This opening seems lke it more relates to the old anime version of this. It's just disapointing that Ashton is part of the storyline. I didn't find out how to get him until after I made it to the second world.

Strangely, when I first booted up st:se for the psp, I got this opening, but every time since, I got the other one.

Maybe it's a one-time only opening to excite you then youj'll have the other one

True, but they did explain that if you back out of the main menu after the first opening, you'll get the other one. And this does work.

To get this one to play when you get to the title screen where it gives you the options of New Game or Continue just don't do anything or touch any buttons and in a minute or two this will start to play.

the scene from 0:16-17 reminds me of FFVII's sephiroth scene in nibelheim (did i spell it correctly?)

That's not surprising since this game is published by Square Enix. And yes, the burning scene does remind me of Sephiroth burning Nibelheim to the ground, only they've substituted Dias for Sephiroth.

Similiar thoughts ran through my mind and I'm curious at whats going on. Dias is my favorite character so I'm sure its nothing like Sephiroth though one will wonder what happened.  The place he is at looks fimiliar though; like somewhere on Nede. Does the place look fimiliar to you?
