  • Thank you for posting this. I remember seeing this a while ago and this brings back memories

  • Best movie ever.

  • GREAT movie. Full of great performances (Nolte and Caviezel inparticular), amazing cinematography, unique film-making, profound script. I loved it so much, and this coming from someone who was so impressed with The Tree of Life I had to see this. And it STILL exceeded my expectations

  • it would be amazing if you posted this whole thing.

  • 2:01 I wonder how the cameraLadies,FEMALE cutterS, etc managed Not? to fall inLove?? with James ; probably/I-Hope most of them were into Famous Clooney or/and Cusack, etc than -Unknown- ( pun Intended ) Caviezel

  • the war is just a background to the immense philosofical journey that is this movie

  • jim kinda reminds me of Christian Bale LOL

  • kirarox99, Lick BALE's ArseHOLE, Swallow his Fluids too.

-TheThinRedLine- was shown (again) very late, last night on one of the UK tv Channels , so NO white, english "ppl" + their KIDs would get to see it as they would not understand it anyway. If there are No PORN/explicitSex Scenes, white/english: KIDs, woMen + men doN't watch (in that order, kids & woMen DO/Watch More PORN than men)

  • @kirarox99 yeah but he has SO much more personality than Bale lol

  • @larserikgill...History is a funny thing..in an odd way. Speak with veterans about what the enemy vehicles looked like, or what the combat procedure was, or who was first up the ravine..and damned if they can remember any of that. However, they will always remember the feelings of fear, loneliness..disgust and desperation. These are the things that get imprinted on your soul. Malick got it right.

  • I hear a foghorn...BORING!!!!

  • A good movie maybe, but from a historical perspective: a piece of CRAP

  • @larserikgill Well good thing this is a movie and not a history textbook huh?

  • @BloodySerpent

    yes i it is

  • Jim is not afraid to die in the end of the movie. You see it in his eyes.

  • JiM CavieZeL'S CarEeR DieD in 2004. Do u agree with me @KGBfbiSECUpolitia???

  • You guys MUST read the book! Welsh is so MUCH more badass of a Seargent although I'm on page 81 and still Witt's character hasn't been introduced but I know it will be very intereting when the two meet!

  • Every film he's done after this is like a post-Malick anti-climax. And that's not me trying to be negative towards Jim's acting, it's just that he was really made for the role of Pvt. Witt. Up until now, it really is the role of his career.

The Thin Red Line is one of those films that I have to physically/mentally/spiritually prepare myself for before watching, because it's so overwhelming to experience and observe with the mind wide open.

  • 'The Thin Red Line' will be released on blu-ray by Criterion Collection in September 2010 in North America. I believe this featurette will be included in the extras.

  • damn he hot

  • this is not a war movie but a human drama placed in war environment. my favorite, this is deeply powerful movie with deeply powerful message.

  • Tied with Apocalypse Now for "Best War Movie" in my book....and deadlocked. Gets my fucking goat how people can even conceive of Saving Private Ryan competing with this movie.

To the point where....if you think SPR is better, you are a dumb sack of shit. There, I said it.

  • @Eldeecue well that´s not respectless at all......

  • @picasso94

Everyone's entitled to their opinion of course!

They're....just not entitled to be right. : )

  • @Eldeecue lol, whatever,

  • @Eldeecue well then if you think people are stupid for liking somethingelse then you are a dumb sack of shit...

  • @Eldeecue

    SPR is better.

  • Come and join my "Petition for The Thin Red Line Director's Cut by Terrence Malick" Facebook group. :) Thx.

  • @Vajta06 why do you think that the movie released is not the director's cut?

  • Because Malick wanted to make much longer movie, but the producers said to him to cut it to 160 mins, 'cause of theatrical release.

  • 0:33 I just caN't believe how SEXi Mr. Caviezel' voice is. In SHITbritain on1 Player theDvD works,UNlike the other, his voice doesN't sound this SEXy but he's almost "like" BRITshit davidBeckham. BTW I'm so glad the TYPICALenglish YOBs/2FACEd "UKmodels" R replaced by Italian/LATINo ARMANI (him 4 SEXi LATINo Ronaldo, her for SEXy AMERICAn MeganFOX).Who wants englishFAKEs? Just coZ the white english buy a lot of ITALIAN(French) fashion trying2look LATINo/MEDITERRANEAN,it doesN't have2b"their"ADs

  • The Sean Penn- Jim Caviezel scenes on the hillside and in the ruined house are two of my favourite scenes in any film.

  • Same here, two of my favourite scenes .. especially the house scene, great dialogue and camera work in tht scene.

  • I agree that scene is a big'un

  • This is the best war movie i've ever seen. A million times better than the book.

  • Best war movie ever!

  • 1:35 yes thePast can/will influence theFuture.

Poor James, he was warned by Sean Penn to be careful not to die (in theMovie). I myself had been warned ab. english "ppl"=PIGs & england=HELLonEarth , but didN't listen. Now I'm dying as well , being neglected (& about to be Butchered) By the english National "HEALTH" Service. I canNOT expect Jesus to care about me anymore. • Oh stop yer whining! We appreciate the vets!

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE!

  • I agree!!! 100%

  • amazing movie!

  • oh God he was so young even his voice is different

  • Caviezel, like his character, lives somewhere in another realm, in a place that follows the lead of the eternal. He's an inspiration to me and I'm glad to have met him finally.

  • Where is this from? and can you post the whole thing?

  • This 20 min featurette was on select UK PAL VHS tapes of "The Thin Red Line".

  • auto: This is from the movie, "The Thin Red Line," starring Jim, Sean Penn, Matthew Brodie, Nick Nolte, Clooney, Haroldson and others...made in 1999. It garnered 7 Oscar nominations and was hailed as extraordinary, the best contemporary War movie thus far. The story is taken from a novel. Jim seemed to play the main role in the movie. He was great!

Walmart is selling DVDs @ 2 X $10.00 and I just bought this movie several days ago and watched it today for the first time. I love Jim Caviezel.
