the front of the bike. Just my opinion though.
@Travisshai Lol I too watch tv :) Watch nascar on tv someday. When they give you the close up at the fence, watch when the cars go by. As they pass at 200mph, try to read some of the ads on the back of the car. With the naked eye, it would be hard. Imagine a cop doing that with his eye at a standstill watching a bike go 150mph+.
Top gear did a test where a car going 173mph was not detected by the photo radar btw. Look it up, it's pretty cool.
@itinkle .. Well since you know me so well LOL.. I happen to attend NASCAR races in Richmond, Martinsville, Charlotte, and Delaware as well as watching races on television when we cant make it to the track..
