Didn't he beat his Romanian gymnasts along with his wife? Thats what he should of done with the American girls becuase they weren't household names or in the history books. Mary was lucky in those olympics. My opinion!
@MNGYM26 have the other coaches produced as many gold medal champions as him???? ok arkayev was khorkina's coach and she is arguably the best female gymnast ever?but the other 2 idk.i know alexander went back to russia to coach.but i think bella has more athletes that won olympic and world titles that the others.
There's a term about gymnasts: "willingness to be coached." For those who are totally willing, Bela is the perfect coach, mentor and inspiration. For those who have attitudes, I guess it can get pretty nasty.
How did Bela have time to take care of all those animals? He doesn't strike me as the type to have a lot of help at his ranch. Plus...what was with all the dogs in cages?
