Shocking. But true it was filmed in the infamous Spahn Ranch where the notorius Manson family lived. Look for it on dvd if you're into grindhouse excitement.
This movie deserves to be remade today,it seems like Hollywood has run out of new ideas or is to cheap to make new original movies. So many movies are sequels or remakes I hope this films gets remade soon.
@Skulldini Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I love how real everything used to be in the good old days. I was only commenting that it's not a bad thing they don't make exploitation films any more because I honestly don't think that a non-retro exploitation flick would be any good. These days people are too afraid to offend a group or worry about the stupid rating system. The result would be a sad, diluted piece of crap.
@PsychProfessor Ain't that the truth! He was a fairly nice looking guy back in the 1940's,.. but became so fat and ugly by the 60's! Check out Dracula Vr. Frankenstien, he's really hideous in THAT one too. But I've got'a admit, It somehow suited those later flicks.
No, it was directed by Al Adamson. In the mid 60s Al cranked out a bunch of flicks: scuzzy biker items ("Satan's Sadists," "Hell's Bloody Devils), Westerns ("Five Bloody Graves," "Jessi's Girls"), soft-core comedies ("The Naughty Stewardesses," "Blazing Stewardesses"), horror/sci-fi ("Horror of the Blood Monsters", "Brain of Blood," & "Nurse Sherri").
As has been commented, the irony of "life imitating art" at Spahn Ranch is quite amazing! For a second I thought I was watching Robert Hendrickson's documentary "Manson!" LOL!
Doesn't anyone find it interesting that this movie has made prior to the Manso family melt down and there are a lot of similarities? The marks in the forehead, a group of wild women, lots of free sex, all at the same ranch? I love the trailer, why are trailers of these old camp movies always more interesting then the movies? Actually than can go for most movies, I prefer to watch trailers than the actual movie.
Thank You for posting; This was filmed during the time the 'Manson Family', with 'Charles-in-charge', occupied the Spahn Ranch as caretakers, the urban legend is that some of the 'extras', and 'stunt' personnel were members of the 'Manson Family'. The new math is, Hyram Abif plus Edgar Allan Poe's 'Tell-Tale Heart' equal Al Adamson's un-cola party, or was it '2:06''Healter-Skelter' 'Family-Jams' it folk-songs right between the eyes?
; Thank You. 'Sphan Movie Ranch' is one of several out-door motion-picture sets in that area, which, as a child, with friends, would explore. The person responsible for the demise of Spahn Ranch was George Spahn. Everyone else which owned the movie ranch before George Spahn, made honest money, and didn't maintain the place as their personal chicken-ranch. George Spahn is responsible for the bringing on the so-called 'Manson Family'.
so a bunch of dykes got together and rode around on horses.. and people paid money to see it....with all the drugs going around, you'd think there would be better movies
Perhaps not one of Russ Tamblyn's finer film moments. He's much better as "Riff" in WEST SIDE STORY, one of the brothers in SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, and the smart-alecky college student in 1963's THE HAUNTING.
Is this what Gloria Allred did when she was younger?

This is remarkable.... the burning of the crucifix on the forehead is absolutely extraordinary given what happened later. Thanks for posting.

I heard Al Adamson was found dead on a ranch...is this the ranch?
monster4josh 9 months ago
@monster4josh Al Adamson was found dead, buried under his own home, not on a ranch.

Hoorah for sixties exploitation films. They sure don't make them anymore like they did in the old days.
..... I'm not sure if that's such a bad thing, either.

@PalmerPirateFilms Well at least they didn't have alot of crummy computer effects in everything or silicone tits on every female.

the trailers are better because 60 seconds is usually all that's worthwhile after you cut away all the boring garbage passing as a "movie"
