Wildcat183, can you help? I have a laptop with only a headphone jack and a mic input, this makes my drum recording sound bad. Is there any way i can make it sound better on this same laptop?
You can try a new driver. A lot of e-drummers use ASIO4ALL drivers or you may need an external audio interface such as M-Audio. The third possibility is you may be over powering your audio input. Try turning down the output volume of the device you have plugged into the mic jack and using software to bring the volume back up.
@wildcat183 Thank you so much!! it sounds better now, i had the volume on the drumset up too loud making the sound more reverbish/bad sounding, so thanks!
Hi, I'm trying to upgrade from an original Alesis DM5 kit, the one with the rubber pads. Of course I'd love to go to all Roland, Hart, or Pintech mesh pads. But that's not in the cards right now. I have an option to buy a virtually new set of DM Pro Dual Trigger pads. Were you content with them for awhile? Did you feel a big upgrade when you added the mesh heads? Thanks, Dave in PA.
Thank you for the service you provide for very informative videos.
I like the pads. No they're not Roland or Harts but there's nothing that I've seen in their price range that really competes. The mesh made them quieter by about half. The feel was about the same.
I'm still content with the pads and I've been running them for over a year now.
Sometimes some of my Symbols Trigger twice, i think it happened with your snare when you were doing the demo.
Is that the Alesis I/O or the DM5 you have running there?
I have the Alesis Trigger I/O with the Millenium MPS300Drums and i'm having trouble with the Kick Bass not triggering sometimes when i'm playing the double bass. I tried meddling with the settings but it seems the sensor has trouble recognising double beats that are being played fast.
The double trigger was just me being lazy and letting the stick drag on the head. This is through the TD-6 but ya I also have the DM 5. I haven't run the trigger IO so can't help there. Sorry
Love the octapad! Can't swing the price myself right now so use a Yamaha dd-50...works out pretty good. Nice kit!

@BigCountryJASon I got the octapad used for $100. The first gen ones like mine aren't that expensive.

Can you send me a better mic and no it's not hard at all.
You will need a midi to usb/fire wire converter.

I like your setup as always. I would like someday to hook up VST can you make a video on what one needs to use and get this stuff to work?
