true aldo hasn't fought elite fighters, perhaps his biggest test was florian. but who has chad fought, nobody. he has gone to decisions in his last 4 fights against weak competition. He is like faber but a bit weaker. The only thing that Aldo lacks and could cost him the title is his condition, but he will out strike chad. If he goes to the ground he will be in trouble. Aldo needs to start taking care of his diet because he always has to come down 15-20 pounds every fight which isnt good

There's potential for him to stand with Aldo as well as go to the ground... not saying he'd beat Aldo in a stand up battle, but he's got the potential to keep it up long enough for an opening to get it to the ground at least where it'll be a more favorable fight for him. Jose Aldo is my absolute favorite fighter and I'll root for him any day, but this is probably as close to an even match we'll ever see him in.

@theguybelowmefarted Not necessarily in the way Jon Fitch does if that's what you're asking... if it does go to the ground, it'd still be an interesting fight because both fighters are about equal size and skill as far as the ground game goes, and Chad Mendes may even have a slight advantage there. Standing, it's Aldo's fight. Grappling, Chad's fight, but still not necessarily a "Fitch" fight.
