I saw a video of James Hetfield using a talkbox, where he has the tube fixed to the top of a smaller type mic and he would just put his mouth over the whole mic, it seems less messy where the tube isn't just sitting in your mouth. I could be wrong though since i have never used a talkbox.

@Guitarings you could have suggested what amp type to use. generally you don't want to use anything exceeding 50 watts. infact a good 7/15 watt head is all you need (like a tiny terror). commonly people run an a/b switch between your regular guitar head and the talkbox. if kyle wants a simpler option the rocktron banshee talkbox is suitable. it has an inbuilt amplifier and runs like a normal guitar pedal. and frampton was just one person. why didn't you mention roger troutman?!?!

not really rockin, but someone who uses the talk box real well is Daft Punk - check out the synth solo thing in their song called Digital Love... i believe the main "singing" part in the song is also done with a talk box.

@radyentreme98 Jack has a way of putting his own stamp on everything he does, and also has a way of showing us that even slightly watery pop, can suddenly sound cool when he approaches it in his very special and unique way. I played some guitar on that, and I can tell you, we all had a really good time on the session. I know it's not the most credible musical collab, but it's nice to see Jack in the limelight, because it always bodes well for the D!
