  • What kind of flat iron do you use?

  • Hey! Just wanting to know whats your review on the tresemme heat protectant spray? Does it leaves your hair stringy and greasy?

  • 5 dollars at sallys with member club

  • your hair is so beautiful! ♥

  • girlll u got some nicee hurr wanna give me some lol

  • Where can I find that flat iron? It looks like it works really well

  • I got this one to I bought this is Sally

  • Where can i buy this?

  • I know that you did this video more than a year ago but do you remember what temperature the straightener was on?

    just curious.

  • just got this product today. haven't used it yet but im excited after seeing this :) great video!

  • wat flat iron r u usesin!!!!???????????????????

  • i like this heat protectant but i dont like how it leaves my hair really greasy bt i only use a little bit

  • then again. i wouldnt hate to have your hair.

if i had your hair i'd just rock the curls!

  • daaaaamn, i would hate to have your hair.

not harassing but it consumes so much of time and product!

i got weird wavy hair and i just spray some protectant, and wherever i dont like my random wave, i just waffle it up... you gotta do the whole scalp precicely!

you got some devotion and patience lady! props.

  • i really love this i would get it if you havent already tried it

  • do you have to blow dry? its lovely

  • it looks like that makes your hair greasy. i just ordered some but my hair is a differenttexture than yours. almost straight but dry

  • Very nice! I made the mistake of using 'Biolage Thermal Active Setting Spray' just this weeked -- was so bummed! I'd waited almost 2 months for my little flat iron treat & ugh, helmet head! it doesn't feel bad, but it just doesn't hang right. Even tho this stuff is a heat protectant it acts almost like a hairspray too... so.... bun-- a silky straight bun-- but yes, bun.... lol when I revisit the flat iron again in July-ish, I'll def try this!

  • I'm so excited to try this product

  • u should try chi 44 protectant spray it works realy good too

  • @KINGBOO55 The 44 iron guard has alcohol in it and it made my hair really sticky and stiff. I personally would recommend the serum instead it works SOO much better. The Chi Silk Infusion. :)

  • Wow beautiful results girlie!!!! I use the mega silk as well but I only blowdry my roots. BTW, has anyone ever told you that you look like Ashanti mixed with a little Raven Symone lol???? Be blessed love!

  • Great video! :D You did a great job. I'm hoping that I can some heat protection so I can straighten my hair because my hair is just so untameable.

  • Whatever your hair type, nobody NEEDS TO get a perm. It's just a question of technique and accepting kinky doesn't mean unmanageable and ugly. Also, being mixed does not justify having long er hair than a fully black person. Length retention (so length) is related to good hair habits, good technique and suitable products.

  • I just recently discovered this product, thanks to my wonderful sister-n-law. I LOVE it. Your hair turned out very pretty too.

  • wow i love ur videoss!

  • ur hair is jus like mine wow!..

  • I luv "MegaSilk" Too My Hair looks amazing ^^!!

  • I can't use it on my hair....my hair is not relaxed. I'm looking for heat protectant for natural kinky hair.

  • @shella2bell Her hair is natural... So is mine and this is the heat protectant my beautician even reccomended.

  • DeeShaLatoya .... Not all natural hair...I'm talking "TYPE 4" natural African American ( Afro) kinky hair type...I believe there's WATER ingredient in this product that my hair can't take, but will make my hair only kinkier.

  • you look very pretty without make up

  • *running to Sally's immediately*

  • I did run to Sally's and got this. It's fantastic. Thank you for doing this video LOL

  • Yes i love silk element is very good!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks. i just had the bkt done and i've been looking and trying different things now that i have to straighten it. of all of my research this seems to be the best. do you know anything about the glossing polish from the same company?

  • @lipstickchick83 I just want to tell you that on the reviews on Sally Beauty, the reviews for Proclaim glosser was much more favorable than this brand however, this brand was favorited when it came to spray.

  • I'm a man so I don't know much about female hair, but I do know that your are beautiful and it was a pleasure watching you make yourself look even better.

  • Thanks . That was so sweet of you to say :-).

  • Girl, why the fuzz?! You looked so much better before!

  • i am sooooo trying this! i just bought it but i havent tried it out yet!

  • Has Anyone used the FHI Heat Hot Sauce and if so is it better or worse than SE Mega Silk Olive Oil Heat Protective Spray

  • Thats the best stuff I ever used. Its just right in texture, its light and moisturizing. But its not greasy. I lovvvvveeees it. Good choice. I am about to run out..

  • Hey DP went to Sally's to buy this product after watchin ur video (and a few others) and gues what...it was on sale!!!! Thanks for the recommendation. Hope it works for me

  • Thanks for the tip. Like you, other heat protectants left my hair sticky so I stopped using them. Will definitely try this one. Thanks again.

  • I know I am WAY late to finding this video lol BUT I just got this on wednesday for my daughters natural hair. and I like the smell but I added some rosehip seed oil and some lavender essential oil in it to help the smell more and to add extra protection. I like this product as well :o)

  • I love ur tips xDD

  • i use the silk elements shampoo and conditioner. it works sooo good!

  • Looks great, i love your hair.,i think ill try this...I bought the Chi 44 iron guard, used it once, wasnt that impressed so ill give this a try

  • Your hair looks pretty! It doesn't look like a shaggy dog.

I've used the Megasilk heat protectant as well. I reviewed in another video. I love the smell but It makes my hair oily.

  • i think it does tht due to the oilve in it. I wouldn't know though, but its my guess. I use the tresemme heat protectant. Can't go a flat iron day without it.

  • You should use this one instead.

Tresseme gives shine but it dries out your hair and fucks up your ends.

    Not an exaggeration.

This makes your ends a LOT better, softer, and shiny.

  • lol i was just complaining how tresemme really made my hair not very hydrated. it did dry my hair out lol and my ends uggh.

  • Yep.

I works alright for its price.

But it does try your hair out.

If makes it sorta soft. And the very minimum shine.

I bought the ORS and returned it because it was too greasy and made it harder to straighten.

Megasilk Olive Heat Protectant is amazing.

It's lightweight, smells awesome, makes your hair really soft and shiny... Did I mention it smells really good?

    You should get it.

    It's worth it.

No dryness what so ever. ;)

  • most definetly. thanks :) i might try it.

  • Glad I saw this video. I just did a tutorial using the Treseme heat protectant and afterwards I noticed my hair was rather dry too. I used several new products so I wasn't sure what it was. Ends were a mess. Thanks for posting this. Gonna try silk elements now.

  • Have you been watching my vids or following my blog? I have greatly reduced the frequency with which I heat style my hair. Plus, it was the way I was doing it (little to no heat protectant all because I wanted the "salon swang") that caused me to incur some damage. Yet, if you followed me, you'd know all about my progress and the steps I've taken to prevent further damage.

  • If you use good products, you don't have to stay away. You must have a lot of damage if your hairstylist said to stay away for a month. If you're using all your products on a budget, that's what you're going to get.

  • ok well i have curly hair and by your pic you dont. my hair over time will lose its "curls" if i repeatedly use heat on it. I was using the CHI iron guard and the CHI flat iron. I went threee months to make sure i gave my hair enough time to rest away from heat.

  • I use the Tresmee Heat spray to blow dry and it leaves me with shine and bounce. for my flat iron I use the Lusters Pink glossing spray. It smells NICE <3 I don't need any oil sheen after my wraps come out silky and my hair is so nice! I wanna try the Megasilk but I was a little skiddish. I am going to buy some now and try it out! Thank you for the video

  • I use the Tresmee and i love it

  • i use the normal one and my hair feels like silk i use all there products and love them i wont use anything else i refuse

  • Wats the name of ur flat irons??

    I gotta try them

  • what kind of curling irons are you using?

  • I mean the ORS olive oil stuff in the last comment.

Oh yea, if you like the SIlk Elements spray, there is a spray called Beyond the Zone Heat protection spray and it makes your hair bouncier and less greasy

  • doesnt that olive oil stuff make your hair feel greasy?

I have some left but I dont remember why I stopped using it.

  • Only if you use too much. A little goes a long way!

  • Thanks, I think Im going to have to try it again since I still have a lot left.

  • you shouldn't use that lotion in your hair, I used that lotion, its sooo thick and greasy! and when you use grease in your hair before flat ironing then your hair will look, think, greasy, and limp. Its probably a whole lot prettier when you dont use any oil b4 flat ironing isn't it.

  • Thank you so much for sharing. I will try this one day. Everyone wants to have hair like yours...

  • I just used this product I must say it is a wonderful product. It left my hair feel so soft and silky. It is a wonderful heat protection product. I love it thanx...

  • Where can i buy silk Elements? is it at Wal Mart, Sallys?

  • i got mines at sallys

  • I'm going to have to try this product. Your hair turned out great.

  • I use the silk elements spray too but one thing is you gotta be careful to not use too much because it will make your hair look/feel greasy if you use too much.

  • I watched your video last week and decided to try this product. I used it yesterday, and I must say that I love it. My hair is so soft. I can't keep my hands out of it. :)

  • great vid. your hair looks great. i love the silk elements products

  • I absolutely love that stuff!!! And It smells wonderful!!

  • your hair is gorgeous!

and i really loved the vid! im gonna try this..

  • Thanks hun!

  • Your hair is absolutely beautiful.

I have the Silk Elements MegaSilk Heat Protection Spray with out the olive oil. I will try this one. My hair is really thin and my biggest problem is reverting especially since I workout 4-5days a week.

How do you maintain straight hair when you workout as well.

  • Thanks miss. Sometimes I don't. It all depends on how hard I workout. If I sweat up a storm, then it's back to my curly do!

  • wow i know what you mean about the silk elements spary .. I just got there deep conditioner olive oil one and i mean i LOVE LOVE LOVE it ... smells great and feels wonderful... my hair is still nice and soft after 5 days

  • Every time i go to a store I try to look for new products to use on my newly natural hair. I'm going to try the activator gel and this protectant spray and get back to u on how it works for me

  • where did u get this??

  • They have it @ sally's next to the silk elements line

  • thank you for the review, I will be trying this out when I get another urge to straighten my hair. :D

  • what was the deep conditioner called again ?

o and ur hair is so beautiful

thanx for the info on the spray

  • your hair has really grown!! look great, thanks for sharing this video

  • silk elements is the best. i like silk elements because it's oil based and can be used to re-straighten the hair, unlike motions heat seeker protecting spray, it's a water based spray and can only be used while the hair is damp =(

  • Thanks for making this point because I have motions and I looked at the label and I was going to spray it on dry hair but your hair has to be damp. Im going to try silk elements

  • is your hair natural?

  • Yes, her hair is natural. All of her videos talk about natural hair care, products she has tested, and overall tips to keep your natural hair at its best. She is definitely the go-to person for me on my natural journey! :)

  • Aww, thanks Princess!

  • I will be purchasing this! Thanks for the vid!

  • i actually just both this today and I was a bit nervous about it, so I am happy to see a positive review. thanks as always for a great video

  • i cant wait to buy this

  • u should try running it through once a little slower so u son have to run it through so many times

  • Do you notice that I don't run the iron over the same spot?? I discussed this in my 2 part straightening video. I always start at the point where I left off.

  • Oh ye I saw it now sorry. Good vid :)

  • I love this stuff, it's so light for my fine hair.

  • Does it leave a greasy feel?

  • No, it doesn't. I wouldn't spray too much of it though!

  • I use the regular one (the one without olive oil) and I LOVE it! I think they're pretty similar because I heard great reviews on both. Glad you liked it :)

  • great vid! what is your hair type 4a 2b...i was wondering because you and i look about the same and i have no idea what is my hair type or how to find out thanks

  • Thanks for trying this out and letting us know
