This is a misleading video that uses the words of a man who has vested personal interest in assuring that the Lieberman Warner Legislation doesn't pass...Now I'm not saying he is wrong but to listen to this is misguided and your arguments are only repetitions of what is being said.
If the economy is so "overtaxed" and "overregulated" (federal income tax is around just 30-40%, corporate tax is just 40%), why are we still able to get an average 3% annual GDP growth?? You guys need to come up with better talking points. This shit is so easy to refute. You call yourselves a think-tank??
How come I see nothing about this on Bill O'Reilly's show, Neil Cavuto or MSNBC or CNN (except on Glenn Beck, I think he's the only one who talks about Global Warming at all). What's the matter, doesn't this topic get ratings? Or is it because it is a bi-partisan Ripoff to the American People they are not covering the story??????
So if I understand this cult's argument correctly, they believe decreasing the unavoidable damage to the United States' (and the rest of the world's) economy, and mitigating the likely chaos the world's climatologists forecast, is "bad for the USA's economy."
One is forced to ask the cult: Just how much money is "too much" when it comes to lessening the impending crisis? What's the cult's alternative?

Well the Gore-Bull Warming faith wants to redestribute US weath overseas as a "solution" to the "problem." Oh yeah, did you know you could grow Oranges in Britain during the middle ages? Musta been all that Gore-Bull warming from all those cars William Wallice built in Scottland.
The Gore-bull warming scam targets the US for reduction is CO2 Emissions, inspite of the fact that China is actually the number 1 producer of "green-house gasses." Wait, I know what you're thinking "but China has 1.5 Billion people!" True per capita the US produces more, but per capita Qatar is ahead of the US in CO2 emissions, yet Qatar and China are not being pressured to destroy their economies, primarily the US is.
Okay so I guess the Kyoto treaty then didn't unfairly target the United States? I guess it was fair after all and since gore-bull warming is such a real problem they pushed for across the board emssisions cuts from everyone...right, RIGHT? Of course they didn't. Under the treaty China and India aside from the fact they are the biggest two polluters didn't have to do ANYTING! No wonder they were all for it.
So.... what is this cult's alternative solution to the pending disasters that will be caused, and the current disasters that have been and are being caused, by global warming? Is everyone just supposed to buy guns and ammo and fight for food, water, and living space? Is that their idea of a "good USA economy?"
Any serious attempt to combat AGW would have to include China. They're on pace to exceed whatever carbon emissions the U.S. would've produced. But as long as there's good intentions behind the plan, who gives a knucklefuck about results?
It's only a matter of time before some similar legislation would be enacted to to regulate individuals' lifestyles in relation to their "carbon output."
Hah! I COULD just go and create 10 different account names and vote my own comments into the "green" territory, but that would be pathetic and cult-like.

For once I am in agreement with the Heritage Foundation.
This bill will cost billions of dollars to U.S. taxpayers in subsidies for the nuclear industry, and will also slow down efforts to fight climate change and its adverse impacts on the national economy and the environment.
The bill contains a nearly half a trillion dollar earmark that can be accessed by the nuclear energy industry for nuclear power plant construction.

The authors of the bill tried to conceal the nuclear funding under ambiguous language because there is little support for nuclear energy outside of its own industry. The technology has never been financially or environmentally viable.

Other G8 nations have built new industries and markets around "Green" ideals, but we have reverted to the 1910's industrial model of following the company line at our own peril. Corporate America complains about US tax rates but guess what, a major reason we have so much "foriegn investment" is that our cost of doing business is lower then other industrial nations. US companies do business in 3rd world dictatorships with overwhelimg poverty then tell us taxes are lower there.
It's not like Hertiage Fnd. was wrong on Iraq or anything else, not like they'd ever fabricate the truth for their own $ gain, just look at how well all the other "pro-growth" Bush and GOP policies have served us for 7 of the last 8 years, look at where we are now...
Let the market freely work. The Invisible Hand of the market will create the incentive. Taxing companies, which some genious's still don't understand, will do nothing but raise prices across the board. Companies will not let taxes eat into their taxes they will pass on the cost.
This is a slanted Pro business view...that said...do we need to fund access to our markets yes...Money is needrd to maintain our transportation infrastructure. We also need to fund our Border Protection of and inspection for harmful import goods. I belive a flat tax at 4 cents per Retail item is a starting point.
So it's bad for the economy...you know what's worse? Destroying the planet at the present rate. Bunch of geniuses at the Heritage Foundation...I tell ya.
if we dont even have a economy we wont even be in a position to give money to greedy bureaucrats who pray of the ignorance to people like you who really think they are helping the planet.
The observed fact of global warming is vastly more harmful to USA economy than any bill that is in place to slow down global warming. Climatologists are nearly unanimous in their concern that it is already too late to avoid disaster-- the best we can do is lessen the consequences of the warmer, and the warming, Earth. The pseudo-conservatives (i.e., neo-fascists) as "Heritage Foundation") don't care that our children will suffer horribly because of their lies and obstructionism.
"You're just emotional and ignorant. I feel sorry for you."
No, No, and I hope you feel sorrier for the people in the future who must live in the sewer we left them because assholes like you and cults like "Heritage Foundation" lusted after money and power at the expense of turning the planet into a shit hole.
Cap-and-dividend (not cap-and-trade) is the best of the market based solutions I've heard. It could have a net progressive effect. See "Cap and Dividend: How to Curb Global Warming While Protecting the Incomes of American Families," Nov. 2007. But much progress could be made w/o market solutions if the EPA would strictly enforce existing command-and-control regulations such as the Clean Air Act, rather than adopting interpretations of the CAA that undermine its purpose to benefit industry.
The Bush administration (well okay people that worked for them) put together a great report on why GLOBAL WARMING would be really bad for the economy. Then of course they realized how politically inconvenient that was. Let's say it's not up on their website anymore.
Then there was the pentagon report on the effects on the security implications of global warming and it's destabilizing effects around the world.
But forget all that. Spend now. Get yours while you can, hell with the grandkids.
Yeah, you would have to believe global warming is a hoax for this not to be the stupidest fucking argument ever.
You see a rational person would see it as a little drag on the economy to help avoid a HUGE drag on the economy later.
Ask the ranchers in Texas about all the locusts they have because it doesn't get cold enough in the winter.
I'll be laughing when people figure out the Southwest will get too dry for all the people that are moving there. $4 gas meet $10 drinking water. Thank Bush!

Thou I respect Senator Lieberman as a true Kennedy democrat - This bill caters to the fictitious proviso that there is actually global warming. That despite the far left is adopting new language to mask their anti-industrial rhetoric, they aren't fooling anyone. Global warming... climate change - whatever you want to call it; it is nothing more than racial environmental activism at the state level. This is non productive, but pro-destructive.
Hahahaha Global warming is just a liberal conspiracy to destroy the economy and make us all communists?
Did Rush tell you that? That's so incredibly stupid you couldn't possibly have thought it up yourself.
So if scientists everywhere around the world said a giant meteor was going to hit the earth would that be a big-government liberal scheme to funnel more tax dollars into Nasa?
