Not much of a change. The club gets to upright on the backswing and then comes down very steep. If you want to round out your swing, sweep the club a little more inside and try to have it a little laid off at the top. This should fix the over the top move.
your problem seems to be swing over the top. im no pro but you are taking it inside which is not good, see how when half way through your backswing your clubhead is behind you? that causes inconsistency, try taking it ouside then at the top drop your hands to the inside swing path. your finish also has problems your head is moving all over the place and you lifted out of the swing. most of this can be fixed by just practicing and slowing things down. not a bad swing though. good luck.
Your swing is nice! I think you need to lower your swing plane on your back swing. When you bring the club back make sure you are not bringing the club up to high. Lower your swing plane a little bit then you will be better
i ahve never played golf before but been in my mama's tummy she was preggy with me while she was palying golf here in Baguio Camp John Hay God bless u
yeah youre def coming over the top, also, hit a golf ball when you swing cause it will help. and always remember to get the trajectory of the shot more to the right almost like a slice and youre doing it right
It is amazing what an inside out swing done for me. The assistant super intendent at the course I work out, told me the basics of an inside out, and the ball is going much farther, and much straighter.
dude...anyone can look good when THERE IS NO BALL TO HIT!!!!! don't EVER EVER EVER practice your golf swing without ACTUALLY HITTING A GOLF BALL!!!! for all you know, you could be creating a very bad habit that will only manifest itself on a course.
nice swing, one thing you could work on is when you are "at the top" you want to be a little flatter. I think that would promote a more "inside" downswing.
ok, cgasucks, apparently u dont care about improving ur game, b/c like half of the trainers i go 2 have me practice with out using golf balls....next time, think about what you're saying
I don't judge swings because it doesn't really matter to me. Do you know any of Dave Pelz's stuff? That is what has really helped me. If I had to judge the game of a golfer I would just judge the short game. Glad you put your video on youtube though.
you have a very nice swing. it looks to me like you have a fade swing judging by your swing plane. is that your normal ball flight? i recently switched from a draw to a fade and i like the fade better because i'm able to get more height with it and control my spin better. if that's what you feel comfortable doing then keep at it.
looks like your a lil bit quick at the top of the swing...its not very smooth...also your clubface is closed at the takeaway if you could point the toe up about halfway back youd be a lot more consistant...maybe do a practice move a lot like mike weirs that would help you out a lot
what do you mean they are just practice swings, "chill"? U are a moron..you want us to analyze the swing that you make without a ball? r u stupid? Do you want to hit the ball better or have a more technically sound move when you don't hit a ball? cuz the two swings ARE going to be completely different. You should ONLY analyze swings where u actually hit the ball, the goal is to learn to hit the ball better not have good looking "practice swings"
It's just a video, I wasn't initially looking for help. I just thought since there are a million swings on YouTube, I thought I'd put mine up and what I was doing. You didn't have to call me a moron and stupid, uncalled for because I don't know you and u don't know me.
Read Dr Bob Rotellas book, "golf is not a game of perfect" U swing ok, concentrate on ur game 120 yards in, including putting. Also, never ever think swing mechanics when on the course, just relax, look at the target, and hit. You can send me money when u win the Masters!
I am sure he hits it 290, it´s a decent swing, but I suffer with the same problem to get the swing plane right in a practice swing and have problems with making it again by hitting a ball. If you ever fix it, let me know how.
I've done some good work since that last shot was takin' way back in November of last year. I've been working on taking the club back more from the inside, while keeping the hands below my clubface. This will help me get a good extention and keep me on plane. The divots are starting to point more in the direction of the intended target...
Yeah...you should tape your swings with ones that hit the ball....those are the ones that count...you're just fooling yourself with those practice swings...
You're still fooling yourself...I taped my own swings..both practice and one with hitting the ball and there's slight differences...there's more flaws in my real swing than in my practice swing...practice or no practice..either way your swing is nice...
dogg u cant put up videos of yourself swinging w/o a ball. A practice swing and a swing where u actually hit a ball are gonna be completely different. work on that.
I agree with the last comment that the odd thing I would be picky about your swing is your head movement during the downswing, it's also probably why your old swing was more upright, I'm sure this is an old habit of yours that you never realized till now...solid swing overall~
You call one planers ugly! Every tournament Chad Cambell plays in, there are numerous tour players watching him hit the ball. Focus on trunk rotation rather than the hip slide/turn and this will prevent the over the top move. Combining the one plane backswing and the two plane downswing is death!!!
for one thing i wouldnt take advice from people online. go take a lesson from a pga professional. second, its really not possible to truely diagnose the swing without an angle facing you, to see setup, weight shift, etc.
It's more consistent and more powerful. It's just an easier swing to follow if there is just one plane involved. More rounded than upright is what I wanted and I'm hitting it better and further...
you look like you are gettin a reverse pivot in the last one. Also, you are sticking you butt out as you swing...try to keep it in the relatively same position
hiya mate,i am a teaching golf professional. next time your practasin put a golf ball behind your club face at address push that back in a straight line then lift club when you have achieved this.stay on plain dont get a rounded golf swing.if you want more help please dont hesitate to contact me,
I think it's because you try to force your head to stay still. The head should be allowed to turn AND shift slightly to the right through the backswing. You should also make sure that your chin touches the left shoulder at the top; this will make sure that you have a full shoulder turn and help you to not lose height. Watch a clip of a Tour player on Youtube and look out for these two things, I think you will find them to be true. Cheers.
Just a humble suggestion: Do you notice how your head moves considerably forward and dips a little on the back swing? On the video, put the mouse on your nose at address, and then you will see that at the top of the backswing, the mouse is now on your cheek. I have a fews tips to fix that if you are interested. Cheers.
8.5 degree is pretty low. have you tried using higher lofts for more launch angle?. your swing is looking pretty good. remember to use some clubs on the ground for alignment when practising.
OK, I'm not sure what u mean by "straighten your backswing." I'm a 2 handicap and I hit the driver about 290 yards. It's not my yardage that gets me, it's my alignment and direction (hard to tell in these videos if I'm ailgned correctly). Thanks for the post.
When I put up the post I tried to explain it but found that it took up to much space. I got back from a round at a virtual golf place since I can't play all year round because I live in in a northern city in Ontario, Canada. I wanted to ask what your club set up. I use a 905T Titleist driver, a Titleist 7 wood, 680MB Titleist irons, Taylormade RAC sandwedge, Taylormade Rossa blade putter, and Titleist ProV1x. Please post a reply and thanks for responding.
There is no way you hit it 290,yourhands never fully cock in anypart of you swing and the little angle you have isn't held for very long, your swing is too short for someone of your build too hit it that far, and you severely come over the top. I bet you can't hit it past 260 withought 20 or 30 yrds of rll or seriouse wind srry if this sounds like a slam but its true
JB Holmes has a short swing and he hits it miles. You don't know me...I hit it anywhere between 275 and 300. My swing is shorter in the middle clip, but not the last clip. Like it says, golf CHANGE. Hey, you're right that I can hit it 260...with my 3 wood.
Man I consider myself a fairly good golfer just from the standpoint that I'm 14 and have a 6 handicap. If you could straighten your backswing you could probally add 15 yards. put up a post to respond to my suggestion.
I like the tigeresque finish position!
