The movie was made in like 1980, it doesn't mean that they have to have the commercial in the 80's too. The hotel is still there, so it is not like the hotel was there for 10 years then vanished.

I think this one is hilarious. More companies should come up with witty commercials like this... I hate Microsoft too (they always release their stuff TOO SOON), but this Parody is totally funny. Love the "hey Lloyd".

It only confirms my contempt for Microsoft. Apple was so on point with their "mac and pc guys." Mac paints your "PC Guy" as a chubby, incompetent, older man with no new ideas. And you know what? Your own ad only confirms that image.

In the opinion of many movie lovers, there's nothing worse than to make a spoof of a good movie for commercial gain. I'll have to admit that there have been a few ads that do it in good taste. But this one is just tasteless. If Bing wants to lead the Internet world, you have to do it by demonstrating that you're a fresh company, full of ideas, and on the cutting edge of technology. That ad only confirms the opposite!

Just saw this for the first time tonight!! GREAT commercial! .. Made by a true fan of the Shining. Music, sound, set, props, symmetry are all spot on. A commercial full of homage to a great movie... a ghost character named Lloyd, twin duality, red jacket on the husband, and even a shot reflected off a mirror, which was also used in the movie. Wonderful commercial that made me think. Maybe I'll use Bing a bit more!
