Wish someone would post some stuff from Soul Route...a Pablo recording he did for Milt Jackson with Ray Brown and Mickey Roker...some of his very best and a great record that most people have never heard.
Deliciously...shocks me that magnificence like this has somewhat played out. Loved Him the last time I saw him and Les Mccann! Shocked Me that He knew Piano!
Gene was the man! When he played, you stopped whatever you were doing to listen. There's a cat named Robert Turner who was raised on Gene's riffs and was so inspired he wrote and recorded a song titled "BLUES FOR GENE". He is all about bringing back this kind of stuff. Check him out and if you can support his cause. He is a worthy representative of this genre and truly admires and respects Gene Harris.
Oh my g...has anyone heard their Fever? It effing gives me feevah GOD I love it. Don't know what album it's in, I have it in my The Blue Note Trip, Somethin' Blue, Somethin' Old

@thedizzit Probably because the Beastie Boys sampled this album extensively for Paul's Boutique.
