Yes its sad that john left, but dont think of it in a sad way. John left to persue his own style and grow in a way that he wouldnt be able to if he was still in the band. Klinghoffer is the only person fit to take his place, i was sad when i heard about john, but releived when it was josh to take his place. If any of you doubt his abilities, then clearly you dont have a copy of "A sphere in the hear of silence"... listen to that album and then tell me you dont feel inspired.

It is so usual for RHCP to change guitarists like socks ;)....My personal opinion is that the band wouldn't make it without John after One Hot Minute.His contribution on last three albums could be described as incalculabe.But also, every his decision must be respected.About Josh, he should not try to imitate Johns style, he should build up hes own......

I like both Josh and John, and i think it's great that they got Josh in the band, but RHCP isn't the same without John. They don't have the same funk and beat they used to. Josh is great at guitar, so is John, but there's something about this that tells me that their new album isn't going to be the same as SA.

It might give the chilis a much needed spark and kick some life back into them. Jons solo output over the past 5 or 6 years has been much better than anythign the chilis have released.

I think if the band members themselves can get over it. We as fans... should to, they make decisions and they didn't just pick josh off the streets. BUT they didn't with frusciante.... I am a MASSIVE chili's fan.... and i think this will change their music, but it will bring them something new, and i VERY much doubt with flea and Chad . THE most powerful mid range of a band EVER.... lets be honest with ourself, the chili's will still be amazing, and anyone who says other wise. Just isn't a fan.

the good thing about this change is that Josh has played with John and the chilis, so has a pretty clear idea of their style.

Unlike the last time when John left and chilis got Navarro, who is a pretty good guitarist but never fit the style of the chili's.

this time the style will obviously change but shouldnt be so much that their music becomes worst (which imo it did with Navarro and OHM)
