  • I find this very, very easy to masturbate to.

  • atmosphere

  • incredible atmosohere

  • simply beautiful. Is it difficult to mod? I did a bit with Oblivion but that was just adding items and more spells. I never tried mods that deal with perfecting the graphics...

Looking at this, makes me want to install Morrowind just to have a look... its been a while

  • @LunaTorki Google Morrowind Sound and Graphics Overhaul, there is a "pretty much" self installer of 90 percent of the mods I use. It can get you VERY close to the same settings you see in my videos, and it takes very little effort on your part. Its an amazing compilation. Here is a link morrowindoverhaul(dot)rpgitalia(dot)net

  • @Helltech Where did you get you're sound mod? I have the MGSO but I dont have those sounds near vivec.

  • @Koloss477 Ahh yes, for some reason MGSO doesn't use ASE which is my favorite sound mod. In fact for being called "Morrowind Graphics and SOUND Overhaul" it doesn't use very many sound mods. Anyway its called ASE, or Atmospheric Sound Effects. Its on Planet Elder Scrolls and it was created by the author Duncan, ill shoot you a message with the link.

  • Morrowind! Oblivion! SKYRIM! Most epic games ever! Thank you Bethesda!!

  • I still don't get it guys... Oblivion was how I met the serie and while I do agree that some stuff is bad, you guys have to realize that we don't play Oblivion for Oblivion. We play Oblivion for the humongous amount of cool/funny/interesting mods...

  • @ElfenSky now that Skyrim is out i expect the Obilvion modding scene to die. Skyrim will be what all the people want to mod, and Morrowind will be for the people who has stuck by the series. not only that but i dont agree with modding the game to change the gameplay of the game. honestly oblivion is unplayable without gameplay changing mods in my opinion and that isnt right. with just graphical mods morrowind is STILL freaking amazing. but oblivion needs gameplay mods to be good...fail

  • @TheCheckitout22 I admit, Morrowind is awsome without mod, and with mods it looks better than Skyrim. Oblivion's gameplay is real crap without mods and there's nothing impressive graphicly. Skyrim's just even easier and console adapted.

  • Hmm, even though it's modded, it's REALLY pretty for such an old (but still awesome) game :D

  • @ElfenSky This video doesn't even begin to show it. There are other videos out there that look much more spectacular. I booted this up the other day after playing Skyrim for a month and somethings (mainly lighting, and water) look better in this than Skyrim.

  • Skyrim #1, Morrowind #2, Oblivion #3, Daggerfall #2, and Arena #1 (never played, not much of a retro gamer, Morrowind was first of series for me)

  • chronologically for me: Morrowind - Daggerfall - Oblivion - Skyrim (never got Arena to work, pc system too up to date)

in terms of quality: Morrowind - Daggerfall - Skyrim - Oblivion

  • for me it's morrowind>skyrim( it would've been first if it ended MORE epicly )>oblivion

  • omfg, just as i remember morrowind from when i was a kid. Can't wait to install tomorow morroblivion.

I used to play morrowind, but then i got a Skyrim to the pc

  • Daggerfall>Morrowind>Skyrim>Arena>Oblivion. :)

  • @dannycaller Pretty freakin' close. Mines Morrowind > Daggerfall > Skyrim > Arena > Oblivion. Daggerfall was great, I think I'm impartial to Morrowind since it was the first of the series for me.

  • @Helltech I'm the same. I'm just talkin' vanilla, though. Morrowind definatly comes #1 where mods are involved. Oblivion is still down there as no number of mods have ever let me enjoy it, really.

  • @Helltech Meh, I like Skyrim>Morrowind>Daggerfall>Arena>Oblivion.

  • @10DegreesBelow As long as Oblivion is last your opinion is valid :), LOL

  • @Helltech What do you guys dislike so much about Oblivion? I'm just curious as I've never really played Morrowind.

  • @mainmenu895 Just about everything. Looking back on it now I honestly can't think of anything in that game I like that something else in the series didn't do better. Its story sucked, combat sucked, enemy leveling sucked, voice acting, quests, graphics, uncanny valley... yeah

  • @Helltech Now I think you're just being hard on the game. Take someone who never played a TES game, they'll probably enjoy Oblivion much more and find it easier to get into than Morrowind. I tried Morrowind myself and couldn't find the boredom to stick to it. I think the thing that made me quit was the lack of a physics engine. Everything seems so stuck...

  • @dannycaller

I would put Morrowind first and Skyrim dead last.

  • @Recrofne Worse then Oblivion? I'm not gunna argue, everyone's opinion and all, but why do you like Oblivion more then Skyrim? Just curious.

  • Really like the tree mod on this one - I'm still using Vality's ascadian idles, maybe I'll update.

  • @Thunderwolf666 Yup these are my favorite also. They are Bob's Leaf Re-Texture.

  • @Helltech Already downloaded and installed. I've also been using connary's textures for a long time, but to the best of my knowledge he never retextured solthsheim. Do you know of any good bloodmoon retextures? I understand "good" is subjective here, but something matching the quality of connary's?

  • @Thunderwolf666 Grand Solstheim by Lazy isn't too shabby, and of course Vurt's Tree Replacer.

  • @Thunderwolf666 I never really got on with any of Vurt's tree replaces. They just felt too... I don't know. They just didn't feel RIGHT. Really can't put my finger on why.

  • @Thunderwolf666 I think its because Vvardenfell should feel less lush.

  • Be awesome if they remade this game with Remastered graphics and combat engine. Add a fast travel feature and make the world bigger and it would be amazing.

  • @TheOtherIan77 Everything except fast travel. Lol

  • @Helltech Whats wrong with fast travel?

  • @tastycookiechip Takes away from the point of having a beautiful world in my opinion. And its more then just "well if you don't like it don't use it" because the game is designed with using it in mind, so its kind of forced on you unless you want to spend ages playing the game and get bored. I prefer it in Morrowind were there was semi-fast travel. Regardless of that Oblivion wasn't the first TES game to use fast travel, so I can't knock it too hard. Just prefer Morrowind's style myself.

  • @tastycookiechip Buuuut, even with all that said since it would be the same exact game (no quest changes or gameplay changes) I guess you could just opt out of using the fast travel since unlike Oblivion and Skyrim the fast travel wouldn't be necessary. So it wouldn't be a bad addition.

  • @TheOtherIan77 Nope, the combat engine is better in Morrowind than any other elder Scrolls game. I want my CHARACTER'S skills to influence how well they do in combat, NOT my skills as a player. If my character has long blade 10, I want him to be dropping his sword and missing everything he swings at. Combat was the worst thing about Oblivion and Skyrim. turned them into little more than FPSes with swords.

  • @Thunderwolf666 Aye, but in this day and age, it would be silly to fire an arrow at point blank range at some guy and miss him completely due to failing an imaginary dice roll. Besides, with a relatively high skill, you ended up hitting your target all the time anyway. Morrowind's target system was complained about quite a lot at the time, due to this and the misaligned hitboxes. The grass is always greener on the other side, eh?

  • @crashnburner187 I'd be perfectly fine with the combat system in Skyrim and Oblivion if the skills weren't mixed together. In real life it takes a different skill set to wield dagger than to wield a sword, axe, or a mace. They are all completely different. It shouldn't be jumbled together in one handed, and two handed.

  • @TheCheckitout22 But in the actual game, the combat animations were pretty much the same anyway for 1 handed and 2 handed weapons. Also, don't you think it would be weird for a character to be amazing with a longsword and be utterly crap with a shortsword or a war axe?

  • @crashnburner187 Not at all, its more realistic then having it all lumped together. my friend who has been into martial arts for twenty years does a lot of weapon training and says there is complete difference in how you wield weapons. sure if your amazing with a long sword you probably wouldnt be HORRIBLE with a dagger, but that doesnt mean you would be amazing with it either. the way morrowind had it was MUCH better.

  • @TheCheckitout22 Yeah, but Oblivion and Skyrim were made with casuals in mind, so the realistic stuff that some felt added depth was dumped in favour of people that felt that they were overcomplicated and/or annoying. Lumping them together may not be realistic, but I like how they've taken liberties in order to make it more acessible. It took me a few internet guides before I really understood Morrowind, but in Oblivion and Skyrim, I could get into it quickly and easily.

  • @crashnburner187 Which is EXACTLY the problem I have with it. Like if Beethoven had started making pop music, Replacing the string ensembles with just a guy on a violin (Hey, violas, violins and cellos all sounds the same, right?), to make it more "accessible". It might make the music more popular, but it certainly wouldn't make it BETTER. I like rich complexity and depth that requires me to think rather than button bash. That is why I prefer Morrowind.

  • @crashnburner187 The complexity is what a lot of the hardcore TES fans (people who played Arena and Daggerfall) like, and I'm not saying they are right or wrong, I fall in this category but its all opinion, the hardcore TES fans who have been with the series longer then most enjoy the more dungeons and dungeons RPG feel, rather than an action adventure game. Not saying Skryim isnt an RPG just less of one than Morrowind. Daggerfall had 35 skills, Skryim had 18. :(

  • @TheCheckitout22 I agree; Oblivion sort of had it, but Skyrim went the extra mile and made no sense at all (Two handed for me felt like Big Guns in Fallout 3).

  • Amazing work. That's the Morrowind I remember...

  • I just came

  • If someone told me this was oblivion I wouldn't think twice.

  • If there's one thing I can fault about the graphics extender, it's that it illustrates that the game world isn't REALLY that huge. Turn right on the docks in Seyda Neen, and you can see Vivec in the distance.

Pros definitely outweigh the cons, though. One time camped out on a hill in the Grazelands w/ Red Mountain and the Ghostfence in the background. Was absolutely glorious <3

  • @wooddabers Agreed, if there is one thing that you realize about Morrowind with MGE it's that the world is small.

  • @Helltech

if you played Daggerfall you dont need the graphics extender to realize that.

  • @rogerpenna I did play Daggerfall and Arena. :) Havn't got around to Battlespire or Redgaurd though.

  • @Helltech

so, the fact that you can walk from one city to the other in a few minutes, is already an indicative the gameworld is small. And so is in Oblivion and Skyrim. Come on... the Imperial City in Oblivion is a village compared to most cities in daggerfall.

  • @rogerpenna

To be honest I always viewed them as all being historically accurate. A huge city in the ancient world had much the same population. The world only recently became very populated because of all the convenience. In the old cities and villages. There really were very few people in them.

Plus. If anyone wants to expand the game world. They can be directed to the Tamriel Rebuilt fan made expansions. It basically adds all of Morrowind Plus the islands =D

  • @WildBuck007 accurate? Rome had over 1 million people. The Imperial City from Oblivion has no more than 150 people.

  • @rogerpenna

Ancient ancient. Rome is relatively new. Like Bronze age ancient.

  • @Helltech

Red and battle suck monkey spunk. Trust me. I have both. But only because I got them free and even then. It was just a waste of time.

  • @Helltech dont worry, battlespire and redguard both suck trust me

  • Do you have to reduce some settings like distance to keep the frame rate up?

  • @GophersVids You can check my channel for the MGE settings I use.

  • WOOo that's what mine looks like! Which shaders u running in MGE? I have DX9 HLSL HDR 2, sunshaft_v002a and trueBloom_g6_i6. Can u recommened any others? thanks!

  • @ViralZen Naw, you're pretty much set. Its not in this video but I use Depth of Field now, its amazing.

  • @Helltech Thanks for the quick reply! I just applied depth of field and it's really good! Thanks once again!

  • Its not working with my morrowind!:(

  • @EliRockn Which mod isn't working?

  • @Helltech

Hey man i just got this game and I have a super high end gaming computer, and Its normal for me to experience screen tearing but that is usually solved by enabling Vsync, but Morrowind doesnt have it. Any suggestions?

  • @MOHtier1FTW There a lot of options to limit frame cap in Morrowind. There is the FPS Optimizer made for Morrowind, you can find that and try it out. Or you can use a program called SSAA_Tool, I use this for about every game (sans Morrowind, haha I can barely get constant 15 FPS). It's really nice, if you need help finding or using either one of those let me know.

  • I like how this mod does not destroy the atmosphere of Morrowind, it actually adds more.

  • The detail parts in morrowind where alot more interesting and well made compared to oblivion. Where you couldnt pickup every single detail you founded out in the wildness.

The NPC in morrowind was boring tough.. The NPC in oblivion was great.

  • @henkarars I actually really like the NPCs in Morrowind, I didn't find them dull, but then again I don't mind actually reading the dialogue they give. The NPcs in Oblivion were good, but I found them more boring. The same voice actor was used for most of them, and thus most sound the same, not to mention I found the uncanny valley in Oblivion awful and even mods can't repair it. I still understand where you are coming from :)

  • @Helltech Your right. The voiceacting was much more better in Morrowind. The dark-elfs and the cute wood-elfs, all of their own themes in voice acting. The problem in oblivion was that they pitched up some voices to ''kinder'' and they putted the same voice as the Nord race to the Orc (wtf?...) and the dark elf females sounds like a new york fashion modellist guy with a wierd brittish accent. The quest was better, and the dialogue (storys) from strangers.

  • @henkarars Agreed, the only thing I can say that makes sense is maybe Vvardenfell is more cultural, where as Cyrodiil is more blended together. Thus in Vvardenfell you had a larger distinction between races than in Cyrodiil, it fits the lore, granted I still thought everything sounded the same kind of ruined a lot of the immersion for me. Let's see what Skyrim has to offer. :)

  • they should have just released a reskinned version of morrowind instead of oblivion lol...

  • @Icix1 It would be amazing if they re-released a DX11 Morrowind with no gameplay changed other than bugs.

  • @Helltech

Absolutely. In my opinion there is no game that they could make that could compare to Morrowind. It is without rivals.

  • i cant open the speedyshare link to the sun rays. Does anyone know another site wich have the sunshaft_v002a shader? (because i cant find any:/)

  • @TheMourningPalace Google "sunshaft_v002a", the second link works.

  • how did u get the sun rays? i cant find them on the link u gave us.

  • @TheMourningPalace They are in the link that was given, just not directly stated. I havn't messed with Morrowind mods for a while, kinda got it where I want it, but I do believe the "God Rays" come from the "sunshaft_v002a" shader. :)

  • Wow.. sweet sound what sound mod do u use? pls tell me1 :D

  • @dieObamas In the description.

  • Hey what shaders are you using? and what texture pack?

  • @FaulconMusic In the description.

  • @Helltech ok i have a problem where my sun flashes whenever i look at it ):

  • @FaulconMusic Hmm not sure what to tell ya bud, could be your graphics card doesn't play nicely with the mods, seen it happen before with a friend's game.

  • woooow... what is this crysis 3??? :D

  • Is there a FOG mod? I always played Morrowind with low range of site, so it would be amazing if someone more intelligent than I am to make a fog mod.

  • @qwertyb18 You mean a high ammount of fog so you cant see far? That is by default. The long draw distance in this video is a mod.

  • @SuperKindle I play the game with MGE, but Morrowind is "supposed" to be a foggy muddy province, so it would be nice to have realistic fog, if you know what I mean.

  • @qwertyb18 You can make it "foggy" with MGE by reducing the draw distance. Unless you are talking about like a foggy weather effect, like fog you can walk through. That would be pretty sweet, don't think its possible in the Morrowind engine however. :(

  • @Helltech Yeah, I meant foggy weather effects. Like the draw distance would determine not only how far you can see, but how far the weather/realistic fog would allow. That would be awesome!

  • Simply beautiful, it's such a shame Vvardenfell was destroyed in the beginning of the third era. Hope it becomes inhabitable again for a future release. :x

  • Man, there sure are a lot of loud, obnoxious birds hanging around Vivec.

  • Dang that looks incredible! Imagine what skyrim will look like when people start creating graphics extenders for it! (Would probably need a nuclear powered graphics card for it though lol)

  • Thumbs up for best compliment ever? I think so! :D Yeah-ahah! Anyone?? :) Huh??... :) No?... '-'

Alright, i didn't want your thumbs up anyway. :(

  • This water matches Crysis water lol.

  • If only there was a -full- spoken dialogue mod, then I would so play this game. >.<

  • @Hionimi I actual prefer the text based dialogue. Reminds me of the good ol' RPG days.

  • @Helltech Aye, I can imagine you'd like the nostalgia about it. I myself though haven't grown up with text RPGs and I'm a very lazy reader. :x

  • @Hionimi ACTUALLY THIS GAME IS SO GOOD THAT U CAN PLAY EVEN AS ORIGINAL, NON MODDED

i play morrowind as original + all patches and i simply love it.

ofc if u care about graphics, thats no problem.... but i love the original game

  • @Hionimi If that's the only reason you won't play it, then you sir, are missing out on one of the best games ever made.

  • @inveretus Yes, I'm well aware of that, I own a copy, perhaps I should give it try and stop being read-lazy. o.o Though, there used to be a project in which a team was trying to create dialogues for the whole game, but I think it got cancelled...

  • @Hionimi Yeah, that rings a bell from a while ago. Just way too much dialogue to script I guess for someone to do in their spare time.

  • graphics are nothing short of fantastic. much better looking than oblivion now haha

  • Pretty!

  • I was about to ask where this was. (Thinking it was recorded somewhere on Earth) XD

  • @ZomLizProductions best...compliment...ever.

  • Hey, man. I'm having some issues with the trueBloom shader, and the good folks over at the bethesda MGE forums, though they're generally very helpful god bless 'em, are taking days to respond, so I thought I'd share it with you and see if you could be bothered to give me some advice. Here's what trueBloom does to my loading screens (i.e. any time I rest/sleep/wait or load an exterior or interior): youtube.com/watch?v=nXTVtggREL4

    Another: youtube.com/watch?v=BaloTCJxvT4

  • I am going to do a Morrowind nostalgia playthrough :D

I din't know about modding when i 1st played morrowind. That changed after oblivion and fallout though.

Long story short.........Can you please list the Mods You Usedfor the gfx improvments.

    Thank you.

  • @phoenix1746 Its in the descrption.

  • Forget the graphics, the sound is amazing! I could fall asleep to the sound of those birds.

  • looks so awesome, i wanna go there and stay forever

  • Helltech, that system IS spectacular -_-.

  • @HaploTR Haha yeah its pretty goo, but Morrowind doesn't utilize it much, so as far as Morrowind. The amount of RAM is pretty much null, and the fact I have SLI hurts as opposed to one single amazing GPU. It just becuase Morrowind is getting old and dated, it isn't coded and optimized that way.

  • Is amazing, the graphics are too good. It look so real.

  • wow!!!

  • and i thought normal morrowind was sexy... this is unbelievable

  • I've been watching Elders Scrolls videos since the announcement of skyrim i'm so pumped :D

  • @MrRoflStomp3r I was wondering why the heck my little video was gettin' a lot of views lately, derrr. Haha.

  • @Helltech

Yeah, I never played any of the Elder Scrolls games, but I played FO3 and everyone says it shares similarities. I don't know which one to start with, Morrowind, Oblivion, or something earlier? idk

  • @Doublicon I would start with Arena, the lore is so immersive in all the games. Playing them all and watching the series progress is fantastic.

  • How'd you get the god rays?

  • @Shodex4 sunshaft_v002a shader.

  • @Helltech Alright, thanks. I like the way you didn't over do the shaders like so many others did with HDR and such. It looks nice, and still looks like Morrowind. What are your system specs?

  • @Shodex4 If you can't find a link to that shader let me know and I'll send you a message. And my system is nothing spectacular.

    i7 920 @ 3.8Ghz, GTX 260 x2 in SLI, 12 GB of DDR3 ram.

  • @Helltech Pfft, yeah. I had one of those back in '98. ;P

  • @Shodex4 Haha, well its not much today's standards. I'm sure Morrowind doesn't even take SLI into account very much, I'd much rather have a single GTX 570 or GTX 580 than SLI 260s.

  • Wow neverseen morrowind so beatiful like this :-)

  • @herGot You should look around, my Morrowind is sub-par compared to most, thanks though :D

  • MODS ARE AWESOME

  • what mod did you use to make the trees look so good, if you dont mind me asking :)

  • @HalfLifeHalfDead Bob's Leaf Retexture for Vality's Ascadian Isles Mod

  • what water mod did you use?

  • @AaronPr19 No Water Mod, thats all from shaders in MGE.

  • Which version of MGE are you using in this video?

  • @thehumanperson The properties tab of the .exe says 3.8.0.118, I havn't updated since then.

  • Looks amazing. I feel inspired to mod Morrowind and replay it.

  • CRYSIS WATER

  • @doggod106 Honestly, even by todays standards I think how the water is done with mods is the most beautiful water in any game I've seen. It is all about the shaders.

  • @OldBatBalls Turn the AI settings down a bit, that helps me a lot. Also make sure you don't go overboard creating distant textures with MGE, that is a big no-no.

  • @Helltech haha, true that.

i have spent a few hours, and MGE is working, but my game looks nothing like that.

do i have to put the shaders in a certain order?

  • @beyondthelol Yes you do. I think my page says what order my shaders in? Maybe I can't remember, I know it does some where in these comments.

    Mine goes in this order...

    trueBloom_g5e

    sunshaft_v002a

    knx_SSAO_v09

  • youve done what everyone wanted...put oblivions graphics with morrowinds storyline+game play...gratz :)

  • i..want..my...game..like...that

  • @beyondthelol Follow the link in my description, with a couple hours of work you can have it. =P

  • what's your pc specs?

  • @fireborn10 Nothing too spectaluar (by todays standards).

    i7 920 @ 3.6, 12GB of DDR3 Ram, GTX 260 in SLI. Everything else is unimportant really.

  • He didn't show the character models :(

  • @SPASLORD They are not fantastic, but you can see them in my other videos.

  • Love the music!

  • I can't seem to get HDR to work in morrowind... is there some secret i am not aware of?...

  • @TearsOfWar1 Not all video cards are capable of it.

  • best game ever just became better

  • separately

  • Nvm. I'm going to download them seperately from the link you provided. Thanks for compiling them... I'm on mobile broadband so this will take ages though. :(

  • Is there any way you can package all the mods you use into a single torrent or downloadable file? I would really appreciate it.

  • @keikuru1 I could, but it would be a big hassle, I guess I could put them all in their own folders though, I might work on that sometime.

  • poopoo

  • Damn just realized it was in the desciption....

  • The sun and water is what i find most impressive here.. what mods?!

  • VERY NICE 2WATER

  • what mods have you used?

  • @Caboose565 In the description :D

  • OMG search oblivion extreme graphics

  • AHAHA! I love it! Even put up a site!! Do you have like, awesome mods for new races, cool things to "just have" on morrowind, or no? :D

  • YOU MY FRIEND, ARE #1!!! PERIOD!!! .
