I fucking WORSHIP Dan Briggs, my band covers Mordecai, it is the one of the most beautiful pieces of progressive metal work ever conceived, that and Man song made the silent circus, colors was a fantastic album
I'm Dan's dad, and even though I play the piano and electronic keyboards, his mom plays classical guitar and cello, his one uncle plays and builds custom guitars and his other uncle plays drums in two bands.....Dan is the culmination of everything musical in the Briggs clan.
ive loved this solo since it came out, but idk if anyone agrees, a nice smooth shuffle on the drums maybe with some brushes would sound soooo fucking cool. just a thought. dan briggs is the man
This song is so damn soothing. Every note in it is perfect.
That's what really does it for me with this band. I'm as much a fan of polyrhythms and brutal death metal riffs as the next guy, but being able to close my eyes and float to another place just trumps everything.
Jesus, everyone in that band is so talented. Their drummer, bassist, and both guitarists are fucking amazing. Not to mention, their singer is really creative with his vocals.
Guys touring bands dont and never have made shit off cd's. Support bands by purchasing their merch and goin out to shows thats how we survive on the road.
dude honestly the music industry has gone to sh1t because everyones downloading and so you get amazing bands like BTBAM who are going to be poor when they write so much better than all the 3 or 4 powerchord sensations playing on the radio all day. do your bands a favor and buy their cds espically this one. messed up my words
totally agree, but most mainstream people don't buy the CD's from their favourite bands. And people listening to intelligent music are often intelligent enough to buy Cd's from their intelligent bands.
BTBAM are so frickin awesome! They craft skull crushing songs and then interagrate it with every genre ever! Mind blowingly technical, love the fact that the bassist can solo!

Wish the people in the background would shut up and enjoy the damn music :/

I usually download music first but if its good enough (like colors was) ill buy it

The only problem is that the stores near me all have shitty metal collections. It's usually overpacked with Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, etc...
Went halfway across the city to buy Colors.
Any other album I'd buy in an instant.
Although it's pointless to buy an album if you haven't heard it before, that's why I download it first to check it out. It's a pretty good strategy :)

An amazing piece of music. One of the most emotional and technically impressive bass parts I've heard.
